Well these days, the mechanic/technician is diagnosing with the help of an OBD2. They plug in the scantool and it lists the codes. Pretty much everything is monitored by the ECM ( Engine Control Module ), some people call it the Engine Control Unit, but the correct term is Engine Control Module.
Have you tried the Nitrile gloves? They are latex free and easy to work with! Thanks for the GREAT video! Lots of great viewing angles and instruction!
I replaced my passenger side sensor months ago and now my abs light came on again showing "erratic behavior" front the left one. And now the scanner says it is the right one again. Sometimes my jeep struggles to accelerate it is like it is braking.
Something to keep in mind when diagnosing with a OBD2, not all scantools will read ABS codes. It is imperative that the tool used reads ALL codes., If your OBD2 tool doesn't, turf it and buy one that is capable of reading all codes.
It doesn’t really really matter those calipers aren’t super heavy but a bungee cord holds them well or a zip tie. Oh try Nitrile gloves! I’m also allergic to latex
I had the codes read on my 2014 jeep patriot. It told me I had a bad abs sensor on the left front, I replaced the sensor, but the codes remain active. Wondering if I got a bad part, if a reset of some kind beyond disconnecting the battery is necessary to reset it
After reading your comment, I can pretty much guess you didn’t watch the video to see why I pulled the axle and what was getting on the sensor, causing it to malfunction you must’ve wrote this comment just looking at the thumbnail 😂
My 2009 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has the ABS, traction control, and ESP BAS lights on. Hooking a computer up to it it throws a code for the rear right wheel speed sensor. I had that sensor replaced and those 3 lights are still on. When I turn the vehicle on the lights are on. When I put it in drive and take off they go away. Until those lights come back on I can feel there’s an issue with braking in the pedal itself and sometimes I can feel the vehicle braking while either accelerating, just driving, or taking corners. After a little while those 3 lights come back on and it drives just fine, no more braking. Clearing the codes it throws one back as the rear right wheel speed sensor. What’s the deal?
i paid $500 to change bearings and axel in front passanger becuse of heacy clicking .. turns out it wasnt that and the lights are showing ABS ,, now when i turn left it clicks
you need a new mechanic immediately ! just from your description it sounds like you need axle shaft u-joints (unless that is what you meant when you said "change bearings and *axle* ") (not really sure what vehicle you have, but this is assuming you are talking about a solid axle jeep. maybe a cv axle if it is ifs)
Where are you located? Can I bring my Jeep to you to find why my light is on also,... the IBS is not one but the other one with the car and squiggly lines is?😁
It’s crazy I have tried all types, but if I wear a pair of gloves any length of time my thumbs lock up I know that sounds stupid but that’s what happens
What do you mean by limp mode? The only thing it does on a jeep is basicly keep you from using cruise control for the most part. Usually it's an issue just like the one in the vid. There's a censor that knows when something isn't working correctly and causes the light to come on, but the issues and problems from this will vary by make and model.
They have none latex gloves! We use none latex on everything because my wife and my kids have latex allergy. Latex ban-aid will actually eat through my daughters skin.
Someone’s put spacers on that hub .. that drive shaft will fail again … you put spacers on vehicles you widen that track out of factory specs … you didn’t even notice that … you never really explained at all why it failed ..it’s those wheel spacers ,. Those things are illegal here in Australia
They are legal where we live, my guess would be the axle was worn because the excessive miles we see that a lot around here. I haven’t come across one yet that has spacers, and the axles went out because of the spacers. But I guess anything is possible.
I would look for a shop that has been around for a while, preferably a mom and pop business (but I’m biased) and go with your gut. Also word of mouth is another excellent way to find one. Good luck!
Its really hard to find a good mechanic that knows how to properly diagnosis problems. This was a great video

Very nice. Straight and to the point. No stupid music or yammering on and on.
Thanks
Will that brake fluid leak into the sensor when that line brakes
All I need is a lift , an the tools , an a place to hang my phone, I got this 👍.
Have you tried the Nitrile gloves? They are latex free and easy to work with! Thanks for the GREAT video! Lots of great viewing angles and instruction!
I went over a pothole & both lights immediately came on my 08’ lol great video!
Thanks
So did you have to also replace the sensor or did cleaning it fix the issue?
Oh nice. Was looking for if the sensor should be free of debris/grease, and looks like it should be. Thanks
Glad it helped
Great video. Straight forward and to the point.
thanks
I thought you said easy fix, and then you pull the whole damn assembly apart.
You're good you're good wow I wish you were located in Connecticut
thanks
Did you replace that? I’m in CT too. I need jeep mechanic
Thanks …. I’ve got the same issue

Put a scanner on it and drive it and see if all the wheels are reading the same speed
@@AutoRepairTips757 sure thing thanks
Dude went in for a wheel speed sensor and had to buy a new axle...sheesh
This is wonderful knowledge!
Thank you sir!
Thanks

