Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.
Sultan Süleyman wants to show what kind of sultan he is by the commands he gave on the first day of his sultanate. But not everyone will like these decisions. Sultan Süleyman does not hesitate to challenge all of Europe with the messages he sends.
Alex, despite all his rebellion, is brought to the Topkapi palace. His attitude attracted the attention of Valide Sultan from the first moment. But it won't be long before Alex learns the rules of the palace. He chooses a great target. Alex, Sultan Suleyman's first night on the way to attract his attention. Sultan Suleiman's wife Mahidevran just arrived from the palace of Manisa. He is looking forward to seeing his wife.

Bu sırada, Karadeniz üzerinden içi köle yüklü bir kadırga, İstanbul’a doğru gelmektedir. Kölelerden en ateşli olanı ise, kaderini değiştirecek olan yolculuğa çıktığının henüz farkında değildir. Geri dönmek için çaresiz bir şekilde isyan etmektedir.
Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.
Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Eşi ile görüşmeyi sabırsızlıkla beklemektedir.

I know it these times it was how it was, but really. Hurrem would lose her head with children just because she once loved someone else before she was enslaved and because she kept some feelings for him, but sultan could have as many women as he wanted, being with them physically and romantically. Hurrem had nothing but fear of her life and lost Leo eventually, even tho they were innocent.

I think when the woman Suleyman loves begin to claim entitlement over him, he begins to feel that woman want to make him a puppet of power. Just like Mahidevran's attitude early in the series as well as Valide. During this episode Hurrem also began to develop the same tendency. The more the woman tryto enforce ownership over him, the more he does the opposite of what the woman wishes. (Mahidevran wants to be the only woman, Valide wants to keep the order/power in the harem to her only, Hurrem wants to be the lord over other women).

@@spark8551 We were never shown what really happened to her. Suleiman told Ibrahim she was sent away in a ship to a convent near her home to repent for her sins. Ibrahim, who believed she was dead from the poison, looked really shocked. Prior to what Suleiman told him, he made up his own story to tell what happened to her! Someone was lying, or there may have been many palace people in on the coverup. It all started when Ibrahim had sent Nigar to poison Isabella and her maid as he wanted Hurrem to be blamed. The maid died, but Isabel lived, we saw Hurrem telling Gul Agh and Nigar to dump her and maid in the sea, but the last thing we see/hear is Gul Agh repeat that the princess is alive. So who knows? Could they have let her live? I don't think so, she had been used, abused, and deflowered by Suleiman. Her family would have went to war, but they already believed her to be dead in the fire.

In fact, a actress who plays a princess says that Isabella didn't died in her interview.

As backwards as this sounds, but I see Suleyman likes his women to be a bit subservient in his presence as a Padishah. When the woman he loves or in his family acts like his equal (in terms of power) he sees it like they want to outdo him, the only Padishah. That attitude puts him off. As the series goes by, Hurrem began to learn to refine her speeches and maintain her composure when it comes to power struggle in fron of Suleyman. Suleyman has no problem being loyal, in the name of love. That was his weakness, he looks up to the idea of love.
Very interesting comment, I've never seen the patterns but yes Suleyman definitely does this. He won't allow anyone whether they're men, women, Pasha or Grand Vizier to control him or to use him.
He never loved other woman except Hurrem
