My brother was in the army, talking to him on the phone one day he says "I'm cleaning my room" I said you cleaning? He said yes mother & you kept the house so clean I can't stand to live in a dirty space. We are making our loved ones better even if it takes some time to see the results. Thank you for this video you are so encouraging to watch.
Yes so true, you are your sanctuary which flows into your home. Keep the peace within your walls and carry it with you wherever you go throughout the day.
Same here! The biggest compliment I get is when my friends visit and say “I love your home it’s like a sanctuary.. it’s so peaceful “, it happens all the time.

Lisa, you are a precious gem on TH-cam. Your messages should be outshining every other genre. I grew up in a chaotic house where loud fighting was the norm, and there was very little kindness. So when I met my incredibly kind husband, I knew we could make a great life together. When my boys were young, I kept thinking, "create a simple life." This is why I feel such a personal connection to your channel. Because that is exactly what I did, 33 years ago. I created a cozy home, and made lots of special traditions, one being family meals. I was so fortunate to be able to stay home with my children, so I could keep an organized home and structure our days creating stability. I was always looking for ways to do nice things for my family, and our home was full of kindness and laughter. Reading some of the comments and watching this video gives me peace. It makes me realize that I'm not alone in making my home a priority. Thank you and all who commented so I know I'm not alone.
Your hair looks amazing! :) My home is cluttered. Due to health issues, I am not able to keep up with everything like I used to. Truth be told, we also have way too much stuff. My hubby and I are slowly paring down things, trying to keep only what we use and that brings us joy.
I'm in the same situation. Never expected to end up living this way. Because of health issues. I'm working on getting a routine together to keep up a little better. And hopefully, catch up a bit.
Am I the only one… as she is making a video about home being priority, I see the time and think to myself “ugh, only 9 minutes” I could listen to your wisdom, and calm all day!❤
Thank you! Oh! Animals are not "things", or "living things"; they are living beings! Even "pet" is a dismissive word... In my opinion! Great video and thank you!
Absolutely, I'm at peace when things run smoothly. Clean organized home, family time, meals together, keeping track of appointments. I feel its easier to deal with external problems when family and home are intact. These are some of my views for my family. I find it difficult to function in chaos.
I had to work with someone who was a hoarder. It just drove me nuts having to work in an environment where I could never find anything anymore and I was constantly having to sift through so many unnecessary things. Thank goodness I’m no longer working with this woman!
I'm the same, I have to have things as orderly as possible. I can't function or think straight if my house is untidy. I love to clean ( which a lot of my friends think is strange) but I find it very therapeutic and calming.
Also people who are depressed, have ADD, asperger's, trauma & other mental health and emotional issues as well as health issues already, have extreme difficulty keeping their homes clean. Some are not even physically able to do it. Back issues, gut issues, CFS, moderate/severe chemical/environmental sensitivies, migraines & more - possibly pre-existing the home one is in - prevent one from being able to take care of things. So it becomes a vicious cycle! I pray for everyone to be able to do what they can to begin to reverse the cycle!
Gut issues. And residual affects of balance, fatigue, vision and general wooziness from a stroke several years ago. Yup. It makes a difference. I'm really working hard again recently on finding a routine and trying to get decently caught up.
