The WWF's Ground Zero: In Your House PPV took place on September 7th 1997. After what Shawn Michaels did at SummerSlam 97, The Undertaker was looking for revenge. A singles match between HBK and The Phenom headlined Ground Zero, the very first match these two would have on Pay Per View.
In the semi-main spot, Bret Hart defended his WWF Championship against The Patriot. Hart lose to The Patriot on an episode of Raw is War leading up to this PPV, so The Patriot thought he could do it again and take away The Hitman's championship in the process.
The PPV review is part of the Wrestling Bios "Reliving The War" series.

      I agree.
      IMO, as long as:
      A: it's not a "big four" pay-per view.
B: it continues the story in a positive way.
DQ's are acceptable. This hits on both.

Days Left Until Bret Hart Leaves The WWF: 63
Seeing The Sultan wearing a track suit & shorts, while also wearing his mask & long ponytail, at the end when the locker room tries to break up Shawn & Taker is, without a doubt, one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. Also, sad to know that Ground Zero is the final PPV to feature two standards of the 1997 version of the Hart Foundation: Brian Pillman and Owen & Davey teaming up. The next four weeks of Reliving the War are going to be very sad to look at, when it comes to Pillman.

It seems like right after this PPV here concluded that night, Vince and Co. probably had a epiphany of how to really change with the times that were changing themselves. The "attitudes" of HBK, Hart, Austin, 'Taker, and others were the focus and genesis of the upcoming Era in WWF. Where as WCW had begun to escape from the old aesthetics of the early '90s and move with the counterculture of the mid to late '90s in taking a more realistic approach to booking & producing, the WWF was about to start cooking something special for the ages 😀 and I'm sooooooooo glad that this series is about to really educate the younger generation of wrestling fans who, unfortunately, wasn't alive to really experience the magic of "Attitude"

The ammount of work you put into things is just crazy. I plan on becoming a Patreon supporter soon. Keep up the good work.

Gotta say HBK vs. Taker vs. The Refs is probably the greatest Triple-Threat match we've seen so far on Reliving The War.

Considering how much Del was abusing his body, and his age, it's really incredible he had a nice little run here in the WWF.

Easily my favorite segment on the show. Such an exciting, devastating Wrestling hold, that CHINLOCK there 💪💪😜

If you enjoy this period, it's well worth reading "Slamthology" by John Lister. It includes some great stories about this show, the Terry Funk "retirement" show depicted in Beyond The Mat and others. It's an excellent slice of 90s wrestling history.
