  • In this video we will use the Gladius, Sabre, Vanguard, Constellation, and Redeemer in Atmosphere to hunt for brand new bounty hunting missions on Star Citizen 3.16 PTU. This video looks at some bounty hunting missions in the atmospheres of MicroTech and its moons.

    Man I want a Sabre. Everyone always tells me they are in such a bad place, but they look so cool! Think I’ll buy one with my credits this weekend rather than the hurricane.

      It's in a pretty bad state for PVP compared to other options, which I think is where people talk about it being bad. It might be my favourite solo ship for running Atmospheric bounties though for the reasons I talk about in the video though.

    Was wondering what the music you use in these videos is? Also curious if you use any settings, software or hardware to increase the quality of the audio?

      I don't do anything to the audio except adjusting audio levels (and fade-in fade-out, etc.)

      No problem! The new bounties are definitely refreshing to see compared to the space ones, and hopefully it gives some options for them adding new stuff in the future.

      You have to land somewhere on a desertic moon, take your nox with the new gravlev system (now you can go at high speed pretty smoothly !), Take your sniper and kill your target with a small scenario like a drug deal or something.
      That should be awesome and I hope we will be able to see this type of content one day ! :)

    Those look fun. I love my Connie lead sled but in atmo it's definitely out of its element without turret gunners and a Merlin pilot. I'll have to try out my HS Hornet and maybe the 'cane for the atmo missions. More variety is nice, and I think with that and JT2 PvPers will have more entertainment so some of us can haul/mine with a little more peace and quiet lol.

      Yeah, these are definitely refreshing even if they are slower than the other space ones.
      From what I've seen the Ninetails blockade is back on 3.16 PTU as well, so there's gonna be a fair bit more to do soon.

    so, I just completed my first group ERT in my warden. My loadout is a Galdereen and CVSA's + 32 size 1 missiles and I was able to complete it w/o restocking or dying. No gunner. The atmo bounties are a ton of fun! I'd like to try the AD5B, but I dont have a redeemer and havent seen the gat on sale anywhere.

    Thanks for the comparison of ships in atmo, definitely highlighted the difference in performance.
    I agree 100% in relation to your thoughts on balancing ballistic weapons instead of nerfing the ammo capacity to hell. I always found the concept that ballistic weapons were some sort of specialised weapon to be a little suspect. In my mind surely ballistic weapons would have been the first type of weapon to be used in space and so would be quite numerous in the verse.
    Some ideas I have for limiting ballistics would be 1) For fast firing gatlings heat could be the limiting factor in sustained fire. 2)F or cannons bigger physical rounds would result in a much lower rate of fire being the limiting factor.

      Yeah…it feel like ballistics are trying to do too much right now:
      Extra damage.
      Have shield penetration.
      Larger magazines than energy weapons.
      Resource limited.
      Part of the discussion on stream I cut out of this video sorta talked about that and the unused damage types, and how they could take some of the things ballistics are trying to do and move them to other damage types. If I am recalling correctly, there are two unused damage types that were in the game (bio and plasma).

    I am glad this game is putting emphasizing the "rock paper, scissors" concept of ship to ship with environment thrown in. I need to test how my Hornet Ghost, Super Hornet and Buccaneer behave compaired to by Gladius or Saber. Question is, will the game eventially factor in under wing weapons for aerodynamic penalties due to drag?. Players may decide they want unrivaled aerodynamic handling by sacrificing some firepower. I am extremely surprised you could do some maneuvering in a Conne during atmospheric combat as its not an aerodynamic ship.

    my biggest problem in 3.15 with player bounties is when chasing an Ares. I have problems catching these Ares in atmosphere. Wondering if there is a bug or I need a different ship for that. Haven't tried the Sabre yet, but I've tried the vanguard and gladius, and they don't even come close. They lose lots of ground in a chase very quickly.

    Atmospheric Bounties around anywhere on Area 18 would be interesting because of the buildings everywhere even if they were super Rare.

      They would be - alas I tried it yesterday around ArcCorp and none of the bounty missions there appear to be for the planet, only its moons. Probably did about 8 of them and nothing spawned on the planet itself so far.

    Nice video! How on earth do you get your camera view to be static front like that though? Mine is always pulling towards the target and zooming in on it, and I haven't found any way to lock my view like you have yours so I can actually see my MFDs while I fly.

      There are options in game to disable head shake and look ahead. I disable them because I use headtracking if I want to look around.

    Hey love your videos and guides. Iam also proud owner of a similar stick setup but have some problems with the freelook axis because of a bug in star citizen with x / y input while using feelook bind to the thumbstick. did you find any workaround for this, because it mostly looks smooth when you use the external view rotation.

      I can't say I have really noticed an issue, but I've heard that other people have run into similar problems. My understanding is they bound mouse movement to the mini stick instead so it allows them to look around with the mini stick acting as the mouse would for the camera. Hopefully that helps!
