  • Rossini's William Tell Storm Scene is a pretty infamous trombone excerpt. Requires a lot of slide coordination, articulation and an ability to keep cool calm and collected in the middle of the storm. Not perfect, but a lot of fun to play :).
    I am going to start teaching private lessons again! If you're interested please fill out a form! forms.gle/PEG1...

    • @sorntorkelson6119
      @sorntorkelson6119 2 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      My guess is that it's just perspective due to the slide cam. The slide (and camera attached to it) move exactly in parallel with the rest of the instrument, so it probably just looks really still because everything is moving together. You can even see that compared to the background, the trombone is moving quite a bit.

    • @dylanwarner7009

    @Trombone Timo I'm not a trombone player, so I'm wondering about this. In that clip, you were holding a B for two measures, and then you played the run starting with the B. You played the same note and did two separate slide positions. I'm just curious why.

    • @christophersmith1889
      @christophersmith1889 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey, ik I am not Timo, but I am a trombone player. Since this excerpt has a lot of chromaticism, we are generally told to minimize direction changes. As a result, he comes into trigger second off the D for one B, then for the next run, goes out to 7th for the B in order to play the chromatic run up the slide in order to minimize direction changes and generally making it easier and cleaner.
