Lol😂 if you got the money 🤑 for a dumb car like that why do you need to cut corners on how to lower it .. and 2nd question ❓ why the fuck are you lowering a Bugatti ? So you can cost yourself more money when you inevitably fuck your shit up from being to low ...
Yeah I live in Fort Collins and was able to get about 2 years on my g37x with a 4 inch drop. Ended up cracking my flywheel and torque converter from all the bottoming out :(
Nice job and I did this to a base cab Tacoma. I had to make my own lowering kit for the front and a lowering block was available for the 3rd member (1"). Project Runt build or X Runner Jr. .
Would you share where you purchased those lowering ball joints? I really want to do this on my 2013 Honda Accord Sport sedan. Thank you in advance, Rick
Let me first say, "I'm sorry" for the brutal honesty that is about to come your way. I had the same reaction as most of the women you know when I thought to myself, " I wasted my time for an inch?!" Once again, sorry.
That’s exactly what I thought when I heard “ball joint”. I’ve installed springs on several cars, and replaced ball joints on dozens. Not once have springs been as difficult as ball joints.
not possible on my setup as my spring acts on the upper controll arm. but this gave me high spirits. im currently building a track car and so an extreme weight reduction was done. so even with my lowering springs it seats higher than with stock springs. becauce therye way stiffer. ow i know what needs to be done to lower it! thanks!
I am trying to help an 86 year old neighbor with her RX350. It is WAY to high for her, and she can't afford another car. Where/how would I get lowering ball joints for her? Can I get to 2-3" lowering? Regards, Bo
So you fit a snap ring to stop the ball joint from backing out , yet the castle nut that holds the ball joint to the lower control arm completely passes the split hole so that safety of a pin is completely omitted. What does your insurance provider say about altering the suspension geometry in this way ? Do you even tell them ? Manufacturers spend a lot of time and money building safety and more importantly, predictability into their suspension systems. What are your caster ,camber and toe settings ? How much does this modification alter the KPI and slip angles ?
LOL ...this comment coming from "Mazda man" , Mazda's are the most mod. cars these days because of poor design plus Mazda will not recall anything (power steering come to mind) even on recalls (lower A arm bolts) was limited to N.A. because they got sued ....rest of the world has to live with the risk or pay to change the bolts.
How so? Extended ball joints are very common to correct geometry on lowered cars. But it also has the additional affect of lowering the ride height slightly.
Please tell me y’all have these for a dodge charger sxt v6 2012???? I have eibach pro kit with the eibach struts and the ride Quality is really really bad over bumps and imperfections on the road. And if y’all do how much for front and back? I’m looking for a 1.3 front drop and a 1.4 back drop. I kept my old struts and springs just incase
this is super ... can i do this to a 1999 Nissan gloria y34 ?! ... it is really hard to lower a y33 gloria without changing springs and shocks ... and would be very pricey as well
I have an 08 Lexus Is350. I put on 19” wheels and it still rides high. I really want that lowered aggressive look. I like the comfort of the ride so really don’t want lowering springs or coils. May look into this. Hoping they have this for Lexus IS
I have a 987.2 Cayman S and this method can't be used to lower the car. I also have a 2013 Toyota Tacoma 5 lug base cab, that I did do the front suspension in the same manner, as it has upper and lower A frame suspension. You can do this due to the lower ball joint is affixed to a yolk that attaches to the spindle carrier with 2 bolts, just install the spacer and install the bolts. Basically the lower A frame is staying on the same plane and the spindle gets moved up, which lowers the car. I made the 25.4 mm (1") spacers and ordered the required bolts, grade 8, 25 mm longer than stock in the correct thread pitch. I had to pull one bolt to get the length and pitch (threads per mm). I auto X the Tacoma and it surprises a few to see how well it does on track. There are numerous changes done to achieve this package; it ain't stock.
It turned out nice. Good height. I really want to do do that to my 07 mazda 3. The previous owner took off the 15in steel wheels and and added 17's, but but the front sits so high. I want to eventually put 18" rims on the car, so I'd probably wait till those rims go on and the worry about the height
You have special needs. Bigger wheels don't raise ride height 😆 Wheel size goes up, tyre size (side wall) comes down, so the rolling circumference is the same. Are you 12¿
@@BalladeSports how bad is it to cut the springs about an inch or inch and a half. Will it affect handling, cornering ect. And thanks for your help to I really appreciate it.
Can this be done to any car like a 2022 toyota camry? I want to lower just for a more aggressive look but want to keep the stock ride comfort if possible, I was thinking about doing lowering springs but many people say that the shocks will need to be replaced with them so don't want to go through with all that on a newer car and just want a quick lowered look. Thanks
new shocks likely won't be NEEDED with lowering springs, especially with a 2022 car, but any lowering will wear out factory shocks quicker than stock height. a lower ride height will reduce the amount of travel in the shock and the range of travel will be firmer = putting more stress on factory shocks
What about wheel to wheel housing clearance? Are there any problems keeping the stock dampers/springs with this setup? Cause of course the clearance is going to be reduced, basically around the same amount has been lowered.
Lol uh i think coilovers ride better than factory and probably less work than all that crap. No offense. Coilovers adjustable and are all available with adjustable dampening...soooo. what do i know though ..iv only lowered over 100 cars..trucks ..bikes...wagons.
@@SethHollingshead cut springs also require a cert lol because they have to make sure springs are captive, lowering springs really only way to go but car frame has to be 100mm from the ground so cant go super low
WRONG! Most all coil over shocks are designed for the spring rate and application. The harder or softer ride is determined by the application i.e. track or street. News flash, coil overs and lower springs are two completely different things, you cannot relate one with the other when taking about lowering ability or ride quality. You just changed the rebound and dampening the shock was meant for relative to the tire size. No real test drive or mention of ride quality is a dead give a way.
I’m gonna do this on my Bugatti Chiron