❤I’m feeling that nesting urge. After so many years working full time and unable to care for my home with love, I retiring. Gonna redecorate, sew, deep cleaning, cook from scratch many delicious dishes I want to share with friends and relatives. Looking forward homemaker times.❤😊
Love this. I never knew growing up in a messy home could cause depression and other issues. This explains a lot in my life. Thanks for teaching me something new. ❤
You are a very pretty lady. You radiate warmth, love, femininity, grace and dignity. It comes through the screen. A few verses from the Bible make me think of you. All of Proverbs 31, 1 Timothy 2:9-10 and Proverbs 14:1. My life was full of chaos and confusion. Home was always untidy and I grew up with parents who regretted marrying each other and ultimately regretted being parents to me. I never became a wife and mother out of fear that I'd be the same way to my family. I know no that God is greater than our hearts. He loves me. I need not fear love and family life. I'm working on mending the broken pieces. You've been such an inspiration. I needed to hear this message today. Thank you💕🌷
Some of these hardships we had as younger people stay with us for a long time and can be difficult...sounds like you recognize the ultimate good in life though...wishing you healing, peace and many bright days ahead :)
Thank you soo much for reminding us about these things my mother taught me. Women have got so caught up in outside world, for providing them with their sense of importance, they have forgotten the highest importance of all are the issues of home and family. It's the hardest and most rewarding experience. As a child, we knew comfort in knowing mom was always going to be there. A warm meal for supper. And Everyone sitting at the table, talking about their day. Such a simple act of sitting together has been lost. And so the family has been separated. Thank you again. I'm sending your videos to my children. ❤
I was blessed to be able to stay home and raise my children. I loved cooking and baking and all things homemaking. The greatest compliment I have ever received was from my daughters friend.(.she was about 12).. who told her she loved coming over to our house because it always smelled so good. .My kids are now in their early 30's and their friends still mention how much they loved eating at our house whether it was a meal..a snack or just cookies.
It is hard for some people to manage home and career who work fulltime. But having said that, I now learnt to prioritize home first on work, your words of wisdom are commandable.
Thank you so much Lisa for your wisdom. I agree 💯 with what you said. My home is my sanctuary and there are a few areas in particular that absolutely have to be done every day, keeping my dishes done, making my bed as soon as I get up and a clean bathroom, I do these things on a daily bases. Then all other chores are done on a weekly basis. This helps make my home and day comfortable and calm. I make it a point to always display family pictures especially current ones of my grandchildren. They add sunshine to my life ♥️ I’ve also added many plants to my indoor space , they truly help with my peace of mind. Definitely so many positive things, energy and peace needed in our homes in today’s world. Oh and my two fur babies add so much pleasure to my life as well🐶🐶
Thank you so much. Much needed talk about making our home a sanctuary of peace. It all starts from home. Our children who come from a well organised home , helps them make informed decisions in their lives. 🎉🎉🎉❤.
Just found your channel and I couldn’t agree more. As a seasoned educator I definitely see the correlation between order in life and success. A reality in life is that there’s a very high percentage of ADHD in our population. I see it every day. There should be zero shame in having this condition (I deal with it myself), but the executive function in the brain of those with ADHD struggles mightily with organizing, prioritizing, and moving from step to step. People with this condition thrive when they get the right structures, systems and routines in place. Once this is done they don’t have to think about routine things and it frees our brains up to pursue the business of life. My home, yard, car, finances (paperwork and phone calls), laundry, shopping, cooking, errands and personal care (not necessarily in that order) take some significant time during my week to keep everything in the order I like, but at the same time it gives me peace back and time in other ways. Love your channel…I’m a new subscriber 😀
God Bless You. Thank you so much for your beautiful inspiring message. A strong reminder to tend to our home lives and to appreciate the joy and importance of it.
Thank you so much, Lisa! What a magnificent remembrance to start my day. I feel exactly like that, and in this modern, throw away culture, i often feel like a dinosaur. But it feels heavenly...🥰
Such an inspiring video this one is, Lisa. I couldn`t help but remember something we used to tell the pastor after listening to the sermon.... that we will either feel 'good' about ourselves, or it`s 'Oops! Need to make some changes!' :) I often get so much inspiration from you, & the way you present things to us, makes it all seem doable. As others have said here..especially in today`s frightening world..our homes are indeed our sanctuaries now. Thank you for helping us remember that four walls & a roof make a house....WE have to make it a home.
Hi Lisa, I tried to email, but my tech skills are lacking. I want to thank you so much for your refreshing content. I have been watching your channel for sometime now and, I always come away feeling better, a little more inspired and definatley feel a sense of calm just hearing you speak and offer your wisdom and guidance. Today, I realized I have run out of excuses for not attending to my home as I used to and in fact haven't for the past year. If my home is a reflection of me...I am a mess and have allowed my lethargy to settle in and doing so, have ensured my isolation remains. Today, I WILL start with one small space and reclaim my beautiful old home. Thank you!
