    This band has been one of my all-time favorites since the early eighties... their music literally saved my life...I was so sad and was so depressed ...they made me feel alive again! Greg Carmichael and Nick Webb we're absolutely magic together. Sadly, Nick left our world way too soon, thankfully Greg has continued their beautiful music with all these wonderful musicians to bring joy to the hearts of so many. God bless you all forever....🙏✌️❤️🎶

      Coincido...
      Su música llena mi corazón desde que era un joven universitario.
      Hoy con 61 años sé que mi juventud actual está ligada a ésta buena música.

      Sometimes I find myself getting mournfully nostalgic regarding Nick Webb - no question he was a powerhouse steel string folk-jazz guitarist, and young English actor, for those who do trivia. I myself find myself on occasion wondering ‘what would their latest melodies be like if he hadn’t passed?’ … but then I have to pause a moment to give credit where credit is due - Miles Gilderdale had really stepped up from his understudy role into being a real partner and friend to Greg Carmichael - he succeeded in the transition from being the “on the road John Parsons-Morris proxy” to the main [right hand] helm on the steel string and electric guitars. It was even stated that K web, Nick’s widow, had personally passed on Nick’s guitar to miles - if that is an epic, torch pass, christening, and or knighting, I don’t know what it is! Additionally, where Nick Webb had studied strings, Miles Gilderdale has studied brass, which was clearly evident in the “Aart” album. The band is foraging on - Nick would be so proud!

    What I appreciate most about this band - is their ability to perform excellent, almost studio-quality sound during live concert.

      You definitely get it...I saw them live in Houston years ago....I was stunned at how good they were live....

      Truly talent3d musicians and sound people usuall7 bring forth a quality which is comparable to if not better than in the studio. Acoustic Alchemu often sound even better live than in the studio. This performance is no exception . If o lythey produced an album of this I'd like to either own it or stream it I high resolution.

      I listen to a lot of genres of music but have to say this is my favorite group. They are so tight and intuitive with each other and are amazingly gifted and original. Somewhere I read that their goal was to "take you there". They DO!

    • @addonisryan
      @addonisryan ปีที่แล้ว

      That comes from using a talented audio engineer and good equipment. The band themselves are fantastic in their own right,that os true, it also takes an excellent Engineer who knows their sound and can get it right.

    • @addonisryan
      @addonisryan ปีที่แล้ว

      The"almost studio quality sound" comes from having a good audio engineer at the helm.Yes this bnd is great I've been to a live performance of theirs and to me it was better than the studio trcording..

    Simply incredible. That any persons could give this thumbs down shows us that this world is so accommodating, even to undesirable persons, otherwise people that are too genetically defective to have the attributes to appreciate the music of this group for its undeniable beauty. Variety is the spice of life. At time you just don't know how good you have it until you see the less fortunate amongst us. Many, many, many thanks. Love the band.

      So True, I chose them long ago as a bass player myself playing along with them is a favorite thing to lift my spirits. Many times in Jam Night venues I have asked "Know any Acoustic Alchemy?" answer is always the same "Who" I understand they were put together by record producers as opposed to the usual radio exposure and touring methods; however I found them, I am grateful for such beautiful ebb& flow upon great melody and rhythm. Frank Felix makes 5 string bass breath. I am Vinny Beard not Teresa K.

    I have many of this bands albums and have enjoyed everyone of them! I was working a project that seemed impossible for Lucent In Omaha. The deadlines were brutal and I needed some music to listen to with no words but was soothing and upbeat while I worked into the wee hours of the morning, night after night until I could once more get ahead of schedule. Anyway, what a blessing to listen to this music to keep me upbeat and motivated.

    "Playing for time" ....was the first selection I ever heard, I caught it in mid play on an FM station whilst on vacation in a foreign country. I was so seduced by the sound I rang the radio station and begged the station master to look through the playlist and tell me the name of the song. He understood my terrible portuguese and give me the title and the band name. That was 20 years ago, haven't stopped listening. No words can describe my gratitude for their stellar work. Thank you!

      it's never too late to learn an instrument, i'm 40 years old with full-time job, i though it's impossible and too late till a friend who plays guitar convinced me to go for it so i bought a guitar 2 years ago and it started to pay off after few months keeping in mind some days i don't have time to practice at all and if practice it's for an hour or 2 max, my passion is Flamenco music which is so hard to learn specially if self taught as in my case, i still didn't reach my goal of course but i did things i thought it was impossible before many many years of practice specially if not dedicated like me and self-taught so now i know it is doable to reach my goal it's just a matter of time and practice. just go and buy the instrument you want to learn and you won't be able to resist the temptation to learn.

    1:11:00 the way that bass solo ends still gives me goose bumps. After playing the guitar myself for close to 30 years, hearing this makes me want to take up ping pong or something. Such a powerful reminder that there are levels to everything in life. So much respect for these guys for being actual professional musicians. Something we lack terribly in todays music.

    Discovered this band in 1988 and have been a huge fan ever since. Finally got to see this band live in Milwaukee in 2015. Unfortunately Greg Carmichael couldn't tour that year because his wife had meningitis. Steve Oliver filled in for him. Their songwriting and arrangements is what sets them apart. To maintain this level of quality for 35 years is amazing !!!

    Acoustic Alchemy
    Su música creció conmigo y me a acompañado en éste hermoso trayecto llamado vida desde que era un estudiante universitario.
    Noches de estudio intenso, enfocado con elevada concentración y muy relajado a la vez.
    Ha sido mi música para estudiar, para leer, para viajar en carreteras interminables y acompañar una copa de vino con una sonrisa hermosa a mi lado.
    Ése es el soul, el espíritu de Acoustic Alchemy para mí.
    La música de mi vida..
    Hoy con 61 años sé que éste grupo, que está banda será eterna y vivirá para siempre.

    Brilliant band! My brother introduced me to them 30 years ago this year. For a while, one of their songs was the theme tune to the BBC's "Gardener's World" (mid 90s). Saw them twice at the Stables, Milton Keynes and once at a jazz club down in Surrey. Wish they did more British gigs, but I suspect there's not enough of a crowd at the venues. Acoustic Alchemy, you guys rock!

    here we are in '19 and while I"ve heard of them for 10+yrs., they weren't on my radar much but watching this video; listening to their music-particularly seeing Nick Webb so enjoying playing with such a passion and interacting-taking the experience all in....what a sense of humor too, knowing he's been gone for so many years it does bring some sadness watching this but really makes me appreciate their music and for all of us another life lesson to not hold back. do what you're passionate about with those you really care about as none of us know how much time we have left.

    I saw these guys [edit: not 30+ years] 20+ years ago when it was just Greg Carmichael and the late Nick Webb (along with a bassist whose name I cannot recall) in Dayton, Ohio, USA - Wonderful show.

    These guys are still absolutely awesome. I love listening to the live acoustic music in my car with sun roof down on a sunny day. Really sets my mood to positive! RIP Nick Webb 43 years old. The new guy can bring it on, I'm glad to see Greg out touring and playing the old songs they wrote. I'd like to see Greg play a couple songs with that young Italian kid Matteo Mancuso, that kid has the raw talent thing in spades, and plays acoustic guitar. Matteo might learn a thing or two, keep it smooth.
