thank you for the vid, helped me out....i have 33,000 on a 2015 and my front right went out. My thing is dealership did scanner NO CHARGE for you. They hit me for 108.00. Then i bought it for 39 at Advanced Auto. They wanted to do everything for 390.00...I saved money watching ya vid and worked out great.
Thanks for uploading this video! Super accurate, we had the smae issue with that plastic bolt breaking- had to dig it out with a small screwdriver. Bought the tool you recommended and totally helped with removal of the wire. Replacing this part was almost as easy as changing a tire. Saved me about $400 from getting it done at the dealership. Tool I would recommend that is not used in the video, an impact driver. Helps get the bolts on and off with ease.
Hey, thanks for showing where to stick the screw driver I spent an hour messing with it and found your video and had it out in 5 minutes. Good looking out! She’s running great now!
Video said what I had already figured out.....getting that connector unconnected on the 2008 Compass w/ 186K was gonna be the hard-part "NO ROOM TO WORK"....figured I'd watch some videos 4A (MAYBE) shortcut...oh well back to the garage.
I did mine without removing the tire .... i used a swivel socket set idk if thats the name for it but its like a flexible cable that attached to my drill and the socket on the other end it took 10 min
So if the speed sensor is broke then your cruise control won't work ? Both my lights just turn on but earlier before that my jeep would jerk like it's a transmission problem would this sensor affect the transmission too ?
I have the same issue, haven't scanned it yet, but I'm mostly sure it's the same since I hit a pothole and the lights on the dash started to show up. Also when I accelerate from a stop, the engine dies, or even when I'm in motion or indo a hard turn. It's weird.
If you can't get your hands in the space to disconnect the connector that just might be the best option. I will try to get the connection apart but Plan B is there.
I'm not sure what kind of bluetooth I should buy...there are a lot of them on eBay and the price is since $6.00 to more than $100.00 so what kind of bluetooth do you think I should buy?. Thanks!
Great video. My Jeep Patriot Latitude is a piece of crap. Both front wheel bearings failed at just 38,000 miles, then my alternator went, then my AC compressor, then my abs-traction control module. My Jeep only has 51,000 miles on it today in 2018, and it's a 2014... Everything failed between 38,000 - 45,000 miles. I bought a Jeep "Patriot" because I wanted to be patriotic. Then discovered the crap car is made in South Korea. Is this a true Jeep? Why not rename it, KoreaJeep? Or a lemon? I now am forced to drive in 103 degree humidity, I am 58 years old, and pray the Jeep executives reap the Karma they sow. Thanks again for showing Jeep victims how to cope with this vehicle. Buy pre-73 next time.
Do you beat the shit out of it or what ? Our 2014 Jeep Compass now has 48k miles and we have had no real issues out of it at all. In fact, the RF Wheel sensor is basically the only real problem we've had out of it. BTW, back to the wheel sensor issue. Folks "may" get lucky by simply cleaning off the sensor and saving themselves $35. Worth a shot anyways. Good luck.
It is amazing to me how one owner no issues and another owner tons of issues. The worst two cars I owned were hondas. I own two fords and they were the best cars.

Thanks for this, I was struggling getting the damn thing disconnected. On a side note we have the same Jeep, the same shoes, and the same step ladder.

2016 jeep patriot -Dealer Service cost to repair-$427 ($95 Part-Balance labor)
Great video
What about a video replacing an ABS Module on a 2009 Jeep Patriot?
What are the symptoms the car does when the sensor is bad? Trying to figure out for my Jeep compass 2013. I only have the traction control light on.
cruse won't work
@ross reed most likely front wheel sensor(dealer can hook up and Tell you, they didn't charge me)possible caliber stuck, you said engine lugging!
Just cut the wires going to the old one, splice in the new one. Done.
If you can't get your hands in the space to disconnect the connector that just might be the best option. I will try to get the connection apart but Plan B is there.
do you have to take the liner cover after taking tire off. gonna be doing this on my gf truck 9 bucks at amazon btw
How did you know which one of the 4 sensor was the bad?
Ricardo Romero He had it scanned. The scanner will say which one is it. I did the same thing and it turned out to be same sensor.
How did you reset the light?
By replacing the sensor and then driving it a short distance.
Had you watched the video, you would've had your answer.
You can always check your clockspring angle sensor.
Stil have this jeep?
