The easy way would be to ziptie/tape them to the stock linear antenna plastic housings. They fold anyway and the patches and ufl cables can fold with them, no more worrying about sma wearing out. For this method you can even go with the longer and more powerful X2 air. I heard that Truerc can custom-make them with ufl.

Hi, good question!! I don't think it is, the GPS seem to have other wires going into it coming from the left side. The blue and white wires with U.FL goes under the gps, but seems to be reaching for the front of the goggles. Who knows I might be wrong though! Thanks for trying it! I agree with all your points! I think everyone is going to have different results for sure. There’s a myriad of factors at play which makes it so interesting. The downside to my own setup (LHCP on drone and goggles) is I can’t fly drones equipped with stock o3 antenna as far anymore. Noticeably they have been performing a bit worse. I think if matched with o3 stock antenna will not perform as well, but I think still ok for short to medium ish range! (1-5km) will test soon!
I would suggest to keep the stock antenna for the avata since the goggles is designed with that drone in mind. The only reason we change these antenna is for the custom drones. We can change the antenna on both sides easily. Unless you can change the avata antenna too, but I don’t know anything about that. If you want better range just make sure not to go behind too many obstacles as well.
Have a read around the comments, I think some ppl have tried. Unsure if successful. Goggles 2 would only be the front section of the goggles as the top ones pull out directly
I have an issue with the front prints, the screws don't go in far enough so I am not able to screw the piece to the goggles. Does anyone know how to fix? Maybe something wrong with the 3D print?
Did you try longer m2 screws? What’s inside is the internal plastic holder. (Same one that holds the antennas). But DJI uses this same plastic piece to hold the front screws. If the internal plastic antenna holder shifted somehow then it will be hard to screw them in.
@@hknight007 it did. Different connections though. Use mcx to sma on top and then I had to feed the cables for patches through the vents. Fiddly but still looks clean. All 3d prints works. As for range improvement, I feel more comfortable with it but no hard evidence it's better.
I am confused you don't use dual band stubby antennas this leads me to believe I change antennas to rhcp I forget if that is possible, 5,8ghz only I just need to match replacing DJI antenna with two RHCP. 5.8ghz and another set on goggles. This and triple feed patch antennas for $5 same performance without plastic enclosures. DUALITY 2.4/5.8 STUBBY FOR DJI would actually be best if this is not true.
I want to just take the electronics, screens, and lenses out of the Goggles 2, and put them in a completely different shell with normal antennas. Why does DJI always have to torture us like this?!

@@PattyFlipz Thought about using longer screws, will try and order some.
Thanks for the reply and also for this video, great work
Just wanted to add here that it worked by using slightly longer screws from a standard M2-M3 pack, in case anyone runs into the same issue
@LazyPanda21 great glad it worked out
perfect, now to find a cheap pair of them second hand
Totally!! 👍
Anyone done this for Goggles 2 yet? I assume its the same, I'm about to try it.
Did it worked?
@@hknight007 it did. Different connections though. Use mcx to sma on top and then I had to feed the cables for patches through the vents. Fiddly but still looks clean. All 3d prints works. As for range improvement, I feel more comfortable with it but no hard evidence it's better.
@@WillEgby Awesome! Thank you so much 🙌
yessss
I am confused you don't use dual band stubby antennas this leads me to believe I change antennas to rhcp I forget if that is possible, 5,8ghz only I just need to match replacing DJI antenna with two RHCP. 5.8ghz and another set on goggles. This and triple feed patch antennas for $5 same performance without plastic enclosures. DUALITY 2.4/5.8 STUBBY FOR DJI would actually be best if this is not true.
Nice Man New subscriber 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Thanks man! 🔥
Nice!
Thank you John!
I want to just take the electronics, screens, and lenses out of the Goggles 2, and put them in a completely different shell with normal antennas. Why does DJI always have to torture us like this?!
For real. This mod basically just makes this the old walksnail goggles. Which came out like 2 years ago
The goggles 2 antennas come out if you just pull in them
@user-cb8ef5ki9u yes sir
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
keren bang
why would it be different to do this on goggles 2?
Antennas are different. They clip in and are removable on the g2s meaning there would be a piece left behind
💯
