Thank you for your kind words, Adam. It was a pleasure to meet you, and I’m glad to hear you did pass the booth, especially as I know how many meetings you had planned. Hope it was a successful event for you. All the best for 2024! Hopefully our paths cross again next year.
Thought of you today when I found a perfect copy of Freidman Freise's Terra in a charity shop. Well pleased! It's unlike your channel to go quiet for longer than a week or so. Hope you're well, Adam, and simply enjoying a well earned break.
Hi Bruce. Terra is a great game! Good find :) Yes, I have given myself a break for January after a very busy December on the channel. And I’ve been out of the country for a while. Will be back soon! :)
Hi Adam, i thought when no one picks up your prediction then you have to do it on your own. And as you also create a lot of kid games I'am looking forward to My little Terminator 😂 Also it's the first time I see your prediction video. I enjoyed it very much and will look forward to it in the future.
I hope you're right about innovation being the key for this next couple of years. It's something I think I'm pretty good at, and I hope I also am good at finding ways to integrated new ideas into systems in an elegant and learnable manner. I guess time will tell. Merry christmas, and congratulations on hitting your goals for the year.
Merry Christmas! May all your wishes come true next year (Congrats and Godspeed for your subscriber milestone!). My board game wishes for 2024 : - Playtesting, polishing the prototype, and self-publishing my roleplaying storytelling card game--which challenges on one particular human need : romance - Buying more big games (including Indonesian new board games about finance) and underrated small games. - Visiting a board game cafe for the first time (far away in a big city since I live in a countryside area) - Seeing more board games about creative industry (music, filmmaking, animation, video game development etc.)
My prediction is: with higher costs pusblishers and designers will direct to games with less components but deep strategie. This leads to multi used (card) games. ❤
Good prediction! I wonder if that will be the way it goes... The alternative is that the industry adjusts to accept the higher costs - and players accept higher prices at retail. I see no signs of high prices putting consumers off - they seem willing to spend an awful lot of money on the games that they want (even in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis). I think the obsession with innovation will trump cost-concerns, and we'll see expensive games with showpiece components. But it could go either way!!!
@@AdaminWalesI predict that the type of KS backers who complain about anything less deluxe than minis would drive some publishers into an arms race that would eventually have to terminate with the "nuke" equivalent, like rollercoasters and height records. This would then lead to more "midrange" innovations as the new gimmick
Yes, my mistake - I was mixing them up with Carl Robinson, the designer who lives in Brussels. Thanks for watching. I hope you’ll enjoy some of the vast number of other videos on the channel!
Yes, I saw!! Annoyingly announced right in the gap between editing the video and publishing it!! 😂 At least I already know that next year I’ll be able to report that one of my predictions/wishes came true!

I love the idea of more board games about the creative industry! :) And good luck with your card game.
Happy Christmas!
Merry Christmas Adam and thanks again for your amazing output. Always a delight to receive a notification for another of your videos being posted.
Thanks Craig. Much appreciated. Have a great Christmas.

Lovely video! It's the first I've watched and I immediately subscribed.
Isn't Wonderbow Games based in Hamburg, Germany? Not in Belgium?
Yes, my mistake - I was mixing them up with Carl Robinson, the designer who lives in Brussels.

Carl Robinson is a very good egg.
Great video as always.
Happy Christmas Dan - hope you and your family have a great time.
10:23 Good news! 'Die Quacksalber von Quedlinburg: Das Duell' (presumably to be known as 'The Quacks of Quedlinburg: The Duel') has been announced.
Yes, I saw!! Annoyingly announced right in the gap between editing the video and publishing it!! 😂 At least I already know that next year I’ll be able to report that one of my predictions/wishes came true!
I'd prefer the dinosaur themed Wingspan over Wyrmspan (just announced). Ah well, at least it's not fish themed. 😜
We miss you Adam 😢
I’ll be back! Just focusing on some “real life” stuff right now 😊
20k subs next year.
The background music in this, especially in the last minute was really loud and off-putting 🙁
