Special thanks to @piotr.G_lab for the inspiration. Also he provided an excellent high quality video tutorial. Without his video, I would have gave up on this. His STL files are ultra precise too! You are very talented sir!
Also to @gregdavidd for the idea to do all the antennas! (Since my main LR drones use LHCP anyway)
Full Testing Video Coming Soon.

Warnings:
* Do this at your own risk. This is totally un-tested for Long Range and unproven, I don't know anything about the circuitry of the goggles, there could be unknown factors at play. I love to experiment, even through trial and error. I've tested it behind concrete walls while I'm at the other end of the park, and to a max 2km distance and there were no issues seen at this moment in time.
* I also mentioned the front TPU portion may also fit the Goggles 2 front face screws. I'm just spewing sh** out of my mouth so try at your own risk. I never took apart the Goggles 2 so I don't know. Maybe it's a good time to experiment before a newer version arrives. XD

Testing Methods:
* Try it at a open and recoverable field. Try all types of antennas on your quad (linear, LHCP, etc.) Go behind concrete objects, fly edge to edge in the field etc. note your results.
* When comfortable, with your biggest battery pack and best matching antennas, and you tested GPS RTH is confirmed working, go send it with full VLOS of goggle to drone with absolutely no obstructions. See if it goes further than your current record with your stock oem antennas. Note the results and report in.

You provided an amazing gift to the FPV Community! Thank you! Amazing pro produced video!
Thank you so much for the kind comments and thank you for watching! 🙏
Awesome mod, and yes FPV flying + FPV build and mod is great fun, enjoyed your cool video 😎👍
Thank you!🙏
Thank you very much for the video tutorial, always successful
No problem! Hope it works out 👍💪
Wow nice one ! I like the idea of re-using the screws on the front cover 😁 thanks for mentionning my video! About the cap design I see you printed it in tpu, I printed it in tpu and pla and both left me not completely satisfied. The tpu is too flexible and the pla too fragile.. maybe there's something to improve there also 😀
Oh for sure! Yeah it’s still easy to remove as TPU, or maybe get knocked around, I don’t mind it though! But for sure if you want an OEM feel perhaps someone can try ABS ! Thanks again for the great video and 3d files to get all our imaginations going! 😃🙏
You should try carbon TPU. It's very strong with a nice finish. Also better quality than only TPU.
Can’t wait for your “send it” test. I always wanted to know if aftermarket antennas can improve the integras.
Awesome content and even better production bro! 🔥 love the white background in your vids.
Thanks Dopey!!
Need to see this woth the goggles 3
Thank you very much for making this, going to make it on my integras 👌
Awesome keep us updated !
I don’t have these goggles, but great video, very helpful for folks!
Looks cool when modified 😅
Ahhaha yeah if it performs worse all good.. at least it looks modded. all show no go! Jk will test more soon. 💪
Very important info :) thanks for sharing
Excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
Appreciate the video, I did the mod following your guide however I don't notice any real improvement, I did kind of expect that and im sure in some situations the range will be better, but I guess because of where I usually fly its unable to really push it any further, I wanted to do the mod just because and I really want to learn and understand how to get more range but I think alot of it is just flying LOS and not behind stuff, thats how you get range but I guess adding better antennas at this point isnt really going to increase your penetration enough to make a difference compared to stock let me know if Im wrong, either way thanks again for the awesome tutorial, maybe i'll try some other antennas in the future :)
Thanks for trying it! I agree with all your points! I think everyone is going to have different results for sure. There’s a myriad of factors at play which makes it so interesting. The downside to my own setup (LHCP on drone and goggles) is I can’t fly drones equipped with stock o3 antenna as far anymore. Noticeably they have been performing a bit worse. But when flying matching antenna on both drone and goggles, it’s definitely most important thing I think is no blind spots with the antenna (position it correctly where it can never be blocked), and no interference (nice rural area without too much signals) and no obstructions between you and the drone, like trees and mountains.
@@PattyFlipz theres so many things I don't know and I learned a bit more lastnight, going to try changing some settings and see what happens, I usually fly in a area with alot of obstructions and signals, I was also suggested to try the X²-AIR 5.8 MK II, have you tried any other antennas yet?
Love to see it!
Thank you for the video! Just what ive been looking for :)
2 questions if you have a sec:
1. With this setup can you use any analog SMA antennas you already have for the digital signal?
2. Seems like most aftermarket o3 air unit antennas are LHCP. As long as they match the receiver can you use 2x 5.8gh RHCP antennas on the o3 with the same style SMA adapters? (I know the default is a 2.4gh rc and 5.8gh video. I dont use the DJI rc link)
Thanks in advance! Excited to try this out
Melt the plastic with a soldering iron (this is why you probably own that weller 140w soldering iron not knowing ever using it, but for some reason have it)
Great 👍 thanks for sharing this nice tutorial.
