    Becky- it sounds like one of your future wish list items should be a whole house generator. We bit the bullet when we moved to our home and it is SUCH a good feeling knowing that we are covered when the power goes out- as it will. It is a sizable bite- probably around $8,000-$10,000. I’m just picturing all that good food in your freezers- you definitely don’t want to lose all that.

      We have a natural gas Briggs and Stratton 12kw generator. It starts automatically when the power goes out- you don’t do anything manually. I’m wondering if Becky has propane and not natural gas. I know she has a propane stove/oven. I wouldn’t know anything about how that would work- but hopefully it is adaptable.

    • @Lonesome__Dove
      @Lonesome__Dove ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@susanbehler691 im sure its adaptable, gotta be right? That sounds so convenient and man is it helpful. I live in Florida and we don't lose power often but u never know when the next cat 5 hurricane is going to come through and keave ya without power for a week or two. I have an old generator, still works good but definitely need an upgrade and have been researching and saving. Big purchase for sure. I gotta say our power grid here is super tough, it takes a ridiculously strong storm for us to lose power. The electric company (Florida power and light) is phenomenal and is constantly reinvesting in the grid and maintenance makes me happy when i pay my bill knowing its going towards not only my current electricity but also keeping me worry free for storms (unless its a cat 5. We never lose power) 🙂❤️

    That’s GREAT Becky. It’ll be such a help for you especially that final harvest/clean up.
    And you have so much more land at your new place. I have my seeds all ordered and still lots here. I’m already growing lemon balm, and I’ve 2 Roma tomatoes - one is 10” now and flowering 🤗 canNOT wait
    We have a smaller greenhouse by the veggie garden and that’s where my gardening tools stay all summer as well as wheel barrow, whipper snipper and mower
    Enjoy the rest of your date you two ♥️😊

    We have a Polaris Ranger and we LOVE it!. It is a little work horse. The bed size has never been an issue for us and we haul feed and load used straw from goat barns in it every week. The bed dumps very easily. We can't believe how much we use our Ranger.

    Can't wait to see what you decide. I love the hydraulic type of lift. Will be so helpful especially when it's weighted down. You can always put a Rubbermaid type of large compact storage shed out in the garden for your basic tools.

    Becky check out Amazon's corrugated raised garden beds I just bought 2 6×3×2 ft tall. I'm 75 and love them. Just ordered 2 more. Less bending from my other beds. That side by side will be great don't forget to get a trailer to haul all your plants gravel or just dirt. Best of luck on the garden I love to grow my own food and freeze it. .

      John Deere also has an electric gator that's so quiet to use. Also look for a hydraulic lift for the drop box. When the box if full of mulch ect..it gets heavy to lift up. We are in the process of purchasing a UTV so for me 1. a cab with windshield, 2. battery operated so it's quiet. 3. able to attach a snow plow (or blower) for winter clearing the snow out of the driveway. 4.hydraulic lift box. Yes, it will be an expensive purchase but in the end it will have many uses and will be well worth it. Good luck!

    If you get a side by side with a tow hitch on it, they make a really awesome tool caddie that hooks up to the hitch of a side by side. It has vertical storage for shovels and additional areas for buckets and tools.
