I just bought an SP, and I realized that this Monster has to be ridden Hard, it doesn't like to be ridden easy or else it bogs and bucks until the revs go up. However, as far a lightness, and power to weight, this Bike is a Blast, and the SP comes with the Rosso 4s, and stick very well, I;m Happy so far !!
Awesome. Congrats on the new bike. That tends to be the case with a lot of Ducatis. They demand to be ridden a certain way, otherwise, they get grumpy. haha. Thanks for the comment!
That's what's up! Starting to find more and more people watching from the Charlotte area. Whenever you decide to buy definitely hit up Motorcycles of Charlotte and tell them I sent you. Thanks for the kind words, keeps me motivated. Cheers!
Yoooo. That’s awesome! And yeah when I originally had this bike it wasn’t for sale and it wasn’t until after recording the video that I realized it was a 2022. Hence why I didn’t put a year in the title. But there are no differences between the two that I am aware of. Really happy for you. It’s a lovely bike!
Excellent review, what I needed to hear. I am thinking about taking one on for a test ride. I'm excited to hear about how well the engine is an improvement over previous generations, so that makes up for the wild polarizing new styling opposed to their older generation styling.
Hey bro, I'm planning to buy a superbike and my priority is looks. I have decided that I'll buy a used Ducati monster 821. Can this bike grab that much attention, is it a head turner? please tell me
I personally think the 821 has more visual appeal. But everyone has different opinions. Is there a Ducati dealer near you? If so, you should pop in and look at one in person.
you have no idea how happy I am to see a Carolina rider reviewing some of my favorite bikes. got my Triumph Street Cup from Motorcycles of Charlotte and couldn't be happier.
@@alexkhorne7733 good luck. most of the venues are Cars and Coffee and a few classic car shows/swap meets at the motor speedway. Myrtle Beach bike week in May is always a banger though.
If it wasn't for non adjustable forks and preload only in rear well I'd already own one. I can live without cruise control for short hikes but i do a 4hr monthly round trip also.
@@ridexdrive thanks for the reply, really enjoyed your review. It’s a good up for me between the Monster and the BMW. Hope you and your family have a safe and Merry Christmas 👍
A year into my ownership and 7000 miles later, I'm still loving it. And as far as the trellis frame thing that has everyone losing their shit over, meh. A steel trellis frame on a motorcycle is utilitarian looking at best. Having recently rode a 2018 Monster 821, I can tell you, it really doesn't hold a candle to the newest generation in terms of overall performance. Sorry you traditionalist "Ducatistis", but once you ride an older gen back to back with the newest gen, you'll get it.
Hey, thanks! I thought the clutch pull was good for city riding. I have extra long fingers though lol. It had reassuring engagement, and I found it easy to hop on and ride without thinking about it. I road an S1000RR recently, and I stalled it a couple of times during parking lot riding. The monster had none of those problems. Engine heat was good for a Ducati. Considering this was an extra hot day, it was decent, but there was more heat than you get from other bikes in this segment. I hope this helps you decide, and always try to get a test ride if you can!
went to a dealer in mid Ga. they had a 2023 Ducati Monster plus Stealth black, i was looking to buy. after checking out the bike i decided to go with a Suzuki. the ducati was cheaply made. I mean VERY CHEAPLY made. the suspension was weak as Hell. after sitting on it it felt very light and plastic. i have a old Ducati monster and it's a great bike, the new one just felt like junk.
@@blackkitty1774 i weigh about 210lbs. when I leaned on the handlebars the forks sunk about 3 inches. i was afraid to put any real weight on it. I did look the bike over pretty well. the 2023 monster was a cheaply made bike. they are prone to constant breakdowns. I have talked with several different mechanics and they said I made the better choice going with Suzuki. I have almost 10K miles on my 2022 GSX-S750 and about 8500 miles on my 2023 GSX-S1000 GT Plus. no major issues on either bike,,, mostly tires. my '94 monster M900 has 7k miles and the motor needs major work( head bolts broke).
absolutely no need to remove db killers , and I heard it might damage your muffler on the inside. Sounds so much better with Termi, going to test ride this this weekend. But to get that sound you need to install a full racing system, not sure if you can do it in The US
Hello, I ordered a standard Monster. Taking into account that it is my first motorcycle and I am not going to sell it, do you think I should have ordered the SP? Thanks
Nope! The most meaningful upgrades are the adjustable suspension and higher spec brakes. Unless you plan to do a ton of track days it’s not a big deal. Even still, the standard setup is fairly good for the occasional track day. Everything else you can easily do to the standard bike, the Termi exhaust and Pirelli tires.
@@twowheelin7361 awesome! But to be helpful, tell Sahiet why they should get it. People tend to buy the top of the line stuff just because. But if you can afford it and are able to change your order, go for it! But if not, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the standard bike and nothing you can’t do with it over the SP that’s going to make a world of difference as a new rider/first bike.
You'll only "need" the SP if you're serious about cornering performance and possibly track time. Otherwise, it's not needed. BUT... down the road, you can always swap in upgraded suspension into your Monster once you've outgrown the limits or performance of the stock suspension. Just keep the stock suspension so you can swap it back in when it's time to sel the bike in the future, if that time may come.

I'm interested to know if you've tried a ktm duke 790/890 and how they compare to the monster. Great vid, thanks.
I haven’t. I’ll have to soon!
The sound of that Termi is torture to my bank account....
Haha. True. They are expensive.
Is this the same exhaust that comes with SP ? This exhaust sound amazingly beautiful

How long does the rear tire last, if you ride at such low pressure that it rubs like yours?
That is what I am looking for…fun. Does it have a quick shifter?

You can buy them from Ducati. It’s in their equipment/accessories list. $155
