    At one point in the video, he mentions that he's going to cure the section with the fingerprint area "not for 15 seconds, but for 30 seconds", yet the next thing it jump-cuts to is him curing that area for 60 seconds... was there another 30 seconds of curing that wasn't actually filmed?

    Funny thing about this, I just recently installed mine and the liquid they gave seemed to be a little more than what you had in the video. It took way longer for it to spread and I had to move the weight a bit.

    Thank you! Your instructions were excellent, and the install went smoothly. It looks great, however, the one thing that I’m not keen on is the top edge of the glass protector sits about 1/2 mm below the actual phone display so I’m getting a rainbow ghosting on that edge of the protector. This is even when the protector was against the two plastic tray nubs that sit on top of the edge of the phone near the camera. Not your fault of course. Just saying to others to watch this when they do it, as there might be a way to get in a little snugger on the top to remove the rainbow ghosting.

    Speaker protector adhesive didn't have enough grip on the screen protector. As a result, the red lowering lever's surface tension against the screen protector edge kept ever so slightly pulling the screen along with it. I ended up prematurely touching the liquid when the screen was not fully straight with the camera lens, etc. It was a losing battle from that point. Small air bubbles dead middle of screen. Wish I had notice the speaker guard adhesion issue. Would've used a small eyeglasses tool to hold against the edge of the screen protector over the red lever. That would've worked, lol. ARGH! Guess I'll be looking at your removal video now. And ordering another protector. The 2nd screen in the kit arrived broken.

    Does the "glue" ever dry? I expected the UV curing process would make the glue hard and dry, but after following the procedure with the UV curing device , I developed a bubble on one of the curved edges an hour after install. I pressed out the bubble and re-cured the phone paying special attention to the curved parts to get more face time by angling the phone. But the next day I noticed another bubble that I was able to push out again.

  • @simplyclean4907

    Make sure to put any kind of tape on the controls to prevent liquid too get in if it spill

  • @grantkobes
    @grantkobes 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So did you put the UV a total of 3 different times in the area of the fingerprint scanner? You mentioned a 30second but didnt show in the video. IS that done after the 15 second bursts?

    • @chimaxi83
      @chimaxi83 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He didn't show it, but yes, the 30 seconds is done after the 15 seconds at top/mid/bottom. After the 15 second bursts and 30 seconds at the scanner, you then finish with 60 seconds at top/mid/bottom. This is according to the official instructions.

    Great to see its not that much more difficult than the Whitestone Dome kit ( except for the lack of the bridge for the glue) . Have you found if the their tempered glass is equal, different or inferior in quality? like the 9H rating? or amount of protection? Its unfortunate that Whitestone Dome has has a hefty price increase and many reports of poor glass quality, ( maybe a bad batch or supplier of glass during the Pandemic, and the new glass is inferior?) Great videos as always! please respond to these concerns. Been subscribed to your channel for a few years!

      I can attest to the poor quality of latest Whitestone glass. I've gone thru 2 in a month and have not dropped the phone. Very disappointing. I'm going to give am film a try. Like said I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of the Whitestone glass. For those prices it should be a hell of a lot better. I hope this one is case friendly as well

    just tried the Amfilm install following your directions. Problem is the dispersal of the adhesive did not complete fully to the top of the phone. You should remove the sticker before curing the fingerprint area, mine now has the same image as the stickers.

    • @johnnytable6237
      @johnnytable6237 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is the image you are talking about showing the whole sticker including the tab part? I heard that with this protector specifically, the fingerprint sensor area is going to show a faint circle but it will be almost invisible when the screen is on. I think it's like that so that our fingerprints scan better.

  • @AhmadSendos

    • @ebpman
      @ebpman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you used the weight you should be fine. I install this often for my family and they work fine. Just did the same for my sons new note 20. The timing is important too for each cure area.

    UPDATE: after much reading all over the web... it seems that possibly the liquid in the middle moved too much to the edges rendering the middle depleted of adhesive and there is now glass touching glass. I guess the only thing I could do is buy another protector and try again OR it seems somehow moisture got between my screen during the installation. I live in New Orleans lol
    Please help... I actually used this video to install this screen protector on my brand new S21 Ultra and after doing everything exactly right... and I noticed this before I even started curing, there is a large spot where it's discolored. Like it had some kind of weird reaction with the screen protector. Has this ever happen to you. I noticed whitestone has one for $39.99 on sale from $69.99 should I try again?

      It hasn't been my experience with am film or whitestone. Keep in mind that I put on lots of cases and products. The cure process is key. See my video on removal of the screen I just did. That screen was on for some time with no issues. One thing don't do is put my phone in my back pocket like others might. This shifting if you sit on your phone would cause the screen to lift. I will post a Pic in 30 days

    You skipped too many steps and discussed things without showing them. I didn't notice the side pieces on the plastic part needed to make sure the liquid dispersed correctly and then ended up with liquid spilling off the sides. Not enough liquid stayed on the phone and I had to throw it out. I also almost didn't use the dry wipe. The fact that this product doesn't come with written instructions is one thing, but on your end, it's not good customer service to talk about some stuff in detail and skim over others.
