    After browsing YT for over 45 min, this is the only video that explains the floating backplate. I couldn’t find a tutorial using the updated AMD/AM4 bracket. Thank you so much for clearing up the confusion. You’re awesome!

    This part of the video 5:24 saved me from going crazy! I was wondering why there was such a big gap in between my motherboard and the bracket.
    Thanks for including these small details in your video!

    Thanks man! I literally ran into the issue you mentioned where I saw the backplate was floating and thought, "I'm gonna get this whole thing assembled and realize I'm missing spacers or something."
    You just saved me a ton of worry!
    Also, boo on corsair for making it so hard to find am4 instructions! They kept linking me to an older amd bracket that didn't even come in the kit!

    Dude, you saved me a TON of headache. Installed a new Corsair AIO and was getting 90 deg temps. I felt like the floating standoffs was buggy, but I was confident that wasn't the issue after I saw your video. Yours was the only video that showed the standoff mounting option vs the tension bracket. So with the knowledge that floating bracket was OK, I went back in to try to troubleshoot the mounting. Immediately I saw that only 3/4 of the thermal paste was transferred to the CPU.
    Apparently the standoffs have two different thread patterns, but I didn't pay attention. The more dense pattern matches the thumb screws and my issue was inverting one of the standoffs. I didn't screw it down far enough for complete contact. After your tip on pushing the backplate, it made re-installing the pump much easier and all the thumb screws went down smoothly. 40 deg at idle thanks to you.

    Thank you for including the note that it is supposed to be loose when it is not cinched down yet. I'm installing mine now and was worried about that. I'm just having one standoff screw not treading through properly. hoping it lines up properly on the next go.

    Glad to see a new video! Massive bracket support including Socket 1700 is nice. While the controller is proprietary, I do think it is set up more so for anyone that wants to do a Push/Pull with the extra 3 fan connections.

    • @TheTechBuyersGuru
      @TheTechBuyersGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You may be right that the extra ports on the Commander Core are mainly for push/pull arrangements, but a lot of Corsair users will have Corsair fans in their cases, so it's also good for that.

    Cheers!!!! Cool Video!! I Would like to as a question:
    Naturally You install the RGB fans on the inside so You can see the full effect of the lighting, but as they are they are sucking the warm air from inside the case and channelling it through the radiator, which should be receiving cool air.
    Shouldn't You reverse the mounting of the fans, and pull the outside air through the radiator? You would see the back fan structure, but the lighting effect would be there...

    You're so wholesome, im going to build my first PC soon and I really want to use this cooler. I've been doing tons of research into PC building and just want to say thanks for making things so clear. ♥️
    Edit: I realised you mentioned that you can control up to 6 fans. That would cover my 3 front fans and 3 top fans. What would I need to do to integrate a rear rgb fan?

    • @TheTechBuyersGuru
      @TheTechBuyersGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If going with Corsair RGB fans, you'll need another controller for the 7th fan. If the top fans are case fans, just use 2, 3 won't improve temps, and you can move that to the rear.

      Factory heatsinks are good, but as an alternative, I've found motherboard heatsinks to work well too. The problem with those is that they often trap heat around the chipset after removing it from the M.2 drive, so yeah, I like factory M.2 heatsink more.

    I had my PC built by a custom PC building company. My Corsair H150i Elite Capellix cooler was installed with the fans on top of the radiator facing towards the top of the case rather than being installed pointed down into the case. I am in the process of installing a new AIO (same type but slightly newer model) and I was wondering if I should make my new AIOs radiator fans facing down towards the case rather than having them on top of the radiator facing up. Nearly every PC that I see with an AIO cooler has the fans facing down rather than facing up like mine currently is. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    did you solve the problem with your mainboard where you have the fan error at 10:00 ? because you said you has to use the CPU_FAN header but the PUMP header is not working...is it still the same today or you could plug it on the PUMP header ?

      It worked fine once I switched to the CPU_FAN header. Just using the PUMP header did not work, but not because the header was faulty, just because something must be plugged into the CPU_FAN header.

    Can you comment on why you choose to use this as an exhaust system, blowing OUT of the case? isn't the idea behind using a water-cooled radiator to be a heatexchanger and this cool the air going into the case? it seems redudant and sort of wastefull to have a heatexchanger installed just to cool the air going out the case.. if the fans are radial, sucking the air out of the PC, what's the whole point then?

    • @slushy_17
      @slushy_17 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you find an answer??

