Thank you for making me a Rock Star! Just got my grill and tossed their book and followed your instructions from this video and they turned out perfect! When served, the table went silent for a few minutes and then, no one could stop raving about then. Thank you for making it so easy, I just followed your instructions and it turned out perfect! Can’t wait to try meatloaf!
CJ is the man when it comes to using the Ninja Woodfire Grill. Used this recipe for baby back ribs and they came out amazing! Used his recipe for pulled pork a few months ago and that came out great too!
Best cook by gut I have seen for this product. I am buying this because my wife has a lung issue and I cannot cook anything at all in the house that makes any kind of smoke not even a toaster. I was hoping this would be a game changer for me and this video tells me it is. I have all kinds of outdoor cookers and smokers, but it gets cold here and I also need some thing that I can cook things that smoke and cooks quick like burgers and steaks. I can’t do that inside on cast-iron anymore because of her condition. This video convinced me this unit is worth it. Thanks
Fair play I’ve been watching your videos for over a year now and the past month I’ve put into practice many things I’ve learned from your channel and now it’s showing significant results. These ribs are absolutely amazing. Especially when using the apple juice to spritz up the bark. Top channel my friend! Keep up the great work buddy ❤
I made these ribs for dinner tonight. Wrapping them in foil made a huge difference and l know it made a difference because I’m not good on the grill. The meat was moist and very tender! 👍🏾
Many thanks. I do not have a ninja yet, but I do cook ribs in my confection oven. You showed me how to complete them. Place it back in wrapped in aluminum foil, surrounded by sauce and seasonings. Cooking for an additional hour. Then bake for an additional 10 minutes, I believe you said. I appreciate it. I was only ever doing the first step. they were always done, but not as tender as I would want. Thanks
hey CJ,just got my ninja woodfire today, did baby backs, followed your q,turned out awesome!!! for those wondering about clean up,that was easy used dawn spray and that was it!!! love this thing so far and didnt miss the smoke ring!!! thank you!!!
People sleep on these crossover style grills but they are fun! I’ve got a masterbuilt 20qt air fryer that has a wood chip drawer that sits on the burner. Air fried/smoked wings beats out any other method I’ve tried! Planning on air frying/smoking a 20lb bird for thanksgiving! It can also dehydrate & has tons of space for lots jerky.
So glad I found your channel before I bought this. I just followed your instructions and these ribs came out great! Juicy and tender and I won’t be DoorDashing from my local BBQ place any more 😋😋😋
Those ribs did look very tasty brother CJ!!! You could use a little pink curing salt "Prauge" to get a fake smoke ring. I use it when I bake ribs in the oven and they turn out great. I may have to get one of those Ninja Woodfire grills. Pretty cool little cooker!!! Cheers brother!!!!!
Eating ribs from my Woodfire grill, exactly as you showed us. OMG! They are so good. I also put a corningware casserole of baked beans to smoke, excellant! Thank You CJ, I watch, subscribed, liking, and learning. 👍👍
I'm buying my first Ninja Woodfire smoker grill because of you and your videos, I love them don't ever stop and the ribs I have to tell you they look awesome👍👍💯👈
That's it!!! I'm subscribed! Bro! You made my first rib cooking experience awesome! Followed this recipe as well as your reverse seared tri tip video! Thank you! Meat was falling off the bone, every bite was soft and delicious! You are the man, bro!
I like both types of ribs, savoury and sweet. Sweet and sour is also good, because of the flavour contrast. Those ribs look pretty tasty. Cheers, CJ! ✌️
CJ...I think you are telling us to pull them beyond the temp they should be...mine are not "falling off the bone" and getting dry...I will keep trying.
CJ thanks for the bake recommendation. I like my ribs sort of crispy or medium well. Would suggest more smoke time, more bake time, or a quick 5 minute grill top closed at the end of cooks cycle ?
I can’t believe the stuff that ninja comes out with!!! All of it seems to be fairly decent from the blender all the way to this grill even have a ice cream maker!!! And all of it seems to get fairly decent reviews!!! This grill smoker would be nice for traveling on the road and cooking outside of a hotel room on the tailgate. I looked up the price of that gimmicky knife $97 wow they’re pretty proud of that knife!!!
Heads up! When I want a smoke ring using my electric masterbuilt smoker I just add three to four charcoal briquettes to the smoking wood box and that does the trick. But like you said the ring doesn't mean more flavor it's just a visual coolness thing.
After you removed them from the foil and placed them back on to tighten up the top, did you turn the grill off? If not, what function/temperature was the grill on for those last few min?
Hey my dude trying out my woodfire grill for the first time. I'm doing your rib recipie they are on the bake setting now and they look awesome. I'll let you know how they turn out
Great video CJ. In your opinion, were the ribs clearly better/different than those made on the regular Ninja Foodi Grill? Was the smoke infusion as intense as you expected?
I bought a slab of baby back ribs and I'm going to use a Little bit of yellow mustard on them with my favorite rub sprinkled last. I'll smoke them the same way you did in this video and I bet they turn out awesome! I'll spray them with apple juice and water combined
Hey mate completely new to smoking. Got a pro xl ninja and smoked them at the weekend. It went ALOT quicker than this video ribs looked the same size roughly aswell. When I took them out the wrap there was a little pull back but not alot. Ribs weren't as soft as I wanted. Question is.. Am I better to lower the temp and go longer so down to like 100c ? Cheers if you manage to get to respond to this.
You can try to go a little lower, it’ll take a bit more time, but give it a go. My videos are like a basic guide, but there is always a bit of a learning curve with everyone’s own machine. It takes some time, but you’ll get it down.
Hi CJ, Love your channel and really appreciate all you've done to teach and inspire me. 2 hour cooking worked for me at 250. Had plenty of smoke and nice and tender. Did apple juice spritz at 1 hour and wrapped after 2 hours. Really tender.. Finger lickin good. Just for the record Pecaaan in Canada and Pecan in the U.S.A Lol Thanks for the video
Those ribs looked damn good. I started with an MB electric smoker and very rarely got a smoke ring but would get smoke flavor (light flavor but was there), might have something to do with that. In any event, I could see that being a great cooker for apartment living where you're restricted from charcoal or gas.
I have the Master Built portable tabletop smoker and I get amazing smoke rings, it's a little difficult to load the little tray to add chips or pellets, it uses propane obviously but it's perfect for me I live in an apartment sorry for rambling 😂 but I love my little MB Smoker
@@dgdigital2659 The propane probably helps with that as it gives flame. On the electric smoker, you have the heating element like an oven. Think that is why I never got much smoke rings with the MB electric. That said, to me, it was a great introduction to smoking meats.

