Torpedo launcher reload time decreased: 140s to 110s Repair Party consumable parameters changed: HP per second increased: 320 to 383 Reload time reduced: 80 to 60s So the torps will get a very nice reload buff making this ship more fun to spam the 15km torps. Still not as fast as Karl XIV Johan but will add a lot to the enjoyment of the ship. And getting an improved heal with 60s cooldown is going to be very nice for the survivability of the ship. It does have a very limited hp pool so this is great to see and will make the ship much more comfortable to play. I already thought the ship was fun before knowing about the buffs so this will be even better! Once again sorry I missed this I will do better in the future.

With such awful caliber and barrel count, I'd like to see Tsurugi level accuracy. Otherwise, the ship is pretty interesting. Though Johan's hydro is really desired here too.
The lack of accuracy of the main guns is a serious turn off for me. Plus the fact that we're going to get a T5, a tier that almost nobody plays is not the dockyard I expected, esp onto one for Xmas!
What i Image nice is also in early game when enemy dd is capping throwing 20 super fast torps in there. Alpha is low but its still much for a dd when 1 hit
Glad to see that Niord is fun to play and actually balanced, feels like a 2019 ship, looking forward to the dockyard now And i have to say it, but seeing a camo thats not grey feels so refreshing, hopefully 2025 bring us more... color

The 21 point captain on my Johan has a secondary build, so to play this ship I would either have to change the build that captain or train a new captain for a main gun build. Plus like you said, the torps load faster on the Johan. So the Niord is a pass for me.
I think the only thing saving T9 matchmaker from being the worst is the fact that there are generally only 1 or 2 superships per side in a match. In T8, you can be the lone T8 in a team of T10s. It's not only possible, it's not uncommon.
Oh to be good enough to do that well in the match, almost breaking your back while carrying the team and then apologising for ‘throwing the game’. Dude….. apologies were going in the wrong direction! Loving your vids!
Johan all the way tbh.. the new dockyard ship kinda lacks concealment, torp power, and of course the shell volume.. especially the concealment.. with brisk she could change position faster.. and don't forget the hydro, the most useful stuff nowadays..
I wanted to say it is a hard decision to choose between main battery reload or torp reload, but since the torp reload gets buffed, one can go for main battery In my experience, i end up most of the time playing the XIV as a DD, with little success, as people keep running away. Maybe the 1,5 km additional torp range can make the difference Also the main battery of the XIV is just plain weak, struggling esp against cruisers. The Niord looks much suitable for me, probably just overall better
Honestly the salvos in the first clip is dissapointing... I expected way more considering they say its very accurate... Also yes at 12:15 Johan secondaries are a huge bait... Just spec full torps and get 70sec reloads while spamming HE out of the 305's Also USS Hull NDA lifted today? ;)
That Tipitz and Hipper combo looked really useless that first game. Catalina Cruiser had the hand of god protecting him from all those broadside shots. I played the FDG recently, it felt awful getting up tiered to 11's and it felt very old.

I have the K14J already from the last trade in event, my personal best XP game in that ship and I find it quite fun but I am looking forward to the different play style Niord will offer too. Are Niord's torp launchers always getting knocked out like K14J i wonder? Anyway, great vid!
The tier 9 match making is just added frustration to playing at those tiers. Tier 9 and 10 just aren’t fun; it seems like they were jealous of the misery tier 8 brought 5 years ago and had to step up their misery game.
Dude, u had 6 kills, that team earned the loss. Also, I'm noticing that as the number of "funny buttons" has increased, so has the level of lemmings/potatoes.
In the current meta of the T9-T11 ships, no real brawler is worth its price. The Panamericans were fun the first few days, then the community adapted to them and now they are just damage pinata like all brawling ships. I guess this goes for the Niord as well: Fun as long as no one knows how to deal with, then fun for the enemy team to burn it down. Still, nothing beats my Meckle when it comes to brawling ;-)
IMHO this ship has all the things that I don't like on a BB: low health pool, not exact and hard hitting guns, torps that make the weaker-minded rush in and die first, nothing special. I think I'm gonna pass. Like I should have on at least 50% of the previous DY ships so far.
It's HP is to low. Especially when uptiered. The 2nds are usless. 380's are not great. Dockyard - More money / Event pass - More money. Way to much $$$$.

Seems like a solid side-grade to the K14J. These days any ship that's remotely balanced is decent in my book.
Last year I passed Michelangelo, I will do the same with this Njiord. I already have KJ so no need to spend 5000 dubs.

Im actually really happy tier 9 gets to suffer. The same gap between 7 and nine is the same with 9 and super. And they deserve to feel the same.
