- I put a poll up there on the Twitters yesterday, asking what you fine folks prefer: quick-and-dirty (but timely) videos, or smooth-and-polished (but delayed) ones. Those who responded were pretty much split right down the middle, so I decided to do what I maybe should've done in the first place: I put the question to my boss. And he wanted you folks to see this video as soon as I could shoot it.
Here, then, is fifteen minutes of some of the fiercest, blood-lettin'-est, nastiest head-to-head action in existence, featuring the Samsung Galaxy S III doing battle against the newest phablet on the block, the Galaxy Note II. There ain't no fancy transitions or angled shots, and there's no background music; just two smartphones locked in an eternal struggle to figure out who's got the quickest boot time, page load turnaround, camera launches ... and who soaks up the most fingerprints. Excellent video. Most videos done on phones zip thru the comparisons so fast you don't have time to absorb what they are trying to say. They also keep moving the screens so fast and tapping on icons so haphazardly, that you don't know what the hell their point is. So, thank you for a clear, concise review. -- I choose the Note 2 because bigger is usually better and I like the extra feature of the S Pen.

I agree with Rick! I had some strange looks when I first pulled out my Note II at work. But once folks got a good look at what the Note II could do and how sweet the videos and games looked on the screen, their looks changed. Sure the phone is large, but it's like having the power of both a cell phone and tablet that still fits in my pocket. If all you do is chat and text with friends, an s3 will seem large. However, if you like doing everything under the sun with your smartphone, go note II.

My sis has a Note 2 and my gf an S3. I'm just happy they didn't argue over which was better when they met up yesterday
As soon as he mentioned how much louder, and deeper the speaker was, and showed the audio comparison, I was in. I was anxious to get an S3 from T-mobile in the next few weeks, now I'm anxious to try out the Note II, Upgrading from an original Galaxy S so this'll be a world of a difference, 2GBs of ram!? My phone for the past year and a half has has 384MB, no more long load times, and unescapable freeze ups, plus I'll be getting new Android versions, I've been stuck on 2.3.5 for a year almost.

Hey where do you get that clock widget for the S3? I just ordered my S3 today and the one I was playing with at the store didn't have any of those clock widgets.
Not sure if u stated that tho PPI is lower in G.NOTE 2 than the SG3 .. resolution is 1280x720 on both however SG3 uses pentile screen as opposed to G.NOTE2 uses RGB screen .. therefore crating a more crisper and less grainy screen .

I love my Note 2. It is buttery smooth in all operations. Split screening two apps at once and having them both run perfectly will make anyone a believer. And the handwriting recognition is astoundingly good. Looked at the note 3 but I like the feel of the 2 better. No need to change. Maybe next generation, but I'm in no hurry. Amazing phone.

4:28 indeed! I bought my galaxy Note not even thinking about that and I was a little disappointed that it didn't come with a notification light.... or an HDMI input.
I love my Note II and wouldn't change. I had an iPhone 4S until recently, but I wouldn't go back. The big screen is fabulous!
What is the name of the Weather/Clock Widgets that you had on these phones?
I have the note 2 and I love it. I was wondering in thr lock screen how can I make the text mail pop up in the middle of the screen. Cant figure it out.

Omg! I struggled for a bit wondering if you were using a computer's voice or if you were actually talking.
in case you don't know what i pixel is, it is all the small points of light on the screen that light up at different colors and intensity to make up the picture. but to make different colors, each pixel needs a red, green and blue one inside it. pen-tile is a way to cheat around this. each pixel can only reproduce a certain color set.

my s2 has problem too do you have any headphone mode volume auto change and auto reboot? and UI system crash?
How much battery life should I be expecting? I have T-Mobile and i keep my background data off, 3g/4g off, wifi on if there is signal in range (for wireless calling) and my gps, auto roatate and everything else off
Your voice, is so silky smooth.
I have the Note2 4G and bought in christmas for my wife the quadcore version of the S3. Both great machines.

How's there recording videos sound? I remember there was a problem with video sound when a went to concert and recorded the loud speakers. The video sound was a trash. What's up with the note 2? I know that the iphone loud sounds is not a problem.
That depends on you, and what each person needs.
Imo if it's a gift the Note 2, if I were to buy it with my moneyz, the S3 no doubt.
Make sure not to stay in Energy Saving mode.
Also in the settings>Developer options>Limit background processes, toggle 1 process at most or 4 processes at most if you're feeling like it. This'll reduce the lag quite a bit.

Hello im looking to buy a new phone and I can't decide witch to get. Gs3 or the note 2 please help. I don't like the huge screen but it still looks really nice.
That's actually why I chose to get the S2 instead of the S3 once the S3 finally came out (I came from an iPhone). I prefer the squared out phones more than rounded, although I really did like the feel of the Nexus a lot.
I really need to do my own review of the Note II, because I've seen dozens and NONE have come close to highlighting all of the great features of my Note II. Some of which are:
- Using voice commands to take pictures. I can say "Shoot" or "Cheese" and my Note II will automatically take a photo.
- I can wake-up/unlock the phone using voice commands.
- "Quick View" uses the phones light sensor to activate the screen, briefly, to show the date, time, and missed calls/text/emails.

FYI, and as the person in this video briefly pointed out. the boot up comparison is not gonna be a fair one because the carriers added extra boot animation to their variants.
