I like the secondary build on Tirpitz, but I prefer to maximize fire chance rather than use IFHE. Forcing someone to use damage control is big time value, so getting it out of the way is a big help for your team.

One of my absolute favorites among T 8 BB and others. Capable of fighting successfully at close to long range with the right build. Worth every penny spent.

A huge contributing factor to the doom of a cruiser is them getting slowed down due to damage, not always due to direct component hits, but a 12 to 15" she'll over penning a light cruiser caused massive flooding often, causing the ship to drag to one side or the other and slow down, also often causing water damage to important systems under deck.
I completely agree with your thoughts on overmatch. Surely they can change Krupp values to make it so bows are stronger while expanding the citadel chance for penetrated belts
I really like the Tirpitz. Got it during the trade in. I have had really good success with it! Lots of fun in Operations.
I would like to see the premium ships get a buff. I think for example the Tirpitz should also get hydro as well. Because premiums cost either coal , steel or money, the should have the same benefits as the tier tree ships with a little extra something. 😊. o7 PQ

The problem with reduced damage on angled ships is that bow in tanking would be too good, but I agree with you in principle. As a BB main the over pens are very frustrating.

Isn't that the gimmick dealing with light cruisers. The BB needs to anticipate that he is dealing with a lightly armoured ship and select shell type accordingly. I know that that is easier said than done. Similar problem for a CL when angling against a BB or heavy cruiser
The issue with the "let Battleships punish broadsides more equal to making them less able to punish bow in targets" is overmatch as a mechanic. Because otherwise you could only make both less consistent, because with current mechanics all Wargaming could do is make BBs less accurate. So they would have a harder time hitting the bows of ships, but would also have a harder time punishing broadside ships.
At least without making any major changes to ship models and making a large portion of the community very angry, because they could accomplish that by removing the front 1/3rd of every Cruisers citadel and apply the lost size to the top of the citadel and then hope it's far enough into the cruiser that AP shells only pen they don't get citadels through the bow. That would however make the armour view for ships horrifically inaccurate to how ships actually were, and would end up pissing off more people than it would make happy.
Alternatively they COULD give Cruisers 32mm bows at T8+ just like BBs, or at least sections of 32mm, basically giving them all an ice breaker. Then for T6/7 give them all 30mm, 4/5 27mm, and T 2/3 25mm, so that they all CAN bounce the general size of AP for their tier bracket at the waterline, but can still be overmatched into their upper bow. While also raising the cits of all of those ships slightly. Not sure by how much but at least some so that they are higher in the water. Though the extra armour might still piss off the majority of BB players as it would make Cruisers a lot tanker to be able to bounce the average BB gun of their tier. The issue here for balance is what do you do with the superlights and British lights? Where they have light armour as part of their gimmick. Though I suppose they could always just get the lower tier brackets ice breaker. So a Mino would have 30mm, Fiji would have 27mm, Emerald would have 25mm. (Note at the end here to reiterate, this wouldn't be the WHOLE bow, it would just be a section at the front at the waterline to protect the citadel)
Honestly if you do read this and like ether idea they could be proposed to Wargaming, not only by you but also I wouldn't mind making a post on the feedback Discord. Honestly anything to let Cruisers actually potentially play the game is something I could get behind.
End of the day, all any of us wants is the game to be more balanced. We all just have different ideas on how to get there. I do apologize if any of my previous comments have ever come across as me attacking you or your ideas, I only ever wished to give counter points to things you propose(mostly when it comes to your thoughts around AA and CV interactions), so that maybe you would see that your emotional responses in the moment of something may not be the best solutions. I've had some bad suggestions as well, like "give every battleship and cruiser from T3 onward a radar that matches the average DD torp range of that tier" Can you guess what my emotional response was to? It was having a stealthy DD get into my teams back line 6 games in a row and feeling like I had no tools to deal with it in my T6 Cruiser. Would it have solved my issue? Sure. Would it have been a good healthy change for the game? Absolutely not, DDs would have gone extinct, and radars at T10 would have something like 14km+ of range.

Regarding your comments about damage dealt to broadsiding/angled, as a main cruiser player I'm finding mostly over this year that the damage dealt when I find a guy full broadside with my DM, Stalingrand, Marseille,etc is very poor in comparison when I shoot to a nose in/angled.
It's an horrendous mechanic (one more), that seems to be intentionally implemented to protect mistakes. And that without talking about the "bugged" aim system (I really doubt they did not intentionally changed it in the aim algorithm), simply for the reason of the heavy monetization we are having and the amount of newcomers that the game has lately.

I just won the Tirpitz B in a Black Friday crate I got for completing brawl. I was very excited, then I played a few matches with it. Now I’m considering selling it for the almost 15 million silver it’s worth. Should I hang onto it or what? With the silver I could buy an Amagi, the Maine, soon a Kansas. I feel like I’d be happier with any of those ships over the Tirpitz.

I actually got the Tirp B out of a BF container, then the standard Tirp out of a Santa container. One is full secondary, the other Hybrid, the former seems better to me.

