That’s meant for the Joy Con drift though, not for damage caused by the consumer. That’s like buying a banana at the grocery store, and then returning it because it fell on the ground on your way home. It’s still perfectly edible, it’s just a little bruised now. If you opened it and it was moldy, then it would be a different story, because that’s comparable to the joy con drift. If it’s the manufacturer or the sellers fault, it’s ok, but if it’s your fault, you shouldn’t abuse systems like this.
@@scrumdiddilyashton 🤡 + it’s clearly for the drift because why else would they give you a new controller for free? They won’t make any more sales on controllers if they exchange them no matter what because then everyone eventually has one and they’ll just keep exchanging their pair for new ones. Maybe YOU need to check YOUR facts on consumerisms before you butt in with your snarky attitude and chastise me.
They will repair your joycon.... With the same faulty plastic part that will wear out again in no time. Just buy the metal ones and DIY! So satisfying to fix something yourself and with a better quality part that will last. It just takes a little patience but anyone can do it.
But the word free is real tempting tho

Just don't use metal, because you'll start wearing the switch itself. It'll more expensive repair down the road

This mainly happens if you forcibly slide it out without clicking the button. Ive sent mine in the past and they came back perfectly fine but if you dont want to not use ur switch consider getting another controller or something
they pop off by themselves whenever I drop my switch so yeah, that causes it to happen too

There is option to repair switch system itself but you pay for it.
I’ve just replaced mine in both pairs of joycons I own. They now lock perfectly and don’t slip out during play as happened before. I’ve never repaired any piece of electronics before so that tells you the process is relatively simple. I did make a couple of mistakes along the way however. For anyone out there thinking about doing theirs this may help:
1: when taking the 4 screws off on the back, press firmly against the screw head to loosen it then unscrew as normal. Take care not to damage the head of the screw. I dropped one on the carpet and have not been able to find it. Perhaps do it on a white towel!? The ones provided in the Amazon pack (I bought) were useless imo.
2: When you prise open the joycon be careful with the 2 ribbon cables as I accidentally knocked both out on one attempt. When I put the middle one back the lights identifying which number joycon wouldn’t work. I found a vid that explained I had to lever out the battery, take out 3 screws from the plate to remove it and get access to the ribbon connector. I opened the clip, fed it in and pushed the clip down: it works perfectly now.
3: There is a small screw that needs to be removed so you can remove the back plate making it easier to work with.
4: After unscrewing the metal plate holding the plastic bit you are replacing, take a flat headed screwdriver and gently lever out the metal plate. When you take out the plastic piece be careful not to lose the spring.
5: When replacing the plastic piece for a metal one, realise there is a left and right bit so make sure you put the correct one in. I hadn’t fully read the instructions and missed this. Dumb luck of 50/50 meant I got them the right way around.
6: when putting the plate back on don’t over tighten the screw (as I did) as the button will stick. You can test this (as I should have) before reassembling.
7: Reassemble ensuring you fold the ribbon cables in the right way so as not to damage them and enjoy a controller whose joycons no longer slip out.
I just use tape, works well if you tape it in the right postion

You could also put electrical tape on the bottom part of the console were the joycon ports are

I have that problem and it’s absolutely horrible since every time I move my hands while playing, my joy cons disconnect. Unfortunate this videos did not help me since for me the problem is where the joy cons connect to the switch. So on the switch is the problem not the joy cons.

The problem with that at least for me is that they will randomly disconnect while I'm playing my game

Could you do a diy for cracked/broken joy sticks for the 2ds xl and 3ds xl without taking it apart? I am way to afraid to take it apart myself and I don't want someone else doing it either.

I just had both my drifting Joy Cons fixed but they still don't move up at full speed! What could've gone wrong? Almost every console repair I've had done, something goes wrong! Mega CD recapped? Some sounds still missing! PS2 laser replaced? Can't get past the first loading screen! (May be an issue with the modchip I had installed)

Wait people actually have a problem with it sliding off I'm personally ok with it?
It leads to other problems and means it's breaking and soon buttons may be unresponsive and unusable
You know the problem is if you have a Splatoon 3 one and send it in they dont send the right one back

They’ll send you the standard Grey and black ones back. They don’t actually repair them, they just send you new ones 🥴 it’s ridiculous.
My joy con’s won’t slide off with the button pressed down

Just put a rubber band on the black part that connects to you switch
The REAL and BETTER way to fix this is to put a few layers of tape on the side of the Nintendo switch “tablet” where the joycon usually rests on handheld mode. The whole idea is that it will wedge in between the joycons and the switch “tablet” when the joycons are inserted into the switch, making it wayyy harder for joycons to move/fall off. You’re welcome

Cuz I'm in Russia I can't send them to fix slide problems, so I doing it myself
How to fix those who move back and front? Feels like its going to break. I dont talk about slide, feels like they are going to fall apart.

had my Nintendo switch oled for four days and the joycons are really loose the the back stand is also a little wiggly. When I dock the switch I can push it forward and backwards so easily. The joycons are so easy to slide on and off it feels as if they aren’t sturdy. Can you provide me with some useful advice on what to do?

It is free, or atleast it was for me.
If it is tear and wear kinda damage, then it is free, but if they detect it was misuse or the Joycon was modified, they will make you pay.
Now would the problem be the switch console itself meaning the screen or is it the joycons
