As someone who now recently owns these kits, they have changed a bit since this video has released.
The starter kits now include 2 cables (1 shorter cable and 1 long 600mm cable) which helps you to link up to more and more sets of fans.
I picked up the starter kits which set me back $212 Australian, Which I think is reasonable, definitely not cheap by any means but with the addition of the extra cables now provided in the kits I think it is a bit more justified.
I'm happy to pay the more premium price for these fans since it's far far far easier to setup than typical fans.
The only real gripe I have with these is that there is currently no 140mm version.
Edit: Additionally another gripe I have is that the connections on the cables don't have any smaller form factors or such, 90 degree cables would be nice because the connectors are quite chunky and very stubborn when it comes to trying to manipulate the cable. They are very very fiddly to get plugged in in tight spaces like to the top front fan or the rear exhaust etc.

Yea it's getting way, way out of hand. Especially since we're all running AIO's now, which come with their own fans for the radiator, and the 4000 series is either super efficient or runs monster heat sinks like my 4080 suprim and the fans barely even turn on. At this point, case fans are a novelty, and I'm not having 1/4th the price of the computer tied up in a couple bucks of lighted plastic I don't even need. I bought a 6 pack of fans off amazon for like 30 bucks and they are gorgeous and have like 100 patterns in the controller, fuck corsair

To me, the internal temperature monitors are the headline, and the magnets and wire reduction is secondary. I ordered six Corsair fans, just yesterday, but they're all old-school (and much cheaper). I got a Corsair Shift power supply, because I got tired of trying to add and remove cables from basement-mounted power supplies. (My big case has no floor and lots of room, so the conventional layout works fine, there.)

You can only use them in either, AIO build or Air flow only. If using in a water-cooled build these fans become end of line, this is because you can only use one end for the Link cable and the other is blocked by the fittings coming out of the radiators. This is the problem I have now, might be turning down some fittings to make it fit.

I cleaned the contacts and moved them to different spots in the chain but would frequestnly have this issue. Got a new set of 9, similar issues. Bought the AL v2 and have had 2 go bad with bearing issues within a few months. I'm excited to expand the daisy chain model to other fans for sure. Bit pricey for now but this is a good shift for the industry in the name of cable management.

Also does it really use micro usb???? my current Corsair AIO uses USB c so micro usbis surely a step backwards?

It's a great system, I really think Corsair have nailed it when it comes to simplifying the mess of cables that normally occur with fan installation, but at the same time they're really taking the piss with some of the pricing. Single fans for £43-48 is daft, particularly when a single fan on its own is basically pointless unless you also buy the hub, which is £50. Compared to Lian-Li's AL120 V2 fans the Corsair system looks very, very expensive and I'm not sure it justifies the difference.

I had two Corsair static preasure fans in my computer for a few years. They were supposed to be silent fans but they were far from silent fans. Compared to the be quiet fans I now have in my computer the so called silent fans were loud.
I have the fans in my computer optimised to be as quiet as possible but move good air at the same time. The weakest link in my computer was the two Corsair fans for years.
In fact I had two akasa fans in my computer that cost a third of the price as the Corsair fans and they not only moved more air but they were a lot quieter than the Corsair fans.

Why pay Corsair US$160 for three ARGB fans when you can get three perfectly fine Thermalright ARGB fans for less than 10% of that (US$15.39). Daisy chaining three fan cables and three ARGB cables with Thermalright (no proprietary BS either) is well worth the US$144 savings. Rock on!

He must of not realized there is a 2nd mini/smaller cable in the box too which does allow to split on the 3 packs.
Unless they added it later but got 2 with mine a week ago in both the 3pks too. 2 longer and 2 shorter and was plenty to install 3 x controll box x2x1 on the otherside.
Still had 1 cable leftover actually even after plugging in both sides of the control box. Anyways expensive but they look great and super easy being able to adjust the fans rpm, curve ect. Also the cable management helps alot. Spec if your like me and have 8 case fans or more. Comes down to personal preference I guess.

I think you could link up the fans the corsair icue lcd elite xt AIO just link the fans to each other than connect them into the system hub and connect the command cores PCIe cable into that system hub in the PCIe port, but understand ur fans will be dependent on the core. Give it a shot if u have one laying around, If am wrong my bad. It didn't hurt to try, lol.

As an owner of the 420mm Corsair Link AIO & 10 of the link fans, I can confirm that they are not worth the money.
The only way you’re able to control the fans is Via the iCue app due to the lack of PWM - Motherboard connectors.
This would be fine if the iCue app was optimised, unfortunately it is not. My PC stutters, freezes & runs like garbage. So you’re essentially forced to use a garbage software just to control the fans/custom curves since they’re not accessible from the bios etc.
    Do not buy.

Hi everyone. I to myself have a full corsair setup in my system including the corsair 5000T RGB case with 13 LL120s all in white. I love corsair gear as much as the next guy or girl. Its expensive yes but you get what you pay for. QUALITY. Even down to the packaging with corsair. Before you get to the item in the box you know its gunna be of high quality. But i to think if you wanted to break the triple down to a single and a double were is your other cable? Also it is a massive P... take from corsair to charge what they are charging for a single fan and not have a cable in it. So i thought you touched on and made 2 very good points when you picked up on that. It is nice NOT TO have to hide all those cables if you have alot going on like my system has i have now but i won't be paying those prices for any of that. I plan to build a new gen 5 gaming system in march but i am going with the Lian lee set up in the 011 evo xl. And these prices are for the black corsair products. "wait till the all white is out" if its not already. I'm sure that will be even more. Nice video by the way.

I built a new PC just over a year ago. At the moment I have a Lian-Li O11 Dynamic XL case and 10 Lian-Li UNI SL120 fans. These were great to build with, due to the connections etc. However, these Corsair fans look even better. My fans cost me about £310 and I do love them. I don't think I could rip them all out and buy these Corsair ones as the cost to replace the 10 fans would be around £460! (just the fans, no AIO, just the fans, 3x 3 pack and a single) I thought that the cost of the Lian-li Uni fans was expensive, but the Corsair ones are ultra expensive. If I was building my PC now, I would probably buy them. but as I have really good fans already, I couldn't really justify the expense, even if I sold my Lian-Li ones!
I do agree, Corsair should have included a cable with the single fans, taking into consideration the single fan is between £42-£45. Plus it would stimulate more sales too.
Great Idea, works well and less cables, even less than the Uni fans I have. The cost is the problem though, if you have multiple fan positions to cover. You could get the AIO, which would give you 3 fans, but at the moment, the AIO head is a very boring 'just colours' no screen. I know it will come, but perhaps they should have had it available at launch, as I wouldn't go back to a non screen AIO now!

Im confused. I thought best practice is tubes at the top so tbst the oump doesn't have to work so hard against gravity

    • @Gulf76
      @Gulf76 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Air rises to the top. So if lines are at top you could be moving air with pump. AIO’s contain 2-10% air due to cost of manufacturing and to prevent pressure build up under high thermals. Air is compressible where as liquid is not.

I hope they have made an improvement on the LED's from the QL fan series.
Since I built my system 2 years ago which has 7 QL120's in, I have had to send six back due to failed LED's. Four of the replacements already have failed LED's on them and I just can't be bothered sending them back anymore and will probably not buy Corsair RGB fans in the future.
