- In this full #review I will explain all the specs of the 2024 #dodge #hornet #gt #plus then take it for a test drive. The Hornet GT Plus has 268-hp out of a turbocharged four-cylinder that drives all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. Dodge shares the platform, steering wheel and more than half the suv with Alfa-Romeo that will lead to some quirks which will bring out the pros and cons.

I love this car. I can't wait to get one.
It reminds me of my old caliber srt4.
They are awesome
I have a 23 GT Plus with the Track Pack, Blacktop Pack, and the Tech Pack . It's awesome. I love it
Not much cargo room for the groceries if you got the kids with you!
I loved my 2008 srt4. Realtuned it to death and it was a blast
I have a 23 GT Plus with the Track Pack, Blacktop Pack and Tech Pack in Acapulco Gold. I love the csr. Totally worth every dollar
Congratulations and I agree with you on that they are awesome 👍
I really like the Acapulco Gold color!
Maybe a Porsche that's parked. 🤣
No a base Macan and you can buy a his and her with the price of the Hornet
@@HawkeyeRides But you'd be driving a Hornet. 🤣
@esteban1487 that’s why the price of these are awesome just think the saving on your services 😎
@HawkeyeRides Stellantis thanks you I'm sure but nobody wants a 4 cylinder R/T even if it is a Hurricane Jr.
It’s not saying much, but it’s probably much more reliable than the average Porsche.
this is a really nice car. very fast for the price too
I agree
These aren't selling.
Every time I go they are low with inventory which means they are selling them but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea 👍
@HawkeyeRides I don't know where you're going but these things are not selling.
@@esteban1487 I state my team on the video
@HawkeyeRides I don't know what that means but nationally these are NOT selling.
I've only seen 3 of these on the road so far, and two of them were being driven by staff from the dealership.
This car looks awesome! Im considering trading in my subie outback 3.6 Touring for a GT Plus. I would like to know if it is awd all the time like my subie is? Great video!
It is a full time awd 👍
Thank you! Am I crazy for wanting to trade in my 2017 Subaru Outback? 3.6L, I've heard it's an engine they won't be making anymore and I do really the engine! My main issue is the cooling system, I'm in South Texas and 90*F+ I just cannot idle my car. It doesn't overheat on the gauge but all the lights on the dashboard come on and won't turn off for a couple days!
@@MsNickiB1 if you don’t need the extra money I would keep it. I still regret trading one of my vehicles a few years back because now my son needs a vehicle, I could’ve used it to drive to work and saved miles on my new vehicle. However my vehicle had no lights and just hit 102k. If you have lights coming up I would trade it.
You’re welcome, good luck either way you go and let us know the outcome.
428 days supply as of Sept…these cars are NOT selling.
What can you do 🤷♂️
I really hope these do well. I’ve been noticing a lot of these in my area and I live in a pretty rural place.
They are nice vehicles 👍
Great review Anthony! That is a really nice looking SUV both inside and out. For the price it is well equipped. This should have ventilated seats and at least pull out thigh support. Hope that you had a great weekend.
It is a great vehicle but it does have room for updates. It was a great weekend getting ready for another busy week 😁. Thanks James
Anthony is my absolutely favorite
Thank you Jeffrey I appreciate that 👍
Stellantis missed badly on price point on great looking vehicle 😐 should be 25k-30k for a 1.3 liter turbo 🙄
They are nice looking vehicles 👍
You can get a Hornet GT base for $30,000 or so. You can get fully loaded GT plus for the same price as a base Hornet RT but you get so much more vehicle than the base GT. Worth the extra if you can afford it. Would not pay the $10,000 extra for the RT hybrid. When the RT hybrid battery is drained, your down to 177 hp from the 1.3L gas engine. The GT gives you a 2.0L 268hp all the time. I don't want to be bothered plugging in the RT every day or even every 2 or 3 days to recharge it. A great everyday performance oriented compact SUV that gets much better mileage than a muscle car. My wife has had one for 4 months and we haven't tried sport mode yet because the performance even without sport mode is terrific.
@@vindiesel5389 My experience exactly. The Hornet GT Plus is the sweet spot. The only thing I'd add is that the sport mode is great for the highway, as it firms up the steering and the suspension for better high speed control.
Price as tested?
The full sticker or msrp is within the first 2-15 seconds
What some of the commenters here don't understand is that an increasing number of drivers are over 50 and don't have kids but want the seating comfort in addition to the power and handling reminiscent of muscle and luxury performance cars they used to drive when they were younger. That trend was very noticeable before COVID, but then, the pandemic and the resulting rising prices threw everything upside down. I've test-driven the Hornet GT Plus. You can't find this horsepower and handling for the price in any other similar vehicle on the market. It's an excellent driver, but I'm still deliberating about the purchase because I didn't quite like the car's ergonomics: tight seating quarters and the entrance pillars at such a sharp angle that you're risking head injury if you're not careful.
To users that worry about the long-term reliability of Dodge vehicles: They are just fine for those of us who buy a new car every couple of years and who put a premium on performance, handling, and good looks over reliability.
Thanks for sharing 👍
I like it
Me too
Every Car is faster than A Porch..😂

No thanks. Fast but Alfa Romeo and Maserati parts does not inspire confidence for reliability. Fast but it's a wagon. Flat bottom steering wheel, cockpit style interior tight handling on a soccer mom segment. A Camry is sportier.
It’s a different and not everyone’s fav 👍
@@HawkeyeRides I can't wait for people to get tired of this segment as they did with minivans and we can finally get something different.
It really makes very little sense why a society that has fewer people having kids wants a family focused vehicles. The sporty coupes were at least fun.
If you think a Camry is sportier, then you haven't driven a Hornet GT Plus. As for reliability, modern Alfas are better than average. Toyota and Honda are both having serious problems with their new engines; the Hurricane4 in the Hornet has proven to be pretty reliable.
@@colinschmitz8297 Try getting a large dog or a week's groceries (or both) in a sporty coupe.
@@davidturgeon2087 a weeks groceries are no problem. Neither is the dog.
The design of crossovers are less sporty than a sedan. It doesn't matter what is done to the suspension or engine. It's just as much a mom mobile as a minivan.
Almost as fast as the Stelvio TI 2.0, only difference is the Stelvio has a 280 hp engine, which can be tuned to almost 400hp
These are both great vehicles 👍
Any turbo engine can be tuned to produce more power (usually at the expense of mileage).
70 grand and no ventilated seats thats a zonk for me no thanks.
Do you post this on the wrong video because this isn’t 70k it’s a lot let
The sticker is in the first 2-15 seconds of video 👍
bro this car is 36-40k
Slowest selling car right now…almost a year supply out there. Dodge will need to give them away to move units
I’ll take it for free 😁
Too expensive
I think its price good foe what you get
zzzzzzzz
✅
That's buzzzzz to you.
Great review 👍 but don't call it Dodge.
Thanks