Just got my Ninja Woodfire and used it today for a Ribeye and some chicken breasts. So much easier than using this grill than a traditional charcoal grill or smoker. Wow, the flavor is unbelievable. So fast, easy cleanup. Thanks for your videos CJ!
Hello CJ. I’m a newbie. Never smoked or grilled outside. What is the mat you are using to prep the ribs? I made some ribs Sunday and they were a big hit. Thanks for all your knowledge.
Thanks for doing this video CJ! I tried doing my ribs this way and they turned out fantastic! Have a question maybe you can answer. I am getting ready to have a family BBQ and I need to make 3 full racks of ribs. Of course I will need to do it in basically 3 cooks. I am starting about 6 hours before we want to eat. How might I keep them warm for about 4 hours until all is done or should I even attempt to keep them warm. I was considering leaving them in the foil after braising and put them in a warm oven. But don’t want them to dry out. Thanks much !!!
I don’t know if it will work the same with ribs, but when we cook tri-tip ahead, we wrap in foil and put in an ice chest wrapped in a towel. Keeps it hot for several hours
Awesome ribs CJ! Still learning on this grill, your videos are definitely helping! Thanks! Just curious what sort of stand do you use for your grill??. Cheers brother 🥃
Look at all them delicious bad boy ribs! If we need to make 2 batches we make 2 batches either in one or in two different Ninjas or even an oven or another grill. No one starving here, so come on over and I'll cook, lol! Plus all the sides and what not is plenty for everyone. CJ , Thank you for always showing us such great food and how everything works. I really appreciate it. Sweet and Hot 🔥 😍 😋 Ribs. But I don't mind making another less hot batch for those who don't like much heat. Keep on cooking CJ.
Hi from the uk, they looked amazing. Just purchythe ninja so going to give this a go. Can i get those rubs in the uk? Ir can you recommend from the uk to use instead? Thanks. Love the channel.
Hey thank you! I’m not too familiar with UK bbq. But you can find some good ones on Amazon. Just search bbq seasoning. You really can’t go wrong with a lot of them.
My ninja grill smoker version doesn’t have a “bake” setting. Do you think for that part it would be better to use the “grill” setting or to just throw them in a separate oven? Practically I’m not sure how the ninja operates differently in terms of grill vs bake, maybe something with the fan?
Just tried out your method with some kinders rub and sauce as I did not have any Kosmosq stuff and it turned out amazing such good color and so freakin tender! Thank you so much for this video and I hope you keep doing more recipes with this grill!
Hey, CJ I have a question. I Purchased a wood fire grill and it doesn't have the bake, broil, roast or dehydrated setting's. It just has a grill, smoke and air fry. I wanted to know, when it comes to a baking stage for wrapped ribs. Can I finish the wrapped ribs on the air fryer setting around 325 instead of 350 if my unit had a baking setting?
Going to try this on Mothers Day on my new Ninja! I have a lot of ribs to cook but looks doable if I start early and your instructions are easy. I don’t have your thermometer but purchased the wireless ones and hopefully they will work. I am very excited! Those ribs look awesome!
followed your steps and our ribs turned out GREAT! This grill is surpassing all of our expectations and meeting the challenge. we were first going to use it for our motorhome..screw that. We're using it for both home and motorhome. Tonight we're trying the air fryer feature...
Using ours in when out in motorhome and at home. We were at a campground and cooking a small brisket, I had people all over the place, checking out our Ninja Woodfire grill and plenty on compliments. Later on seen a box outside a camper. YEP Woodfire Grill box from Best Buy LOL;
Just a thought. When they are done keep them wrapped and clean up the grill plate. Put it back on and set it to grill on high. Finish the ribs on it for some more caramelization and char.
Does anyone have a problem with being able to smoke if you do two batches in a row? Did a batch of ribs. Smoked good but when I started the second one smoker would not work. I had to wait till the unit cooled down completely. Then do it. Love the tips CJ. Watched this several times. Having family over for ribs

