At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.

What a scene ! What an expression , rather series of expressions!!
Sultan was visibly impressed by Princess's personality and beauty, however, remained tough, controlled and within his majestic gesture.
On the other hand, Princess had never shy to express her unhappiness on captivity with rudeness even before the Sultan himself !! Super performances ❤❤.

Ah, that's a useless arc of the story. Call me when it's over.
Not specifically even though Isabella didn't deserve her fate and wasn't a bad person, I found her character tasteless and unnecessary for the impact of the story.
If the creators absolutely wanted a princess in the harem they should have talked about princess Kera Tamara, Mara Branković, Despina Hatun, Ayse Hatun princess of Crimea... Instead of Farya and Isabella

Wasn't Mara Khatun the mother of the Mehmet the Conquerror?

@@fidanras No it was Huma Hatun the mother of Mehmed II. Mara Hatun was the stepmother of Mehmed and as she had no children Mehmed was like her son and he respected her a lot. She was a true help to him.

@@nesiacha3659 Huh!? That was out of my knowledge. I knew that Mara was the mom.
      Anyway,
A note for the Isabella Fortuna character in the series :
When the scenarist decided to add the character to the series. They first planned to add her that she was married and Pirates kidnapped a married woman.Suleiman was supposed to accept a married woman rather than engaged.
But When they introduced the original script to the producer , the producer was afraid of the reactions from Turkish people. And They decided to show her that she was engaged rather than married.
      ;)
I wonder what would your reaction be then?

      @@fidanras Oh interesting.
I know that the writters make Isabella
to mean that even a princess couldn't win against Hurrem (more precisely that Suleiman would only "love" Hurrem).
The reaction would have been the same: historical truth is much more interesting than this kind of drama.

@@nesiacha3659 Yea. There are already many things bend to the today's values to gain the interest of the audiences.
Including a Spanish princess too. You know the series have been viral in South america as well.
Fortuna lived in different era I guess.
