Absolutely awesome video I have the integra goggles, and almost immediately replaced the stock antenna with the G2 flip from fly fish RC I took the stock antenna apart and de soldered the antenna elements then removed the hinge pins and removed the entire upper part of the antenna. I then did the same with the G2 antennas. I opened the front housing, de soldered the leads from the mcx base and removed the hinge pins, then reassembled the flip G2 upper housing onto the stock base, replaced the hinge pins, re soldered the antenna leads to the G2 elements, replaced the housing covers and it worked perfectly. Using the stock O3 air unit antenna or the fly fish long range antenna for the O3 both of which are linear polarized. The stock Tx antenna gives me about a 10% improvement in range and maybe 5-7% better penetration, but the fly fish long range anti gives me 15% more range and at least 10% better penetration, and this improvement is omnidirectional just like the stock antenna. I have a low spot on my property that I used to drop to 9mbps when I flew through it at low level like 5ft off the ground. Now I only drop to 19mbps on the stock Tx antenna and 23mbps on the fly fish long range Tx antenna. Over all a huge improvement but I must caution you only use the linear polarized antenna at both ends. if you use the G2 Flip with a left or right hand circular polarized antenna you will actually decrease reception quality by a substantial amount. That same area that went to 9mbps drops to 2mbps and my video feed is unusable and I have to climb out fast to get to an altitude where signal is restored.
OMG ! When i was choosing between Integra and Goggles 2, i go with integra because of the integrated battery and for the price of course ! I was a bit upset because the antennas could not be changed ... until today, Thanks you for this work and sharing with us! PS : I was working on a yagi antenna prototype to boost the signal without dismantling the integra, but you just do it better :) Double PS : You should fly with an omnidirectional antenna and a patch. With this combo you have the advantage of a true RC patch in range and the advantage of the 360 degree reception of an omni Fly safe 🔥
Thanks I also bought the yagi antenna but before I received it I found this trick so couldn't compare 😂 I agree with directional antennas but did not dig deeper into the problem and just went for the same antenna system that on the goggles 2 for long range. Since I only fly long range I don't care for omnidirection, what I have with the true rc is enough for me 🙃
Would it make sense to connect the TrueRC antennas to the internal antennas ufl connectors instead of removing the stock external antennas? This would result in 4 external antennas, 2 directionals (TrueRC), and 2 omnidirectional (stock). Or is there a reason not to use the internal antenna connectors?
Hey dude, I finally got around to making that upgrade. Thanks a bunch for all your help, seriously appreciate it. Oh, and btw, in my latest video where I'm testing out those antennas, I gave your video a shoutout. It totally deserves more views, man! Good luck up there bro!
:))) Oh, so that was you, huh? :)) Now it makes sense... source: channel pages :)) Well, things could've been a lot better if I didn't have to move around during the flight because of some interference (had some tractors passing by, so I had to shift when I was about 2-3 km out, and didn't quite get aligned with the drone, it was about 30 degrees off coverage). Definitely gonna do another test. But hey, I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out!@@piotr.G_lab
Hello thank you for this very encouraging video, please where can we buy these antennas and all the accessories that we see in the video ? Thank you in advance,
Can you comment on the performance you got going from the stock linear to these antennae? I've seen some people swap the antennas on the goggles 2 but didn't see much of a difference, maybe 5% +/-. Interested in your experience.
Sorry I can't say precisely I didn't make any range tests. I can just say that I fly now at 3kms away with a comfortable bitrate in the range of 20-30 mbps
Awesome! I also wanted to make a similar video but gave up. All the parts I assumed would work didn’t lol. Thanks for figuring it out. Will follow your instructions and subbed! 👍🤩
Only for this mod I would have purchased integra. I still miss my v2. In my opinion its the most versatile hd goggles. I brought goggles 2. Can you please tell me if I can do the same on g2 ? Or atleast little bit of heads up, because I want to use my truerc x ii m2 on my g2.
Fantastic work! I actually went with the goggles 2 because of the removable antennas and changeable battery. No regrets so far, but this mod would have made that decision much harder if it had been out when I "upgraded" my goggles from the V2's. I still think the ability to swap batteries and run different packs makes the goggles 2 the better choice, but I am really impressed with your solution here. Subbed.
Bought goggles 2 during the holiday sale for $430 USD but I returned them due to the wide FOV which is great in theory and should have been in application, if not for DJI making the lenses too small. Even with the face mask removed and my eyeball pressed right up to lens with lashes touching, I could not see around the lens outer diameter enough to view the wide FOV of the display screens. I picked up a set of Integras and they are much better, but still cut a small amount off with the left menu being a little blurry as well. I do love the top strap which helps me have the goggles tighter on my head without putting pressure on ton of my nose and if the battery dies I can simply plug in a XT60 to USB C cable.
@@piotr.G_lab Thank you, I'll check it out. I'm using all LHCP antennas on my Long range drone and will attempt to swap all the integra antenna to match it. I'm going to attempt to disconnect the other ufl and add True RC patches like your video, Also add True RC stubbies too! I'll see if your file can be modded somehow to fit it all. Will tag you as inspiration when I complete it! Cheers.
16 srews right? that's feckin overkill hahaah....anyway, great video, detailed and informative. I have some questions though, which polarisation shall I choose when buying aerials? Or it don't matter? As you have more experience with mods this one will be easy to answer: could moding be done by only removing face plate drilling small holes for coax and attaching antennas that way? Without risking to dmage something inside googles? I am just curious ...
Question: I plan on buying the mini 3 pro to use with the integra googles and controller. Should I buy the mini pro 3 with the display on the controller, or save a hundred dollars on the combo with a controller that has no display?
Thanks. One are to be printed in PLA and other in TPU. Actually the design in TPU is better. So just print two times tpu_upper and one time tpu_rh_lower and tpu_lh_lower 🫡
Yea if you take it apart to its pieces and void your warranty that’s non removable to most people. Like apple’s memory on their macs is non removable but if you got the skills you could solder new chips on there…everything is possible if you look at it that way.

G2 is even easier to do because the antenna is replaceable from factory. Integra is a fixed one and that's why he made this DYI version.
