Just finished off a Balcones Rye - like no other rye you have had I guarantee. Looks like the Saz is next. Rye with ginger ale and an ice cube or two - yummy summer drink. Cheers!
Very good videos. Straight and to the point. Solid content and reviews. Sazerac is tough find in Atlanta at MSRP. - But i have general opinion that most stores can post on social media any bottle of piss and say "first come first serve, one bottle each" and it will be gone in 10 minutes....

I usually get this around $20.00-$22.00 a bottle and have bought it on sale for $16.00. I also have heard in some areas this is actually a "allocated " bottle. Whiskey is just a commodity like anything else i suppose it comes down to basic economics. Supply and demand.

Well done. I own the OF Rye, Rittenhouse, Pikesville, and Willet 4. Thanks for confirming that I don’t need to burn a candle at both ends trying to find a bottle of Saz. If I see it, I’ll buy it. Haven’t seen it in VA, ever.
Back when I lived in New Orleans, I frequented the toney Sazerac Bar in the old Roosevelt Hotel where Huey P ( and brother Earl) held court and twisted arms. Among other dubious things! Many places there claim to have invented the sazerac cocktail ( and indeed the "cocktail") Sadly, this great rye is rare near me in the desert southwest . However, I do like Michters rye as a consolation. I better go mix a sazerac for old times sake.
Love this. I'm not usually a rye fan because of the spice and dill notes but this is way more of a bourbon whiskey than a rye whiskey in my opinion. My wife enjoys the Sazerac cocktail with those yummy Peychaud bitters. Great review. Cheers from Calgary AB.
Also liking all that Elijah Craig on the top shelf where it belongs. Can't get anything but the Small Batch here in Canada. Would like to try the Barrel Proof someday.

Hey Derrick, if you can find Wild Turkey 101, we think that's a great whiskey for the money, and it beats out many other ryes at twice the price, even Rare Breed Rye. Cheers!
Fair question, honestly. Not much. It doesn’t bring a rubbery aroma or minty finish. It isn’t spicy. I’d probably compare it more to Buffalo Trace bourbon than any rye I’ve tasted. It’s so fruit forward.

I use 4 Roses Yellow Label for my Sazeracs. I always have a bottle of Sazerac on hand though, it's like a requirement since I live in New Orleans.

This one is very different than Knob Creek. No nuttiness at all. I'd sooner recognize it as a Buffalo Trace product than as a rye.
