Julia is amazing. It always looks like she doing this stuff on the fly, but then we get a glimpse of her notebook. She's thought all of this out ahead of time. I would really like to see a series of videos, each one dedicated to the work of one girl.
You could find a way to put a magnet in the side opposite of the knife. It would hold the wallet closed, and keep the knife from sliding out. :) not that it is at risk of sliding out. just throwing an idea out there.
I absolutely love my new wallet and knife combo! The tough yet supple leather is so well crafted that it will certainly pass the test of time. The knife, as small as it is, is pretty comfortable to hold... and surprisingly came remarkably sharp. Keep up the great work, and thanks for this delightful piece that will be cherished for years to come.
Julia, get yourself a sailors palm. It's awesome for hand sewing thick material. It will allow you to push big needles through thick material with the palm of your hand without hurting yourself.
I thought some people also use a cheap drill press ( like you clamp onto a hand held drill) . Put the needle in the drill and use the drill press handle to get more leverage.
I love this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I learned so much from my dad. I can pretty much make anything, fix anything, etc. It's great to see young girls/women who are self sufficient and independent. Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those are very awesome wallets Julia. When I look at these kind of start up businesses I think what will I do if all of a sudden I get a thousand sold. How will I supply those orders. A business needs to be able to supply the demand and being able to make large quantities as quickly as you can is the hard part. So making a stamp jig to cut out the parts using dads press to do the cutting is a good way. To take it from basicly a hobby to a business is a matter of ingenuity and usually perservence. You've got the quality, now you have think about the quantity. Good luck in your endeavors, hope you sell piles of them.
@denisewilson8367 yes but if you went a website and they are always sold out of what you are trying to buy wouldn't you eventually just quit trying and go somewhere else? If you advertise a product there's a reasonable expectation that you'd be able to supply the demand.

Greetings from the land of Blaze King, thanks for the update video. As a semi-old guy who as a hobby and out of necessity made leather pouches, holsters, sheaths and whatnot for more than half a century, it's great to see the next shift of leather workers still at it. Also in the "for whatever it's worth" category, as a Canuck I don't carry anything as a "weapon" since we all know how that works out with nervous constabulary. Now there's always a variety of tools carried and yah, I can articulate exactly what purpose each one serves. That ultra safe box and cord cutter design does not have blades which break on us like a regular box cutter so is much safer for the user for instance. We all need to open boxes and cut cord, baler twine, etc. regularly and since we use our hands for a living, it's incumbent on us we use the safest method available with which we will not injure said hands.... Stay well and good luck on any remaining hunts.
We don't like to carry weapons either, but like you, we need necessary tools for cutting boxes and bailer twine, or chug off trees, around the farm etc. 😊
It was the sense of something illegal what drew me to your video lol and I always say that you learn something new every day. You can thank the wife and her talents that I subscribed. Cheers