    • @Vendoporter
      @Vendoporter 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@slushy_17 yes I have. The answer is, that when mounted like this (as an exhaust), the heat is transferred from the CPU up into the exhaust system through the waterpipe, and by having the fans blowing out of the case, it is essentially blowing the heat out into the PC's surroundings :) I just had a backwards picture, and thought the idea was for the heatexchanger to get very cold, and then blow air through it and into the cabinet - like a reverse radiator - but it is just a closed cooling cycle running from the CPU to the cooler, and then letting the heat out of the PC with fans

  • @roland1332
    @roland1332 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My H150i, bought early July 2022, does NOT have a USB connector coming out of the pump. Only out of the Commander Core. The pump head has only the proprietary connector to the Commander Core and the three pin connector intended for the CPU Fan header. Nor does the manual refer to a USB connector coming from the pump. All the videos I've seen, including this one, show a USB connector coming out of the pump. What gives? Was the cooler redesigned?

    • @TheTechBuyersGuru
      @TheTechBuyersGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check again. The Corsair manual actually shows it on Page 10. There's no way a Corsair pump can work without USB.

    • @roland1332
      @roland1332 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheTechBuyersGuru Nope, not on my page 10. Ok, I think I figured out what's happening here. There are TWO products, one with LCD and one without. I did not realize this. You reviewed the former, I have the latter. Doh. But no, there's no USB cable on my pump. It must get power from the USB to which the Commander Core is connected. Power must be passed back through the proprietary connector between the pump and the Core. I'll know for sure in a few days after my build is complete. Meantime, I'll remark that you made a good video, but it would be helpful for dumbos like me if you'd have pointed out the distinction between the two products. The non-LCD version is not a "previous" model - it is very much on the market right now.

    Can someone tell me how to save settings in ICUE? Every time I select the CPU temperature setting and I reset my PC, the LCD screen returns to water cooling temperature. The color spectrum also changes back to factory settings.

    Hi. I just installed yesterday a d of course had same issue. Pc started, display turn couple pics and then on display come like “machine wheel” ikon. Which mean probably pump don’t working. Just after watched your video I seen this little single cable I plugged to CPU FAN 3pin slot. I’m still not sure it’s the right place because I have on the right CPU WATER PUMP if I good remember name. But is 4 pins. So I’m not sure. I used 3 pin for 3 pin because I had previously NZXT aio cooler and all was working fine exactly with this slot. I need replace usb as you done because I used 19pin to double 9 pin splitter. Maybe this is another problem.
    Btw pc doesn’t turn on now, last time was shut down with this wheel on display and all fans was flashing red. So I disconnect power for night and try again today. Any suggestions please let me know. Greetings, Tom
    Ps
    Forgot to say- because aio previously had issue with issue message fan water pump don’t work- many people was suggesting to disable in bios. Because wasn’t physically fan there and system didn’t see it. Even to change that now I can’t because pc don’t turn up.

    Hi there, I’ve just done this install and placed the 1 pin in CPU fan part. However I seem to still be getting a CPU fan error. I read some forums and they said to set CPU fan speed to ignore. That didn’t help the problem because the computer would just turn off after 30 seconds due to the CPU temperature being too high. So I’m confused as to what I’ve done wrong. I’ve checked all connections and they seem to be fine. The LCD is pressed on and connected fine. Is there any other potential issues that I may be unaware of that it means it isn’t working?

    As many others I got an issue with this AIO. iCue doesnt display the screen setup even if we have the latest updates of iCue and about the AIO.
    Then, after less than an hour in game, the cooler goes to security mode cause he says "overheating"... But I really don't know why !
    There is my war machine :
    Case : Corsair iCUE 7000X RGB
    CPU : i7-12700k
    GPU : ZOTAC 3080 AMP EXTREME 12GB
    PSU : Corsair RM850x
    MB : NZXT N7 Z690
    I did a pretty good job in the cable management. The air flow is nice and the CPU is around 30°C idle (GPU fanless is about 50°C idle) and everything is connected where it has to about the AIO...
    I despair about this AIO that I thought was exceptional in view of the reviews

      Same here,it worked great on previous build. Now the software won't recognize the pump,half the time the commander and then other half only the sticks of ram.

      @@scottmiller7284 That's fixed here. I reviewed the wiring from controller to motherboard. It is connected to another commander core. Then twice going on the mobo.
      No more issue since months...