I've been telling my husband this for years. What are you without a home ? Nothing. I love spending money on my home. Upgrading, updating, maintaining. So many people let their homes go these days and waste their money. Without a home you're dead in the water. People judge you on your home and how clean it is. It speaks a lot to your character and obviously your priorities. Spending time in a well-maintained, clean home is very close to Heavenly as you can get. Who wants to spend time in an old outdated, stinky home. Nobody that's who; it's depressing. I was raised by a clean Grandmother and Aunts.
What an absolutely beautiful video. You have been able to encapsulate the very essence of the nature and connection between a healthy home and a thriving family. Thank you for such a coherent commentary. The world would have us believe that peace and contentment are so far out of our reach, when in fact, it just takes getting back to the basics. We all have the power within us to make our life, and the lives of our loved ones, better (not perfect, but better = more peaceful and meaningful). It's not about money. It's about really being aware and mindful. It's about a purposeful willingness to make choices that might not match-up with trends and might not be understood by others. It means being willing to slow down, sometimes being made to stop, and most assuredly always having a heart for service and spirit of sacrifice (service + sacrifice: two words that must once again become as common in our vernacular as they once upon a better time were). Your videos are a sweet song to a kindred spirit like me (also the daughter of Calabrian Depression/WWII era parents). I can especially relate to your point about showing discernment when it comes to what we allow our eyes to see, our ears to hear, and our minds to take in. It's been for many years now that the choices I make in movies, music, reading etc. all reflect the beauty, virtues, joy, and peace that I desire to be filled with instead of the dark and doom most often presented to us in pop culture. Please keep up your beautiful messages. The world needs them!
I appreciate this - I am 2 weeks out from surgery and my home has become so messy so fast but my kids are trying to get back to 'normal' now that they see how they can do more when I am 'down'. Although some people have avoidance, they just need gentle reminders.
Home is where the heart is and where we live with the peace that we put into our homes. A clean home and an organized home is so essential. Not to mention a beautiful home feels wonderful when we wake in the morning and that’s one of the first things that we see. It’ doesn’t need to be expensive things but comfortable and warm and inviting. Also books. Lots of books on beautiful bookshelves. Art and lots of colors and love.
Lisa, this video is so full of wisdom. The point you made about the horror movies really hit home with me. All the years of raising our children I absolutely would not allow content like that in our home. Also, no vulgar movies or content was allowed. I truly believe that type of content in a home is an open invitation to a darker world. My heart was to protect my family from that, to make my home a sanctuary from the evil of the outside world. I wanted my family to feel a warmth and love that only comes from above. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful video sweet friend ❤
Thanks, Jackie, I hear what you are saying about being careful with certain things having a foothold with young minds...the positive thing is that I think the pendulum is starting to swing with some young people and they are pursuing lives with more meaning ;)
Blessings+++!!! I can't live in a dirty messy house. My soûl just needs simple fonctionnal decluttered environment . I love your vidéos beautiful sister in Christ !
Once again a lovely, beautiful video and message. I raised raised in a home totally opposite of the homes you described however I with the help of Gcd and my husband have made a beautiful and warm home where we are our happiest. Thank you again for the content you share. God bless
This video resonates with me so much. I think it's so sad how people call everywhere, but they're home they're happy place. If your home is not your happy place then your life is really really sad. Prayers to those who don't have a happy place in their home.
Very good advice. My mother was very clean and tidy and she kept a beautiful home. Fresh cut flowers, beautiful rugs. Many items were thrifted but nonetheless mother put it all together in a cozy cottage way. Because of this I am the way I am today. I cannot stand dirty, unorganized homes. The way a person keeps their person will also be a reflection of the way their home is kept or unkept. Another thing my mother taught me to appreciate was reading. We had many wonderful books when I was growing up. Some of my favorite were by Author and Poet William Wadsworth. Today I am an avid reader. Really enjoyed this video. Thank you. Blessings from NE Texas, Debbie 🦋🌼
Thank you for this video! I recently started putting more effort into my home life, working on myself and marriage. It’s been struggle to undo the training but I’m seeing results from videoes like this and reading “FOR HUSBAND AND HOME: A MODERN WOMAN'S GUIDE TO BECOMING FEMININE, SOFT. AND SUBMISSIVE”
My brother took my home away when my father passed. I was supposed to get the house. I am living here and there now and working hard. It hurts not having a home!!
