  • Lara personally owns a Ducati Supersport, so she wanted to know how that engine performs in the new Monster 950. She took it to her favourite roads, on tack at Silverstone and for a Birmingham City centre ride.

Brilliant and engaging review. The videography is great, especially in that beautiful countryside, and I really like the way you covered riding the bike in multiple scenarios (including railing the corners on track). It’s a lot of fun watching talented riders on 600’s cut through liter bike traffic like a knife through butter. Yes, the liter bikes leave the lower displacement bikes behind on the straights, but anyone can twist the throttle while traveling down a straight. The challenge is in the cornering, and that Monster looked right at home. I hope Ducati UK tosses Lara the keys to that SP for a follow-up video review.

Yes - it really is. Best of all worlds - but SS can be too soft to really push on track (but that’s just me) and you compromise a dash of comfort on long tours… but it always passes my look back test, and its sportily ‘ready’ when I want to enjoy the curves and the engine is everything I need!

I just got my MC license in June last year and bought a 950 Monster, aka my dream bike. I cannot stress how amazing it has been so far! I was worried that this bike would be too much too quick for a beginner, but it has been a dream so far. Cannot say anough good things about it. My only minor gripe is that it's very loud (full termi racing exhaust system) and at low revs it's a bit jumpy. This bike likes to be driven and not taken for a stroll.

Hi 👋 Lara, super happy to watch your video, once again.
5-10, damn, you are such a tall girl. Your half apple had better standing in line. If I add how you’re able to ride and drag your knees into leans…what remained of my male ego, resigned 5 minutes ago 😅. I’m joking, obviously, you’re a very good rider. I’m not so good, but I started pretty late with a “ big bike”, I don’t ride often and I haven’t joined any course or lesson. Recently I even crashed on f. gravel.
Anyway, the monster. I own an old 620 I.e., I like 676 , 1100 evo, 797, 1200 (a little less), but I find this one, not ugly, but not matching monster stereotypical lines. I’ m a happy katana owner, but I miss so much 2 cylinder engine, especially on mountain twisties. I thought a little bit if getting a new Ducati, but parochialism risks to obfuscate a rational decision. In fact I choose to cuddle myself with a 890 duke R, that’s lighter, has oversized suspension and brakes and spreads torque everywhere within revs range.
Have a nice weekend and congratulations for you (riding and journalistic) abilities.
