    Good morning Lisa. Page 44 of the Quick Start Guide has a note that says: "Pellets will not ignite if they are not filled to the top of the smoke box." That may be the reason why your oven did not smoke the ribs.

      thanks I'm going to give it a try again-just don't want a ton of smoke flavor-making a chuck roast tomorrow -will see what happens or will see if I can remove some pellets during cook time.

      You have to press the smoker button for 3 seconds to reignite the pellets

      @@pressurecrisp pellets do not really put in a strong smoke flavor. i would not worry about it on ribs infact my personal taste i would keep it smoking the whole cook. chicken i would fill it once and let it smoke at the start. chuck roast again i would keep it smoking the whole time. pellets just not as smoky as wood chunks or chips. that was my complaint about pellet smokers. but ninja woodfire oven does it differently its always smoking compared to sometimes with a pellet smoker. and i am loving mine.

    Hey, thanks for putting a rib example on your channel. Yea, have to hit the Woodfire button first to heat up chips, even though it says not to pre heat.

    Yes pellet box has to be full for it to ignite .

    Yum…I have that oven and I will definitely be making ribs. Thank you so much for the recipe, time and temps. Yes as others have said…you must fill the pellets to the top and hit the smoke button or use the smoke setting.

    Thanks Lisa...the ribs look wonderful. I was going to pass on this oven as I am totally out of room for Ninja products, but now I am rethinking. Taking it camping is a great idea.

      It would be a great addition camping-also will have plenty of new friends to entertain-lol. especially making pizza at the campground.
      purchase it -then if you don't like it you can always return it.

    Hi there Lisa.
    'Lucky neighbour' 😛
    Yeh I think you should've used the smoke flavour function, otherwise you just have the standard bake.
    The ribs look delicious. Lots of lovely colour and falling from the bone tenderness.
    That lot would cost me around the AUD $42 plus depending on the butcher.
    It's actually cheaper to buy them ready made whether frozen and reheat or just warm and serve.
    But they're never the same as slow smokey cooked bbq ribs.
    Fantastic background view to eat the ribs by.
    Thank you for your time and effort to make this video and others yet to come.
    Enjoy your current surroundings.
    Cheers Lisa 👍🤤😀

      According to the manual she did everything right, except the little chip basket has to be full.
      I wonder if the ignition is at the top vs the bottom? Seems a little odd, perhaps it's just faulty.

      thanks John! It is beautiful here! and I just got back from pacific north west in state of Washington-so different and so beautiful.

    Is there a button that says wood for flavor as well? It looked like a button to me in watching, but I don't have one to check if it is.

    • @averyvaliant
      @averyvaliant ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The button seems to be if you add more pellets mid-cook, you press and hold that button and it fires off the ignition.
      The only thing I think Lisa did wrong, was not to fill the pellet tray fully, but it's odd it didn't ignite what was in there, unless the ignition is on the top of the tray

      we will figure it out tomorrow-wa going to do it today but I have a backhoe making tons of noise.

  • @averyvaliant
    @averyvaliant ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think, yea, I just re-read the manual, it doesn't need manual ignition, but I do think you have to have a full load of pellets to make it ignire
    Other than that, lovely looking ribs Lisa!

    • @pressurecrisp
      @pressurecrisp  ปีที่แล้ว

      But I don't want a full one! :(. tantrum!! lol. I will try that tomorrow when I smoke the chuck roast. thanks for informing me-I have been off in the Cascade national park for 5 days :).
      thank you so much for the super-donation! appreciate it Adam! I will make rubs again -different recipe next time.

    • @averyvaliant
      @averyvaliant ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pressurecrisp Haha yea I wouldn't either, I like smokey, but not smokED foods!
      I would try it again, with the same amount of pellets, but once the ignition sequence finishes (and fails), light them with a match or a barbecue ignition thingy.
      Should work the same I'd think.

    • @pressurecrisp
      @pressurecrisp  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@averyvaliant yeah maybe I will do that-so that's one thing ninja should really change on next model -well I think at least-lol

    • @averyvaliant
      @averyvaliant ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pressurecrisp No doubt it's to make you use up pellets quicker so you buy more of them.
      Because you can ONLY use overpriced Ninja pellets....oh wait, no you can use other much cheaper brands! yay! :P
      Will be interesting to see what results you get if you manually light them.

    You have to ignite the pellets

  • @davemarrione5605
    @davemarrione5605 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Pellets should be filled to the top regardless of the cook, according to the Owner’s Manual ( I know, sounds like a waste of pellets, don’t it?!).
    Also, while I do not have this oven, I think it works on the same principal as the Outdoor Grill - When using the SMOKE ONLY OPTION, turn the selector dial to SMOKER, then press the “WoodFire Technology Button” (you’ll then see the “flame icon” on the display screen. Set the temp, time, and press the “START / STOP button. You’ll see “IGN” (Ignite) on the display screen. If you did these steps listed in the order above, and still no smoke, you probably didn’t have enough pellets in the smoker box.

    • @averyvaliant
      @averyvaliant ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One way around this might be to use as many pellets as you like, but once you put the food in, manually light them with one of those barbecue lighter sticks, or even a match.
