Hour long process for me, now onto getting my sunroof out to wrap that suede too🎉. Thank you great video, I also only took one of my back door panels off/ headrests and the front seats all the way leaned back and tilted back. Glad I didn’t have to take the front seats out.. came out the back door
The manual actually calls for two people removing the headlining out, on sedans it is done through rear door, on tourings (E91) it goes out through the trunk, both persons holding it slightly folded in U-shape. You got everything right and even managed it solo.
Yo! Thank you for this video! 4 years later and it helped out my dad and I to reupholster the headliner. We did not remove the front seats or the panels. We were able to wiggle it in the same rear driver door. Installation was the same way!! Thank you!
Dude you absolutely rock!! I have watched every one of these videos from disassembly to finish and you are very informative! Big ups from Houston Tejas 👏 👌 🙌 💪
Thanks for posting this, it's perfect! FYI I was able to pull an E90 headliner out through the front passenger door after moving the seats back as far as possible and reclining them all the way back. I was ready to pull the door off if I had to, but the headliner came out no problem.
Thanks for showing this video. I had different ways of popping off some of the clips but this this kind of given me some ideas on how to do some of the other areas. Grateful for the video.
Hi! This Toutorial was very helpfull to me :) Thanks to You i know what to do next. It took me 2,5 hour to replace headliner from standard to black m-sport. I don't know if this will be good tip, but you can easly remove and put headliner by rear passanger door. It goes very smooth then. I noticed that when you remove shift knob, the headliner have much more space to get out from the interior. Thank You and all the best! [BMW e90 2011 LCI, 4-doors, sedan, no rooftop]
You did very well I am a upholster and I work on these German cars and the roof liners are a pain to get out you have to flex the liner and bringing it though the back door is easier here in brabados the lining drop down often as it's hot here, Japanese cars are easier to work on, putting back in you have to flex it, but great Job and excellent video as always
Thanks! Yeah its a tight fit getting that board out! The rest of the videos on recovering the headliner and sun visors in suede will be out in a week or two. I did these videos separate so that the headliner video didn't end up being crazy long. I hope you guys like them!
Nice video with great information. My BMW is leaking inside from the sunroof I am guessing and gravity is making it leak to the back pillars. So I am guessing the rear drains are clog. Are you able to see this drain lines/ tubes without taking the front portion? Thanks in advance for your time.
Hey, appreciate the video. I took off the entire window stripping. Does anyone have any pointers on how to reinstall? I can’t seem to get it to line back up, which makes no sense, given the tubing already made it on once. Thank you.
I meant here in Barbados but I have found ways of removing it with out removing the seats but seat removal is easier but keep the excellent videos up next do a video on door panel inserts as in replace the worn leather or fabric

Dude, this video is great. Thanks alot! Do you by any chance have any tips on the sunroof drains? Mi rains see to be clogged and its been raining where i live so my headliner, drivers side gets wet (visor area) and A pilar. Last night we had a lot of rain so even the floor mat got wet (im guessing water was dripping from visor onto floor). I would really appreciate any help on this. Thanks in advanced!
I don’t know why I gave you so much trouble. I got it out the back door without barely bending it at all, but I know somethings could be harder for other people. People usually make it look easy and videos and then for me ends up being a pain in the ass.
@@gwapo3927 Lol not sure why he contradicts himself at 2:00. I do this professionally and I’m well aware you don’t have to remove the seats on this particular model.

@@Xanadu98 Orlando, Florida. there are plenty of businesses that specialize in vehicle upholstery and sunroof repair. although, for my beamer it might cost a few hundred in labor just based on the complexity of what I'm seeing in this video.
All of that just to take out headliner? wtf I'm really starting to hate this car and now I understand why people charge so much to fix things you have to take a bunch of stuff apart to get to something simple smh
The seatbelt covers are not as easy as he makes it look. He must have broke them prior to the video. Because mine have a death grip and i have already broke one. He needs to be more discriptive on how its held in and the direction it should be pulled.
I did not brake any part during this project. If I did I would have also shown how to repair that as well. Plastic trim parts are fragile and you need to be careful when removing them.
Oh, it only takes 20 minutes, I thought I would spend the whole day! Great vid, thanks

I wonder if I could get the liner out through the boot as I have a touring e91
Thanks for the video!
Do you think it'd be possible to take the headliner out through the trunk by bending the back seats down?

Would this be similar on the e60? I can’t find a video to remove the headliner.

sweet. I thought I'd have to take the windscreen out
What year is this model?
Had the adhesive degraded in this 12 y/o BMW or was suede an upgrade? I'm asking if it NEEDED to be fixed or did the owner just want a fresh look?
The foam under the headliner was starting to fall apart.
Sweet
Some people take off the front windshield to replace the headliner
What’s the labor hours on this?
You have to remove the center console and passenger side front door
How much would you charge to replace the headliner? Just curious if the quotes I'm getting are competitive.
To replace the headliner or just recover the headliner?
My man!
how much fabric/material is needed to re-do the headliner?
4 yards
that was very helpful in removing the headliner. it looks like a pain in the butt. I wonder how much i'll be charged to have someone do this for me.
After seeing it? To much work for a lazy guy like me. But thanks for the detailed information.
Sometimes I wish these videos would have a timer in the corner so I can see how log it took.
I took mine out with seats in place

hahaha
I don't have any words dud
Front windshield removal is easy and you don't fold the liner
I took the headliner out without removing seats

which door did you go through and what angle? my headliner is sagging and im going to put new glue and fabric. Thank you in advance
So basically take the car completely apart
Haha! Well the engine and tires can stay but yeah most of the interior has to come out.
I feel like theres a quicker way to do this lol

Where at?
