Im always awake at 3 am there , the roosters for miles will make sure of that, It is the best time of the day to sit on the beach and relax watch the lights and the fisherman push the bankas out.
I brought my granddaughters to see Moana II in the theater and there is a little girl that reminds me of Mel’s little shadow in the movie. I believe she is Moana’s sister. Very cute and bubbly. Gotta run but hope all is well.
I chuckled to my self watching the 4 workers carrying the beverage chiller…one guy doing a good job with the heavy end. Probably had to be that way while negotiating the stairway, but funny just the same.
Had to comment again, been watching since yall chopped that tree down to start the build on the house. My goodness yall have come a long way! Ya know, some white lights wrapped around some of those coconut trees would be pretty
@TexasFilipino those spot lights that are on the ground and light up the trees like the night clubs do look really nice. If you put the lights in the trees you can also accidentally have a phallic look 🍌 😅 oops. They also have them in solar but have to add alot of extension cords. I've found the cheapest option here are the 12 volt cords with adapters to whatever the solar light uses.
Have you ever tried putting a layer of 1/2” foam sheet in the middle of the form to act as a thermal break? I would think it would help keep the electric use way down over time for AC. I sure wish I would have been there for my home build so I could have done it this way vs hollow block, but it requires so much more forethought and micro-management/teaching. Good work!
Let's talk about that. The idea is great and is done. The down side is the second you put it in there your building cost skyrockets. Why? The foam layer has now turned it into two thinner walls. This has no strength. So now you must adjust your steel and forming. On one side of the foam you will need your thick structure wall with steel and one the other side a thin wall that is simply just a interior wall to cover the foam. This will also need steel in it too and will be harder to pour because the aggregate will not go down between the steel because of no space. You would need to use small aggregate meaning you would need a second mix or one small aggregate on your entire mix which changes the strength. It would have to carefully be poured equal on both sides as coming up as to not push the foam to one side or the other and not bust it also. I could just keep adding up the logistics that change by introducing a piece like that. The alternative is this. You place the foam inside the form to one side and only pour concrete one a single side of the form. The foam would need a way to tie into the concrete as to not de-laminate from the concrete. There are company's that produce a foam sheet with a wire grid in it that has the heavy gauge wires sticking out on one side to embed into the concrete. Then after pulling the forms you would need to either build a finish wall against the foam if interior and or embed ties and put mesh wire and stucco or plaster the foam for finishing reasons. I would put the foam inside in that is the case because this practice has been done on the outside and typhoon hurricane areas can literally rip the foam and stucco off the concrete wall. The foam can also soak up moisture and mildew if not sealed properly. Another way would be to pour the walls like this and then glue/bond foam panels to the inside after the foams are stripped(shutters) then again you would need to put ties in the foam and plaster it for a finish and or make a constructed wall or laminate finish like wall board. The cost would be very expensive in the end. One other way is to put thick concrete wall on both sides of the foam with rebar on both sides. Again raising your cost greatly. If you watch my old video set on building the main house you will find that I built over hangs on many of the main walls to where they seldom get direct sunlight. This really helps them not be solar batteries. Prior to build I put up a pole where the walls would be with a cross stick on it at ceiling height. I watched for the sun shadow and found out how far my over hangs would need to be to keep sun off the walls. This set the width for my balconies and overhangs. Tree shading can play a huge role also. This method is great for mild climates and tropics. One things you could do is insulate or double layer the walls on the sides facing the most sunlight. This method that we are doing is cheap and easy in this format. The thermal part is a two way street because running the aircon inside ( which we have solar system) the wall absorbs the cold also. White walls also keep down the exterior temps. Color painted concrete especially dark will not be good. Hope this gives you and others some food for thought.
@ this is why I watch your channel. I have been building homes here in DFW for about 20 years and I never stop learning and growing. The thing I have learned the most in PI is patience! I can build 4 homes from start to finish in the amount of time I have been working on my home in Bohol. I try to not get too hot about it as it gives me something to look forward to when it is all wrapped up. Every month I think it is the last month 😂
Im also currently watching a channel Cole the Cornstar where he is going to pour a basement or underground movie theater walls except he is overbuilding and winter is fast approaching in Iowa. I mentioned your channel to him as well
Hey Kuya Texas If you celebrated Thanksgiving there this year I hope it was a special day for yall . Man I really like these build pour vedieos as you already know . I can't hardly wait to see these upper rooms finished & the Pool come together. James I'm trying to invision the way the finished Pool will look but for some reason I'm having a problem seeing it in my mind Po . Hey what fight were you guys watching ??? I hope it wasn't the Tyson fight lmao 😂 if it were you got robbed out of a good fight 😂. God bless yall .
James, what do you suppose OSHA would think of your work environment, the abundance of safety gear, the steel toed flip flops, and so forth? Don’t think this site would pass their scrutiny.😅 Also, does TH-cam require anything special for you to run the ads at the end of your videos or is it ok because it’s your VLOG? Just wondering….. Great progress on the second level rooms. They will be very desirable with the seaside views.😊
Please don't get mad at my plain words here but I could careless what OSHA thinks. They start in good faith of safety and then like most gov orgs they end up choking businesses to death along with others including lawyers. The system in the State is rigged against the businesses and making no one person to take any self responsibility. All waiting to a accident payday and usually from their own ignorance. I can tell you now if I require this crew, which is actually just family, to wear boots all the the other gear they would just stay home. It would be over. They don't want it and they accept if they get hurt its on them not me. They accept self responsibility. Law suits don't fly in this country. This is our family building for their sister/cousin. When you work in your back yard do you gear up to the hilt? TH-cam on our own promo of my our place on our own channel? Lol. What's your point in that question really?
@ Well on the first point I completely agree with you. That kinda was my point. How ridiculous the government interference has become. You couldn’t possibly accomplish what you’ve been able to do….. On the second point, total curiosity. I don’t know how these type of things are handled, as I’ve never done any vlogs or anything like that. I just know that they are very strict with how vloggers use various materials on their vlogs, ie, like a music clip, one presenter will be able to show a live performance of a group and the next guy while reviewing the same groups live performance will not be allowed to show the video (have to blur it) on the exact same performance. That’s why I asked about your clip you run at the end recently. Just wondering………..
That marine ply if you had shuttering oil it will last a lot longer but I don't think you would get that in the Philippines we have it in the UK and Europe I'm not blocked play We Go shuttering ply lighthouse been on the go for many years James in the European Union and United Kingdom we've been using for the last 40 years we normally spray it with a special oil
Yes here they will use diesel or old transformer oil. I didn't want the residue on the concrete to possibly cause skim coat bonding issues. I don't know if you have the Poly coated plywood for casting concrete there but it's available here everywhere from China and it sure is handy.
Any reason why don’t use ppl Composite board ? Personally would fabricate welded shuttering with ppl ..boosh..far easier. Nothing like fresh concrete lol. All the best 😊
@ Lol it’s sectional, ya strike and move along ..boosh. No ripping down the ply and reforming with nails etc, you have in the phil’s the man power to do things that are not achievable in the west with Labour rates. It’s similar to buying preform concrete shuttering only difference the metal/ppl is also reusable afterwards too. Ps my foreman is fabulous welder ..and made a temp staircase, wood would not have survived one of the recent storms we had. All the best.
hit a nerve? I had a guy I knew who cried and threw a fit while his Filipina wife cheered him on saying you tell him baby you tell him. He cried to me in a confrontation that I said his walls was going to crack because he used hallow block. I had never said that about his home. I said it in my vlog that all hallow block walls here that are covered in that portland rich plastering/rendering they do gets hot from a thermal reaction and spider cracks everywhere and no amount of paint will ever make it go away. It will always keep coming back. Well turns out that was it. I did not pinpoint his house directly but it butthurt him because his wall had those spider cracks everywhere ( I had no clue personally) and some how it was my fault because I spoke about this fact of the render walls doing that. He literally CRIED with crocodile tears like 3 year old how it hurt his feelings because he is proud of his home. UNREAL all from my vlogs speaking in general of the practice here and the results. He also cried because I did not take him for a boat ride. Reminds me of Tom Hanks/Geena Davis movie League of their Own "There's no crying in baseball"