I am so sorry...my "mother" sold our house out from under us... IT was terrifying...and I have struggled ever since..but I try to keep my sentimentals and plants where ever I had to be...and made anywhere I was my home... But it is sad and insecure to have been stolen from and never helped.
You're so classy and give a 1940s vintage vibe which what I'm aspiring to. I'm new to your channel so idk if youve done a video on how you dress or general style, I would love some direction in that area!

A lovely video. Thank you so much. As you were talking about our children growing up and creating similar homes, it made me think back to realize my home is much like the one I grew up in, uncluttered and peaceful. And when visiting my daughter, the beautiful home she and her husband have created reflect these values too. Isn’t it amazing the influence we have on others without realizing it?
I always forget you're in western Canada. I'm in Alberta. Yes, I had actually purchased a huge bag of granulated sugar, brown sugar, and icing sugar, & 2 days later there was no sugar to be found. Great video!♥️🇨🇦
You're right , but today's economy makes it really tough. We were doing fine until right after the pandemic. Now, it's all we can do to keep up. I'm 60 and looking for ways to make.momey while staying home so life can be home . The struggle is real
One of your best videos ever. I work two jobs. After working all week, I'm exhausted at the end of the day and weekends. Dishes stacking up and things not put away drives me crazy. Going to think about ways to work this situation.
Working two jobs is tough, Cori...I'm sure the other community members will chime in with suggestions...one thing we did when our kitchen was out of commission was put parchment paper on our plates to cut down on the dishes we had to do...then we tossed the parchment after our meal ...we also used wooden stir sticks for coffee so we wouldn't constantly be using spoons...and coffee filters made great little snack bowls for popcorn and such...these were some temporary solutions that made things a bit easier until we had our kitchen running
@Cori I had the same problem. I worked 2-3 jobs for 40 years. I realized having someone do cleaning and scrubbing of floors every 2 weeks was such a " big deal". Much less money than getting hair done or nails done or other extra things. It was a priority.
@@vixxcottage I can't afford to get my nails done or go places. I guess I'm exhausted because of my jobs and having health issues that have set me back a great deal in being able to do as much as I am use to doing. Working on health right now is my top priority. A clean home makes me happy and stres free. I also moved into my Mom's house after she passed away. Have hug amount of stuff to get rid of and the cost to do it is to much money. I'm staying positive. One room at a time.
@Cori-se9ww well there are 2ays to cut expenses and I did it for many years. I never smoked or drank. Ate food from pantry and saved in other ways. Some agencies I have checked with here want $100s of dollars. Find a local person that cleans Dr office or something. Word of mouth. Half the price. Right now you are overwhelmed and the problem will be compounded each week. Been there done that.
Madamme, this is such a wonderful message i love to listen to. Praise God for giving you this deep insight about the insurmountable importance of a home.🙏
I am thankful every day for our home. It is more than a house. It is our happy place. It contains many items that we consider beautiful, useful, or that have sentimental value for us. We are so content here in this place. Each of us has lived in various other locations, but this is our true home. ❤
I just want to share my little experience as this topic is at my heart. When my children were 5 and 9years old i decided one day to make a barbecue for them or Braai as it called here in South Africa. My youngerst son didnt want to move from the fire and was waiting until the meat was ready. He grabbed anything and he was very happy. The barbecue cost was minor but the joy i could see on the face of my son was priceless. Since then we always have a Braai or Barbecue and we can stay even 2 h00 around the table talking about anything.REALLY there is no a BETTER PLACE THAN A WARM AND ORDERLY FAMILY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR WISE TEACHING❤❤❤
I need this right now. In a transition after moving family in my home and I let go of all my old home practices and spent time alone however it’s time to reorganize and create in my home again.
