- An innovative manufacturing process in which I blend two different worlds to form a colorful piece with a modern motif.
The technique of segmented wood combined with epoxy resin and colored pencils creates an interesting contrast between ancient and modern.
In this woodturning video, I use oak with an African red wood.
The finish is provided by carnauba wax!
This project is not particularly suitable for woodturning beginners, as it requires knowledge of how to cut wood at specific angles, as well as experience in using woodworking machinery.
I'm filming some of my work in my woodworking shop, so I can share my ideas with you in a relaxing, asmr-style setting, without music or words.

Dans cette vidéo de tournage sur bois, j'utilise du chêne avec un bois rouge africain.
La finition est assurée par de la cire de carnauba !
Ce projet n'est pas particulièrement adapté aux débutants en tournage sur bois, car il nécessite de savoir comment couper le bois à des angles spécifiques, ainsi que d'avoir de l'expérience dans l'utilisation de machines à bois.
Je filme une partie de mon travail dans mon atelier de menuiserie, afin de pouvoir partager mes idées avec vous dans un cadre relaxant, de style asmr, sans musique ni paroles.

Hood looking project. The colored pencil feature ring is a great touch, especially with the inside and outside being turned at different angles exposing different views of the pencils. Very nice!

Very nice. Oak looks as if there is light inside wood. But are you sure that pencil core would not fall out?
no it's solid because the resin has sealed the whole thing well 😉the light you see is because the wall is thin

carnauba wax is a durable finish which means that a simple cloth from time to time, to restore a shine and that's it.

I have seen quite a few people use pencils as a medium over the years. This is my favourite. Just a little splash of colour against the natural beauty of wood. Gorgeous.

This is spectacular! Rather than putting a bunch of colored pencils into a mold with resin and turning them into a shape, you've incorporated the pencils into the design and actually made them an element of the structure. Rather than seeing pencils, I see an intricate inlay pattern that accentuates the shape of the piece. Absolutely wonderful! Bravo!

The bowl is beautiful. For some reason when looking at it from the top where you see a lot of the shoulder it just crossed my mind that it looks Egyptian. Love it.
