I have two Aria's, one Alana and a Taylor Top that I trimmed to about shoulder length... now I'm thinking about getting a Candace!?! Truly glad you guys are willing to 'teach' us how to successfully trim our wigs and hairpieces.

Love the DIY videos. They're so helpful. I'm with you all the way, Ro, but a reminder for your viewers who are contemplating trying this for the first time: You need GOOD scissors. Not just any pair of shears. Don't use any pair that you use cut paper. Nothing ruins an edge more than paper. and if you try you will only make a mess. It's worth the investment to get good HAIR SCISSORS. They're not that expensive, and I know Godiva sells them, but they're also available in other outlets. If you don't have hair scissors the number two best option are smaller sewing scissors. I don't recommend it, The best sewing scissors cost $35-50, while Godiva's shears are much, much less expensive. Now I have a question. How do you cut the back of a wig if you're wearing it? (LOL) Hugs.

Hi Rita, I know that clients all over are looking for hairdressesrs who trim/alter wigs. We're in So CA and we do offer special days that we do simple trims for free - and when I create a wig video with a client, I will present her the wig as my thank you and I'll trim it for her. It's normal for a hairdresser to trim for cutting wigs and it's a great niche business besides coloring and cutting their own hair. Trimmimg wigs doesn't lessen a hairdresser's biz, it expands it! Absolutely Tracy! I have seen clients who cut their Thin Candice and it's great! Just remember that T. Candice is a straight wig - unlike CANDICE in this video. So, the ends, when cut will still be straight. If you're good with T Candice, just a shorter length, I think you'll just love it. If someone is doing it, have them go longer than you think, then they can go shorter as you approve it. Communicate throughout the cut. xo Ro

You cut the length of the first wig, from the front, and never showed how the back looks! That upper layer lays on top of only part of the cut layer! I cannot picture how the curved ends can come together in back.

Hi Lena, great question! Here are some reasons why I showed how to cut a wig shorter: 1. Sometimes, as a wig gets older, a client may want to cut it shorter. 2. Most important is how the wig looks around the face - sometimes when client loves the wig height, bangs and how it lays, but it's too long, she can easily have the wig/bangs shortened to customize it just for her. Many clients do trim their wigs and love the option, or they will own a few of the same wig and have it trimmed in different lengths. Thanks for watching! Rochelle

It's normal for a hairdresser to trim for cutting wigs and it's a great niche business besides coloring and cutting their own hair. Trimmimg wigs doesn't lessen a hairdresser's biz, it expands it! Do you think thin Candice can be cut and look like the shortest length you cut ?I love it.
Absolutely Tracy! I have seen clients who cut their Thin Candice and it's great! Just remember that T. Candice is a straight wig - unlike CANDICE in this video. So, the ends, when cut will still be straight. If you're good with T Candice, just a shorter length, I think you'll just love it. If someone is doing it, have them go longer than you think, then they can go shorter as you approve it. Communicate throughout the cut. xo Ro

I love the Godiva wigs. These haircuts were very cute & fun but why would I pay 300 plus dollars for a Candace wig to then cut it short? 🥺.

However, some clients fall in love with a particular cut around the face, or the way the wig falls from the crown on Candice or a longer wig. Why not have the top exactly as you love and trim length if necessary to customize it for you? It's just a personal choice, thanks for watching! Ro
You cut the length of the first wig, from the front, and never showed how the back looks! That upper layer lays on top of only part of the cut layer! I cannot picture how the curved ends can come together in back.

The thing I don't understand is why on earth would you buy a long wig and then cut it short instead of buying a shorter one in the first place.
Hi Lena, great question! Here are some reasons why I showed how to cut a wig shorter:
1. Sometimes, as a wig gets older, a client may want to cut it shorter.
2. Most important is how the wig looks around the face - sometimes when client loves the wig height, bangs and how it lays, but it's too long, she can easily have the wig/bangs shortened to customize it just for her. Many clients do trim their wigs and love the option, or they will own a few of the same wig and have it trimmed in different lengths. Thanks for watching! Rochelle

Yes Vee - I did not trim the 3 to go right out to dinner in - more to show our viewers what can be achieved and how to do it. Each trim on its own would take from 1/2 hour to 1 hour to do so I finished after the video. Thanks for sharing! Rochelle