@@mrwillmoi I'm not a big Atlanta fan. Not that it's not a good ship, but it has a pretty high skill floor and armor like wet cardboard. It feel like Omaha, in a T9 game. It's good in Ranked though.
Does anyone have any idea when they will fix "aiming system ? Bro nice video. I am also frustrated when i play that game. They do everything else, but it takes years to fix one bug, and they can fix it with one update.
I do think Tirptiz needs a buff, secondaries should be part of the base ship without being able to take the captains skills to buff them further simply because quite often you don't get to use them. I do think it's a bit too squishy for wows at the moment...
got this on a free BF23 crate on legends...dunno why but it feels like there's no armor on it and fire eats up a lot of HP

Potato Quality, while I understand what you said at the end of the video about broadside CL versus bow in and the ability for the shell to do damage. Respectfully, I think what you may be missing is the difference in path length that the shells experience after hitting the ship’s plating. With a 0.033 fuse, the Tirpitz AP does not arm fast enough to do damage inside the ship and therefore you end up with Overpens. When the ship is bow in and the shell penetrates due to overmatch instead of bouncing the shell ends up traveling along the length of the ship which is significantly longer and therefore the shell has time to arm and most likely also ends up inside the citadel and that’s why you see the behavior you see. As much as I don’t like many of the things WG is doing to the game lately, I do think they got this right.
Imagine if you put in this much effort into a job……

The key issue with any T8 ship these days is that every single time I take my Tirpitz I’m matched against all T10 ships. I’ve given up and just take my T10 now. I miss the Tirpitz though.

I'm a big fan of the Mass and Tirp. But when push comes to shove build Lutjiens w/seconds build can't be beat. Mass used to be my go to but it seems to be not as tanky. Mass 2nds are better IMHO...But my go to now to kick A ship is Tirpitz.
Mass def has its advantages over Tirp for sure. But for a Knife Fight give me my Tirpitz w/ Lutjiens and stand back.

Randoms are just rough for it these days. However, it still shines in ranked and brawls. My most favoured pick for that. Many claim Zieten is better but i disagree.
How come pc player's get six rows of four on skills for battleship but console player's are only stuck with four skill upgrades on a same ship. Starting see why I lose to pc player's alot. They have unfair advantage against console player's. Can someone explain to me why that is allowed. I tryed see if I have same skill available for my tirpitz and I don't see any of it.

Secondary build Tirpitz is just misery when uptiered. Everyone chunks your health away quickly and there's no way to escape if you closed in to secondary range and your team abandons you.
Torpedo tubes are destroyed!
Tirpitz/Bismarck secondary build in Asia doesnt really survive, its hard to catch any opportunity to use that build, its tough, sometimes rng comes by most of the time not. its frustrating

Tirpitz B might not be the best BB in the game but she is definitely one of the best looking so while you are raging at the wonky dispersion and overpens you can admire the beauty.

Tirpitz is a good ship if you know the strengths and weakness of it.
I lean toward Bismarck, actually. Hydro is useful, AA is better and my Tirpitz torpedo tubes are made of cardboard. (Always gone after the first incoming salvo.)

I shot with Tirpitz at broadside battleships and super cruisers at medium to close range consistently got overpens and ricochets. WG abuse their playerbase like no other developer
You say maxed for secondarys but you use IFHE & no fire flags. I am confused. Also used detonation flag...on a BB? Personally i dont think ive ever detonated in any BB much less a German one. Totally agree with your closing statement about broadsides tho. ... and subs ... and CV's. holla back bro

The problem is that any ship in good hands is a great ship. There are no ships for regular players. All ships are balanced.

I'm simply stating that that doesn't change the fact that a ship can be overpowered regardless of the playerbase. Just because you give someone a supercar or the best tools in the world doesn't mean a beginner knows how to use it. Doesn't matter how good or bad the playerbase is as there will be people how are decent players that understand the game's basic mechanics and perform well.

For ranked, Tirpitz is good if people are dumb enough to come in and brawl with you, otherwise they keep you at 13km and you're a non factor BB

Gunnery "Overmatch" in World of Warships (shells of caliber 14.3 x depth of the armor plate struck, or larger, automatically penetrate, skipping checks for angle, velocity, inertia) has always been a lazily designed mechanic, and should never have been added to the game. If WoWS' algorithm for checking penetration at steep angles was not adequate, they should have developed the coding, rather than adding in this lazy gimmick.

In an a perfect world, a battleship sees a cruiser broadside at 4 km……. You know what the cruiser crew is thinking right? Call the chaplain because we’re shark food no doubting it. Over penetrating salvo at a ships waterline would AT BEST cause severe flooding. Holes the size of a bathtub taking on water in bulkheads. Instead in this game….. overpen move on

Too bad your destroying your game, Cant even play randoms any more ,, You insist on stacking the teams for your preferred players(streamers, moderators,etc) . Its obvious you insist on stacking by 5 to 10% w/r on their side. While you expect us to spend our money to support this crap. Well I for one refuse to give you another penny till there is team balance. Thats about 400 a month youve lost just from me . And im calling on all players to do the same!!!

Honestly, recommending a tirpiz to your fans is just reccomending they waste their money. How much of a bonus do you get for telling people to waste their money on pixels? You used to be so much more honest about this game before getting CC status.