Beautiful way of thinking, and it’s very true that it can shape who you are as a person. I absolutely love having a tidy home and feel anxiety when things become to messy. It becomes overwhelming if everything piles up. I’ve started to really implement a schedule for cleaning days that way I can focus on other area in my week, like cooking and baking. And even as much as my daughter hates cleaning she agrees a clean room feels good. On a funny note watching horror movies makes you look under your bed and thus lets you see if its dusty and needs a clean 😆 😆, but that’s me trying to find the positive in everything. I feel that if we lived close I would definitely want to be friends with you, we have a lot of similarities in many areas. Thank you Lisa for your videos I look forward to them, they make me feel happy and inspired.

Thank you! Oh! Animals are not "things", or "living things"; they are living beings! Even "pet" is a dismissive word... In my opinion! Great video and thank you!
Our homes contain energy that needs regular clearing. Peace begins at home! ☮️
I lift you up in prayer asking God to give you strength and a sense of purpose to keep putting up videos...our world needs your message. Thank you!
Wow, thank you...many blessings to you ;)
Yes indeed I feel that we need more of these videos too.
Ok I guess it's time to put away my christmas decor.... Very inspiring Lisa.
Hahaha! Yes, we have some residual clean up as well
😂
Me too.
Add here & have such a difficult time keeping order in my small home.
Wonderful!
Me too!! Can't wait to stay home & be a house wife!!
@@asimpleseason2616 thank you💛
Thank you soo much for reminding us about these things my mother taught me.
That is awesome!
Oh and my two fur babies add so much pleasure to my life as well🐶🐶
sounds like you've created a wonderful space to grow in...many blessings to you :)
A throw away culture...wow, that hit me....I've thought about it and many aspects of our culture are exactly this
Such an inspiring video this one is, Lisa.
Thank you!
What a touching comment, Kimberley...thank you so much! I know you can do it as you said, one small space at a time :)
What a lovely comment...getting back to basics, a spirit of service and not worrying about being perfect but better :)
This is the truth and honesty of life said simply and truly. This is wise counsel. An excellent message to achieve contentment.
Blessings+++!!!
I can't live in a dirty messy house. My soûl just needs simple fonctionnal decluttered environment .
I love your vidéos beautiful sister in Christ !
Yes...... when our home is cleaned and organized we feel a sense of well being, physically and mentally! Thanks!
I haven't read anything by Wadsworth...I will check it out...reading is a wonderful hobby :)
@@asimpleseason2616 Yes please do, I think you would enjoy his books. 🌼
Great message! So many people seem to take their home for granted!
yes, so true...so important to stay grateful :)
Stay strong ❤
I am so sorry...my "mother" sold our house out from under us...
IT was terrifying...and I have struggled ever since..but I try to keep my sentimentals and plants where ever I had to be...and made anywhere I was my home...
But it is sad and insecure to have been stolen from and never helped.
Praying for you
You'll get there. Take care of yourself. Save money. I understand. Best wishes
You're so classy and give a 1940s vintage vibe which what I'm aspiring to. I'm new to your channel so idk if youve done a video on how you dress or general style, I would love some direction in that area!
Lisa, I could listen to you all day! You have a calming manner about you! I think your channel is my new favorite! Thanks so much! ❤
What a sweet and encouraging comment, Shirley...I'm so happy you are enjoying the channel :)
As a WAHM, I could not agree more. Thanks for sharing this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I decluttered and the result is quite soothing.🌷
No better words of wisdom said. You are a beautiful lady an and filled knowledge I resonate towards. I Totally enjoy all your videos everyone’s is so inspiring to me. The day you made the 2 ingredient angel food cake I just had to try. Thanks! For sharing. It has become a favorite dessert from now on. 🥰
I am so happy to hear you enjoy the channel! Ironically, we made that pineapple cake just a few days ago lol! :)
We have moved a lot and purge often but this year, I don't know where to start in this new season.
Thank you! We need to remind ourselves of these important things.
I’m so glad to hear you share this wisdom ❤ we need never be embarrassed for making our home our priority. Have a great week , Lisa☺️
Thank you! You too!
