As a Sony Shooter I really don't understand the hate Canon gets with this camera. I'm happy they've finally delivered. That 4k 120 is where it's at though.

It's how they marketed it that was the problem. They touted the video function so much when this camera's strongest point is the photography part. Video is functional but still needs work. Sony's progression with its Alpha series has been no different. People gripe about everything. Cameras have never been perfect and to everyone's liking.
@@fLORiDa33020 Nobody beside TH-camrs who are capturing Video longer than 20 minutes will have Problems with overheating
Thank God! A review showing & talking about still and not banging on about the camera over-heating. Great model as well.
Nothing wrong with still but if your are a hybrid shooter it’s a different story

So with the R5, including my entire wedding I shot with it today, I’ve been 80% on the 28-70 2.0, and 19% on the ef 135 2.0 with the adaptor. That last 1% if bc I think I put another lens on at some point haha

Vanessa you think that the rf 28-70 have a better image quality then the rf 24-70?

because I want to buy just one lens for my r5 and the choice is hard between this both.

The image quality, I believe, is better with the 28-70 2.0. And personally I think the 4mm loss is worth the 2.0 gain :)

Great video Vanessa Thank you, How do you upload 4K 120 onto your computer and what setting did you use on your camera, when I am using A+ scene intelligent auto it plays back great on my iMac but when I try 4K 120 Manuel playback is poo frame skipping freezing.
I have an average iMac and I just pulled it into final cut. I didn’t really have a prob with it lagging but I was only working with about a minute worth of clips
Why upload a 4k 120 video at max of 1080p?

That's cool, but I wanted to know about the light that was on the stand.
How long can you comfortably shoot with that lens?
I just shot a 10 hour wedding on Saturday with that lens on 80% of the time. It’s heavy but doable.
I spent my entire Christmas holiday chasing my nephews and nieces at family meets and touristing in Indonesia with the R and that 28-70. No problems! One camera, one lens, small bag. I didn’t need anything else.
@@VanessaJoy thanks, I wouldn't expect this. Then I wonder: will I have more keepers with this, or with the way lighter 24/70 2.8 RF (with IS)? Shooting with a quite heavy lens with no IS, could require double shutter speed, bumping the iso (one can't always count on f2)
The R5 and this lens comes up to around 5lbs (approx 2.1kg) I don't see how weight is an issue here? The new mirrorless systems are so light.

Dynamic Range for pics looks amazing! but for video not so good, you can't see the blue sky in the background at all, hopefully canon adding C-Log 3 in a firmware update will fix this!
according to canonrumors it might have , also RAW light . . hope it will do get one

Haha not when you add battery grip and a beast of a lens
well they are but she's combining that compact body with a monstrous RF 85mm 1.2 plus a battery grip which adds 80% of the weight

Canon is awesome for using a CODEC that has no hardware compression support, rendering it extremely difficult to edit 4k footage on even the most powerful Macs and PCs. No sale!
I had no problem with the 4k on my iMac. You could use proxy too
Only if it didnt overheat.....
Its not a big Problem for 80 % of hybrid shooters. The Sony Trolls arent Happy about the a7S3, which is Just a Video camera and Not a hybrid
The only Nice thing about this review is the place and the R5.. but the photos are terribly edited ! Could have been edited much better

Has a camera that takes 32MP video and uploads video in 2MP resolution. Epic fail.
Even if it was uploaded in 4k you’re still not going to be able to pixel peep 👀
