Luigi, the Green Mario, the green machine. He has been pushed to the side and swept under the rug so many times, it has become its own tired joke in the Nintendo fandom. However, if we were to look at the other Mario Brother, we would see a total original. Where Mario has become dull, flat and static, Luigi is dynamic, expressive and totally his own man. Nintendo even gave him his own year to celebrate all the things he has accomplished. Some of us may have a favorite Nintendo character whether it be Samus, Fox McCloud or Donkey Kong, but there is only one underdog we should all be rooting for. Luigi!
We have seen our favorite green plumber take on more than Goombas. We have seen him take on ghosts, viruses and his own insecurities. When it comes to the Mario Bros., there are just some things Mario can’t do that Luigi excels at and this is what we are looking at today. These are some of the things Luigi can do that Mario can’t. Actually Luigi jumped higher than Mario earlier back in Super Mario Bros. 2, in both the American and Japanese versions (aka; Super Mario Bros. 2 USA and The Lost Levels respectively). Also I'm all but certain that Super Mario Bros. 3 is one of the games where Mario & Luigi play EXACTLY the same, considering that Player 1 is always Mario & Player 2 always Luigi it'd be really unfair to have both characters play differently.

Even in the gba version of the game, he couldn't jump higher, despite being playable in single player mode. He did get his different look and jump animation tough.

Luigi's higher jump actually appeared in Super Mario Bros 2 (The Lost Levels) in Japan which came out in 1986. Super Mario Bros 2 (USA) came out in 1988.

I wouldn't say Mario doesn't have a personality. I love how I can project my own thoughts and feelings onto him so I feel more like I'm him. It's true he's underdeveloped, but that's what makes him so fun to write for in comics and cartoons, you can take him just about anywhere. I dunno, must be the kid in me that always loved Mario more.

In my Opinion, Luigi is the Bravest Character in the Whole Mario Franchise, Sure Mario is Fearless but Luigi doesn't have to be Fearless to show how Brave he truly is, True Bravery isn't about being Fearless, True Bravery is doing the right thing no matter how scared you are 😊 Luigi always does what's right no matter how much he shakes, chatters and screams in fear.