This is so lovely. Makes me grateful for my excellent mother who kept a beautiful home and was always ready for unexpected company. Bless you ❤
Oh my GUD. Why I dodnt sew it before. I lived 13 year in flat there my father died.
I could not relax in this flat.
But now I will move to complettely new flat.
Thank you.❤❤❤
I love this way of thinking. I believe it will open all the other areas of our life.
Yes… I already do this and I’ve always done this…because home to me means sanctuary… and is a peaceful (kinda sometimes) hahahahah serene calming and relaxing place… one of my favorite places to be at actually outside of the park… see I like to ppl watch (observe) and I get my daily fix of this weird pursuit in this way hahahah… I find humans so fascinatingly interesting and highly intriguing… anyways.. many thanks for this lovely video explaining all things home & comfort… it was most welcome and very much appreciated !!
Ciao Bella;)
Home is definitely where the heart is ❤ Thank you for reminding me xx
Ok, I gotta go and clean up my living room now! ❤
Thank you for sharing much Wisdom. 🌷
This is a very important video.
It is truly amazing how the values we cherish flow through generations!
Great video! And that blue is a perfect color for you 😊
Oh thank you!
I always forget you're in western Canada. I'm in Alberta. Yes, I had actually purchased a huge bag of granulated sugar, brown sugar, and icing sugar, & 2 days later there was no sugar to be found.
Great video!♥️🇨🇦
Good thing you got ahead of it :)
I couldn’t agree with you more. ❤
Amen Sister, love that I do love creating a place of peace and beauty, and enjoy Hospitality 👍👍for your content. Thank you for sharing!!
Great advice ❣ I love your hair 💐
Good advice, I totally agree thank you.
Powerful message! Thank you 💐
Glad you liked it!
Love this! Don’t obsess, keep it simple. Home is first base and launching pad for our children…now and future self.
Love this so much. May Jesus bless you
Your makeup is so pretty! Can I request a makeup video? Love your Homemaking videos. So peaceful. May God bless you. ❤️
This was beautiful Lisa! Thanks for all these great thoughts!,
This was such a pleasant and truthful vlog.
Very valuable content in a short period of time. I’m glad I happened upon this video this morning. Thank you. I did subscribe.
I'm so glad you found it helpful and a warm welcome to you :)
Apparently YT knows I am cleaning at the moment your video came in my feed! Great video 👍🏾👏🏾❤️
What a beautiful message. Thank you.❤
Breath of fresh air! Cheers
Madamme, this is such a wonderful message i love to listen to. Praise God for giving you this deep insight about the insurmountable importance of a home.🙏
Sage Advice. Salute you. So much warmth and tenderness and love.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR WISE TEACHING❤❤❤
what a nice family memory :)
Thank you beautiful Lady for a great video. I agree, a clean House makes your soul feel calm, a clutter house brings you down emotionally.
Thank you for this. You are appreciated!
I appreciate you being here as well, Lisa ...have a great evening :)
The perfect inspiration for me today as I am doing my weekly home blessing and zone cleaning.
Wonderful!
Thank you for the encouraging words & great reminder. . God bless you and your family..Sherri-Payette Idaho
Thank you Lisa for the way you present things. I really needed to hear this. Full of encouragement.
I need this right now. In a transition after moving family in my home and I let go of all my old home practices and spent time alone however it’s time to reorganize and create in my home again.
This was such a needed conversation and someone had to say it. Thank you. I past it on to my daughters. Cheryl
Glad it was helpful!
I love your attitude and perspective. You are amazing. Thank you!
Wow, thank you!
Loved this video! You are so well spoken, calm and informative. You're my favorite!
Yay! Thank you!
Excellent video! I definitely need to declutter! Also, Your Cross necklace is beautiful!
PS. I’d also love a video on how you style your lovely hair. I am growing mine out and aspiring to your hairstyle.
Thank you for this video.
I needed to hear this!
I'm so glad the timing was right for you, Susan... I hope you have a wonderful weekend :)
Aww, how lovely...I'm sure you'd be a wonderful friend! thanks for the reminder to check for dust bunnies under the bed lol!
Beautiful thoughts and words and you are just beautiful!!
🤗
