I have been a long-time fan of Acoustic Alchemy from the beginnings with Webb and Carmichael thru to the current Carmichael and Gilderdale. They are one of the world's premier jazz fusion bands, and the Against the Grain album is superb - every cut is good, and I had worn my copy out. Nick Webb must have freaked out, after Simon James quit the original Acoustic Alchemy, the first time he heard Greg Carmichael play . . . Nick left us too soon, but it's nice to see Greg carrying on with the concept.
No offense to this drummer but if Gavin Harrison could join this these guys for 1 album it would be unforgettable. If you have a nice stereo this is the band that makes you realize what real music love is.
Offense taken! That is Greg Grainger! Gavin is pretty damn awesome, but Greg is no slouch. He played with Earth, Wind and Fire, Whitney Houston, Kim Waters, Santana, Dave Navarro and Mark Tremonte to name a few.
LOVE Greg Carmichael. He's the brighter side of brilliant. I'll never get tired of listening to Acoustic Alchemy.

Why is that trouble? I always am super impressed with bands that improvise and sound better live. True musicianship at its finest!
