- Real quick before the compilation starts I have two things to say. I didn't include episode 23 "the ugly mermaid " in this video because the whole episode Mario and his friends have the frog suit on. And secondly, I included a scene where Mario and Luigi are wearing hammer brother disguises and I'm aware that it's not the same as the actual hammer suit power up, but I included it anyway for fun. Okay that's all, bye.

Luigi got gypped a lot. He was only Fire Luigi twice and once wasn't even colored properly. And he only powered up twice in the Super Mario World cartoon.

@BRANDON MORALES the wiggles and msep fan boy honestly it’s the fact it’s kept up for the whole scene of the bank robbery is upsetting since Luigi never got much use of the Fire Flower which he should of Ik he did use it but the fact Luigi never got a his Fire Luigi outfit in Crimes R Us made it seem like he would never get to use the Fire Flower after that

This will always be my favorite Mario cartoon. It's faithful to the games unlike Super Show, and it isn't extremely boring like Super Mario World.

I agree. SMB3 was more faithful than Super Show and more fun to watch than SMW (Super Mario World felt like they had done everything with the licence... )

Also, the ending kind of gets me a little emotional, because that big power up battle between Bowser and the Marios was the final episode of DIC's series based on Mario 3. They decided to go out with a bang and give Toad extra attention as well. They did this to celebrate the character and to give him one last hurrah, because they knew that he was going to be replaced by Yoshi come the following season. Animated Toad is one of the best Mario characters of all time and his influence can still be seen to this day. He's the reason Nintendo still gives Toad a raspy voice.

I always wondered why the weren’t able to incorporate the Tanooki Suit into the show.
The plot line could have been a Christmas special. Santa is in Ice Land getting ready to deliver the presents to the good kids in the Mushroom Kingdom. Obviously the Koopa Kids don’t qualify and they don’t take it very well. Particularly Kootie Pie. So Bowser to shut her up plans to steal all the presents for her and the other Koopalings. So the Mario Bros got to go Ice Land and stop them wearing Tanooki Suits because of the cold.

Super Koopa was always my favorite episode. It was awesome seeing Bowser and the Mario Bros have this all out battle with the different powers!

Agreed. Compare that to Super Show where Toad and Peach only got ONE episode where they get to have super forms. Toad in "The Fire of Hercufleas" and Peach in "The Trojan Koopa". Or in "Super Mario World" where Peach got zero episodes where she had a cape.

@@RDSArcade Weirdly enough I didn't care for "Reign Storm" as a kid cause I saw her with Cutter and my kid brain was like "PEACH YOU CHEATING WHORE!!". Nowadays I found that episode entertaining cause of Robot Peach.

I also watched Sonic Underground as a kid and I didn't know all three shows were this old back then lol

Exactly!! The first show (North America) had the starman as a fire flower.. It was quite obvious that the directors and producers didn't have any clue on what they were doing.. They just know this was something popular and just took keywords reading only from the manual and still got everything wrong..

I hear a lot of people saying that the writers of the Super Show were just going off prompts without actually researching the source material but tbh it feels more like they just played SMB2 and only that game and went off of what they know from there. There was a lot of focus on the characters from that game while the content from actual mainline Mario were the inaccurate parts of the show
You'd think there'd be more... especially considering most of the period you've spent playing these games, you've been in a powerup.
They kinda did. It was in the series finale and coincidentally my favorite episode. Its called "Super Koopa." Check it out if you can find it.

Might be wrong here, but I do believe that this series(Super Show included) was the first time ever where characters other than the Mario brothers were depicted using the power ups. The games themselves would not do this for well over a decade after this show aired.

@@masedaace5473 I included multiple appearances in an episode unless the heroes got it at the same time (The super leaf in the last episode got a bit hairy so I don't know) the shoe appeared twice in the finale so that's why.