Nitrile gloves (latex free)
Great video. Very informative. 👍🏽
Glad it was helpful!
Are you supposed to let that caliber just hang by the hose
These wranglers are supposed to conquer the rubicon, but a little mud/grease can fault a sensor?
I thought that you were not suppose to let the caliper just hang like that?
It doesn’t really really matter those calipers aren’t super heavy but a bungee cord holds them well or a zip tie. Oh try Nitrile gloves! I’m also allergic to latex
Correct. You're not
Lol
I've never NOT let them hang if I had too. As long as they aren't just dropped to dead weight
I was thinking the same thing. Lol
I had the codes read on my 2014 jeep patriot. It told me I had a bad abs sensor on the left front, I replaced the sensor, but the codes remain active. Wondering if I got a bad part, if a reset of some kind beyond disconnecting the battery is necessary to reset it
My abs and traction control turn on and off and sometimes even the check engine turn on does this affect the transmission
Not sure what you mean
Yes it does
Great job. I'll try this.
Great video.it helped me out
guy knows what hes doing
I'm having the same issue with abs. Is that popping noise I hear when stopping and turning my axle?
Me too in the front I’d like to know
Thank you for this!
awesome video. Thank you.
Very good video for sure...aside from driving and filming. Although it looked like a back road.
Thanks 👍 and it was a back road LOL
What do you charge for new seals I got a quote for 2200 for seals and shocks to be put on
I hope you know you can do the rear without taking apart anything. The sensor pops right out from the back side
After reading your comment, I can pretty much guess you didn’t watch the video to see why I pulled the axle and what was getting on the sensor, causing it to malfunction you must’ve wrote this comment just looking at the thumbnail 😂

I would have to run some tests this is one of those jobs I need to look at
Nice 👍🏾
Great video. But I don't call it an EASY FIX. :)
This is a phenomenally easy fix
i paid $500 to change bearings and axel in front passanger becuse of heacy clicking .. turns out it wasnt that and the lights are showing ABS ,, now when i turn left it clicks
New bearings and axle? Do you hear the noise from the right or the left side when you turn
Prob the rocker clicking, happened to me
you need a new mechanic immediately !
just from your description it sounds like you need axle shaft u-joints (unless that is what you meant when you said "change bearings and *axle* ")
(not really sure what vehicle you have, but this is assuming you are talking about a solid axle jeep. maybe a cv axle if it is ifs)
Possibly tie rod, but I don't think that will trigger the abs.
Tow company pulled me out of the ditch from ice storm. Now my abs lights come on and off. Every few minutes
They may have pinched a wire
@Auto Repair Tips thanks for replying I went off after 4days of driving on freeway
Thank you
Welcome 😊
Hold up doesn’t that mean there’s an inner axle leak?
How much does new axle cost?
I don’t remember the exact price, but you can find some online. Had a great deal.
I have tcs , abs lights with no codes on scanner
Some spacer will do some of that damage
whats the name of the single axle part?
Easy fix… (proceeds to replace axle)
Not an easy fix bro
It’s really A pretty easy job if you just take your time it’s not that difficult
Looks pretty easy to me. Take about an hour in the driveway. Beats paying a shop to do it.
Pro skillz
What that part call in front traction control
Where is the easy fix? I don't see the easy part of this. Click bait.
Oh hush! Everyone owns a lift, air compressor, air ratchet, special tools, lots of money for parts and time!!!
Where are you located? Can I bring my Jeep to you to find why my light is on also,... the IBS is not one but the other one with the car and squiggly lines is?😁
I’m in Va
You can buy latex free gloves.
It’s crazy I have tried all types, but if I wear a pair of gloves any length of time my thumbs lock up I know that sounds stupid but that’s what happens
can this cause a car to go into limp mode?
What do you mean by limp mode? The only thing it does on a jeep is basicly keep you from using cruise control for the most part. Usually it's an issue just like the one in the vid. There's a censor that knows when something isn't working correctly and causes the light to come on, but the issues and problems from this will vary by make and model.
Don't let a caliper hang by the hose like he did in this video.
Try nitrile gloves!
They have none latex gloves! We use none latex on everything because my wife and my kids have latex allergy. Latex ban-aid will actually eat through my daughters skin.
Nicrile gloves bub
I wish I could but when I wear gloves it does something to my thumbs and I can’t bend them it’s crazy
put Vaseline lotion on n powder ..so the grease doesn't stick wen u wash ur hands ,thank me later

Misleading where’s the “easy fix”
No not a easy… not going down this rabbit hole with you
I had the same problem, but fixed it with Seafoam.
Where did you put the seafoam?
WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST IN ORDER TO FIND A GOOD MECHANIC IN MY AREA? LMK 🫶🏼🤍💯
I would look for a shop that has been around for a while, preferably a mom and pop business (but I’m biased) and go with your gut. Also word of mouth is another excellent way to find one. Good luck!