Thank for all man❤
Cool Mod! I'll definitely be doing this for my Goggles 2. I'm sure it's basically the same thing. Maybe I'll make a quick video on it lol!
For sure! 👍 looking forward to it!
Let me know how it goes. The main reason i didnt get the goggles 2 was the worse non changable antennas. Maybe Ill pick up a set now
Any update? If so did it work?
hello pls update
Have you succeeded to upgrade Googles 2? Do you have any video for the this?
Great video! Will definitely want to try this!
This is super cool
thanks for this awesome mod
Great video and information.
Don’t forget matching antennas are important! You know which ones??
Hi! For me, Yes. I’m matching to LHCP antennas on my drones. Such as the TBS Triumph Pro and iflight albatross on my chimera and prototype frames. and all the drones that use vista too!!! I think if matched with o3 stock antenna will not perform as well, but I think still ok for short to medium ish range! (1-5km) will test soon!
Great content 👍
yessss
Anyone done this for Goggles 2 yet? I assume its the same, I'm about to try it.
Did it worked?
@@hknight007 it did. Different connections though. Use mcx to sma on top and then I had to feed the cables for patches through the vents. Fiddly but still looks clean. All 3d prints works. As for range improvement, I feel more comfortable with it but no hard evidence it's better.
@@WillEgby Awesome! Thank you so much 🙌
Thanks for the tutorial! Isn't the O3 air unit stock antenna a linear antenna? So to maximize range you might want to change that as well
Yup! I use LHCP on all my long range quads
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing this 👍
I have Goggles 2, will this 3D prints work on my goggles? Or do they only work on the Integra?
Cheers 🙌
Hi! Not sure if others have chimed in yet, but I'm thinking this is mainly for the integra. Just scour the comments section, some ppl here are talking about their findings with modding the goggles 2, but I haven't had time to look at the comments. Thanks and goodluck.
@@PattyFlipz Thank you, I'll do that. Cheers 👍👍
for this kind of upgrade in dji integra what kind of antennae used in the o3 unit system ? Then really this informative video thanks for 3d print design
Hi I personally used two tbs long range triumph pro lhcp . www.team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:triumph_pro_lsma_lr you would also need two ufl to sma adapters. But any long reputable lhcp antenna with ufl will do too.
@@PattyFlipzWill this modd improve the signal for Quads using Caddx Vista with LHCP antenna on it?
Thanks!
@@hknight007 it's a perfect match, so technically it will work very nice, like a modded goggles v2. As for better signal, I do not know. Main thing is don't go behind any objects and make sure you have good antenna placement where it does not get blocked when you turn your quad.
@@PattyFlipz that sounds awesome, Thank you so much for your help 🙌
Nice!
Thank you John!
Very nice job !
I have one question, the blue and white cables are not the cables for the GPS?
Hi, good question!! I don't think it is, the GPS seem to have other wires going into it coming from the left side. The blue and white wires with U.FL goes under the gps, but seems to be reaching for the front of the goggles. Who knows I might be wrong though! XD But it would be my first time seeing GPS using U.FL if so.
Also, there are no errors displayed on the OSD. I would think if you unplugged gps by accident an error message would show up.
@@PattyFlipzFor the error, according to my research, GPS is only used when you use DJI drones and therefore remote ID. So i don't think the goggles check for GPS if not needed.
Also, when you check for spare part for DJI integra you can found a GPS Antenna for DJI Goggles Integra using ufl but only one cable.
@Cornusse thanks for checking, I think I remember now, you can see the single white wire going to the left side, the ufl from gps goes to the very left side of the goggles.
keren bang
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
About to do this. How have you found it? Better signal? Thanks for the video.
Hi all I can confirm so far is it’s in normal operation. Here is a flight that I sent it as far as the battery would allow me and still had enough signal to keep going. But I turned around because I want my drone back.
th-cam.com/video/dxSvBEjHxo4/w-d-xo.html
But according to another sub he has confirmed he went 9km with stock integra goggles and a carefully placed stock o3 antenna. Anyway do what you need to do! 😂 I feel like the total LHCP set up may have better penetration or signal going around a few objects though. 👍
perfect, now to find a cheap pair of them second hand
Totally!! 👍
Nice video!
I'm still new in the game and was wondering if it's possible to do this mod and add antennas that makes the dji googles able to run with hdzero system(for tiny whoop). Again great video!
