The way Katelyn and Ashley were talking, it didn't sound like we were going to be disappointed with the new story content. That being said, I DO NOT, want to play SWTOR in the old KOTOR dialogue style.
Agreed and agreed. The only reason we have KOTOR dialogue style is because it's cheaper to make, there's no way the vast majority of the devs themselves don't think a fully voice acted story isn't better. Our character's story, voice acting, dialogue choices (alongside the great story telling of revan and the valkorion saga), is why this game is still a thing. It feels like the star wars movies where it's one anakin's story told through the world and events. The fact they don't admit its because it's cheaper and instead play it off as something else is quite dishonest and dishonesty has been at an all time high from broadsword as a whole the past few years.
I dearly hope that this is the case, and that the real reason they've slid it into (by the sounds of it) the new year, is not because people would otherwise begin the new story on the first day of their Christmas holidays and be done with it, around midday.
I honestly don't mind the delay. I want to have voice overs for the story and I want voice actors/actresses to be protected and compensated for the work they do. I do not want to have AI voice plaguing the gaming industry.
AI is never going to be able to inject that same level of amused irony, as a real actor, for lines like "I would say he sensed your presence but I suspect it's all the commotion!"
Long time ago & that's not a valid reason for things like this 🙂 Many Gaming Studios have got voice overed content done since then with zero problemos ✅