learned that you can add pellets during a cook - just press the "flame" button for 3 seconds to start the ignite cycle again - love your videos CJ
Good to know, I didn’t know that. Thanks!
I'll be on the look out for a redo on the ribs with this bit of information. Wish I could taste test it too.😁😁😋😋

I just add more and they lite up from the ones at the bottom. I find if I press the button again it just burns up the pellets

Left it bake

These look excellent CJ! Totally considering this Ninja for the urban setting I'm in!
Yessir! Thanks!
Going to try this on Mothers Day on my new Ninja! I have a lot of ribs to cook but looks doable if I start early and your instructions are easy. I don’t have your thermometer but purchased the wireless ones and hopefully they will work. I am very excited! Those ribs look awesome!
Thank you!!
I don't have the XL, but I do have the indoor grill XL Pro, I tell you what CJ I have followed this but used my own Rub the smell OMG TY BBQ brother
Right on!
followed your steps and our ribs turned out GREAT! This grill is surpassing all of our expectations and meeting the challenge. we were first going to use it for our motorhome..screw that. We're using it for both home and motorhome. Tonight we're trying the air fryer feature...
Right on! Appreciate it!
Using ours in when out in motorhome and at home. We were at a campground and cooking a small brisket, I had people all over the place, checking out our Ninja Woodfire grill and plenty on compliments. Later on seen a box outside a camper. YEP Woodfire Grill box from Best Buy LOL;
it is the best we've since tried the air fry, and oven. posibilities are endless@@cowboyup545
Just a thought. When they are done keep them wrapped and clean up the grill plate. Put it back on and set it to grill on high. Finish the ribs on it for some more caramelization and char.
Do you think using half-and-half with charcoal pellets and wood pellets would be good for ribs? Or should I just do wood only?
I’d just use wood.
Is the temperature control infinitely variable? Does the temperature probe version offer any advantage over a separate instant read thermometer?
Yes you can change temps any time. I do not have the unit with the temp probe. I use my wireless TempSpike and instant read thermometers.