Hi, no this mod is completely unrelated to that. Viewing hdzero in goggles integra at the moment I don’t think it’s possible or I haven’t seen the product, it usually looks like an add in box module you plug into the side. I think the old goggles v2 you can buy a plug in adapter to view analog (I don’t know if it can view hdzero)
Nice Man New subscriber 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Thanks man! 🔥
Great video, thank you!
Can you release the f3d files so I can modify them? Thank you!
Hi, the prints were remixed using a program called blender. So if you mod the prints you'll have to do the same.
@@PattyFlipzthank you, looks like ill just build it from scratch on fusion, shouldnt be too hard!
I am confused you don't use dual band stubby antennas this leads me to believe I change antennas to rhcp I forget if that is possible, 5,8ghz only I just need to match replacing DJI antenna with two RHCP. 5.8ghz and another set on goggles. This and triple feed patch antennas for $5 same performance without plastic enclosures. DUALITY 2.4/5.8 STUBBY FOR DJI would actually be best if this is not true.
Did you use RX ELRS? Mine can’t penetrate a single concrete wall, it’s awlays signal lost
No I use tbs, but I recently installed ELRS but haven’t played with it yet. Default is really low. I think like 25mw. Try going in your transmitter menu and turning up the power to 100w to start.
Hello, I am a beginner in Korea
I have a patch antenna.
Which antenna should I buy separately for the video?
I use O3 air unit, and the receiver uses ELRS
I want to just take the electronics, screens, and lenses out of the Goggles 2, and put them in a completely different shell with normal antennas. Why does DJI always have to torture us like this?!
For real. This mod basically just makes this the old walksnail goggles. Which came out like 2 years ago
The goggles 2 antennas come out if you just pull in them
@user-cb8ef5ki9u yes sir
How does it behave when the drone is for example on your left or back.
Will try that.. later today actually!
@@PattyFlipz Thank you for dedicating your time and energy to contribute to the community.
Im taking the goggles 2 apart to do this mod but the screws are stuck in there and i cant get them out. Did you have any difficulty with this?
Which screws? The front ones on the grey part? I think all the screws have a dab of blue lock tight too . I didn’t have tooo much trouble. Just need to push your tool in deep and twist. As for the rear just a really good small bit Philips head and driver , the typical screwdrivers to take apart small electronics like laptops.
@@PattyFlipz the ones that hold the face plate in. Im gonna try super gluing the screwdriver to then tonight
@@PattyFlipz the ones that hold the face plate in. Im gonna try super gluing the screwdriver to then tonight
@@KcCake how did it go? Did it come off? 0_0
@@PattyFlipz decided against using it since i dont want it to accidentally stick to my goggles 😬
I did some research and will try using a latex glove, and aluminum foil.
If both of those dont work i need to send them in to dji anyways for something else so I will ask kindly for them to leave the screws a little looser
I have the goggles 3 and how can you make the screen bigger?. Is their a lense replacement that will make it a bit bigger and more emersive?
Hi, sorry I do not know! Your techs newer than mine! 😂👍
Hii.. great video, anyone can help me, i have dji avata and what type antenna i should buy, LHCP or RHCP ..thank so much
I would suggest to keep the stock antenna for the avata since the goggles is designed with that drone in mind. The only reason we change these antenna is for the custom drones. We can change the antenna on both sides easily. Unless you can change the avata antenna too, but I don’t know anything about that. If you want better range just make sure not to go behind too many obstacles as well.
Can I fly the avata with this Upgrade?
You probably can but I would stick with the standard antenna most likely
do the steps and products also work on goggles 2 ??
The tpu print might work for the front ones. But I heard some ppl have trouble removing the screws for whatever reason. For the top ones you just need to find compatible goggles 2 antenna. It swaps out using mmcx connectors. The tpu print for the front ones is in the description below.
I have an issue with the front prints, the screws don't go in far enough so I am not able to screw the piece to the goggles.
Does anyone know how to fix? Maybe something wrong with the 3D print?
Did you try longer m2 screws? What’s inside is the internal plastic holder. (Same one that holds the antennas). But DJI uses this same plastic piece to hold the front screws. If the internal plastic antenna holder shifted somehow then it will be hard to screw them in.
@@PattyFlipz Thought about using longer screws, will try and order some.
Thanks for the reply and also for this video, great work
Just wanted to add here that it worked by using slightly longer screws from a standard M2-M3 pack, in case anyone runs into the same issue
@LazyPanda21 great glad it worked out
💯
why would it be different to do this on goggles 2?
Antennas are different. They clip in and are removable on the g2s meaning there would be a piece left behind