Brings back a lot of memories ! Those walls look awesome. Great job.
The walls look slick very clean work. Thanks for the video

That golden sky was beautiful
Gi GI so pretty
Watching here kabayan good morning sau sir enjoy your live stream ingat 😊
Those guys are getting better and better with the concrete
In Japan, the forms are coated with lubricant especially made for forms.
Mornings are great! Thanks.
I chuckled to my self watching the 4 workers carrying the beverage chiller…one guy doing a good job with the heavy end. Probably had to be that way while negotiating the stairway, but funny just the same.
All you need is some Christmas lights flashing on those trees for the opening on your video!!!😊
Had to comment again, been watching since yall chopped that tree down to start the build on the house. My goodness yall have come a long way! Ya know, some white lights wrapped around some of those coconut trees would be pretty
We tried wrapping lights and lost our money before. The palms and coconuts falling destroys them.

I must say... Never seen so good work... Not my house and others i know. Great work! Our walls looks like shit... :)
Good morning James n Mel
0:59 things are different nowadays, before come October you can smell Christmas already
they begin celebrating Christmas in the Philippines on Sept 1 aka the ber months. Their tradition for a long time
👍
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 James and Mel.
Same to you!

When they mix the concrete I see sand and concrete mix are they pour straight concrete or they adding gravel
?? they dump sand, gravel and spread a channel they dump concrete and add water proofing water then mix.
What water proofing are you using😊
James how high are you making your poured walls?
they will angle from 10 feet to 11 6" when done.
Was wondering would it be cheaper and faster if Mikes retirement did his wall using this form method rather than the block method ?
You can't teach Old Dogs New Tricks!

if your building an apartment complex. Why complicate it with welding for something so temp. to use.
