    Here are some decorating ideas for you…
    1. Place either a larger basket with flat bottom or wooden tray with the jar of Epsom salts, a larger candle or several (odd number) of bronze candle sticks and maybe a medium size vase of eucalyptus.
    2. A larger bath mat in the same color and texture that you bought
    3. Keep it painted green, it highlights the white trim work!
    Your ideas are great, just need some tweaks on scale!
    Hope this is helpful!❤️

      I totally concur with you! Lol
      I was thinking a dark wood bowl or even the refillable candle that was purchased during the conference (and has been on the kitchen island). And a larger at the very least longer bath mat. And I like the green, it would be too much white if the bottom portion of the room were painted white too.

    • @RDLASLB
      @RDLASLB ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was thinking along the same lines. The current bathmat is not large enough for the scale of the tub area but the texture/design of it is very nice.
      The green "stripe" actually helps to distinguish the edge of the tub top & the floor. I have occasional depth perception issues (if there aren't distinct visual clues to guide me) and would likely trip over the edge trying to get in because I didn't gauge the height properly because of "too much" white.
      LOVE you decoration ideas about the items for around the tub deck!

    That bathroom is gorgeous! I love the green color. In that corner that you think is too green, you could add a small shelving unit and put rolled towels on the shelf. I also would suggest adding something taller behind the jar for the Epsom salts just to give it some height in that large area! A little pop of color in some artwork behind the toilet would work as well, if you are inclined. Beautiful job!

    I love the jar for Epsom salts idea! Just make sure your jar is an air tight jar because the salt will attract the moisture and I'd hate for you to make a bunch of salt and it go soggy because it soaks up moisture from the air! I love the natural element idea as well! I think the green area that should have been white looks great as green! Over by the window you should get some type of cushion for people to sit on as they are getting dressed/ready for the day!

What you did looks nice and mixed metals are OK. We all know that Josh has a gem in you. I also think Josh is a gem. The bathroom looks great. Here’s an idea for the stuff you want to set on the bathtub ledge. Get a basket and roll up some towels and washcloths and set them there. This will give you that nice natural element you’re looking for. Then take your jar with the Epsom salt and any candles you want to put there and set them either directly on the ledge so they sit flat, or maybe on a placement of some sort if you want to add a dash of color.

  • @startupadmin540

    Hi Becky, I love the green paint color wainscoting below the tub and your relaxing bath scape idea. To bring in a natural element to your room maybe consider a tortoise shell bamboo Roman Shade for your window, inset mounted opposed to mounting it directly to your beautiful new wood casings. The shade can be ordered with an attached valence and with a dual function to pull up from the bottom or lowered from the top to allow for privacy while still being able to look out the upper portion of your window, I think it will be a nice complement to your vanity and your paint color. Try spray misting your shower curtain with fresh water to release the wrinkles, it works great on most fabrics and saves from extra work. 😊

These videos are a LOT of work. We only see a tiny portion of the work you are doing and none of the real messy moments and struggles you take on with repositioning the camera to capture our entertainment and feeling that we are there in the kitchen and elsewhere, following you around as a welcomed friend and guest in your home. Sometimes I feel like taking in a big long breath for you, letting it out slowly, just to relieve some of the exhaustion I feel for you, just watching you work. It’s no surprise that so many “Like and comment” on them. You are truly likable!!

    Hi Becky - you asked for our opinion, so here's mine, for what it's worth! I'd paint the green stripe white as you originally wanted, set your shower curtains to open in the middle (hooks ending either side of the vertical bracket) and keep them open until the shower is in use (I realise it's an American thing to keep the shower curtains closed). I'd either buy a second bath mat or a larger one so that it looks like it fits the floor space better and I'd have some sort of greenery and rolled face cloths/towels at the end of the bath. Loving the colours and the look of the bathroom!

      I was thinking a bigger bath rug, a brown tray for the jar with salts maybe mint or eucalyptus for hint of green with rolled up white wash clothes in the tray and a matching towel on the side, the candle would look pretty in the window because you have it in an antique holder, a small picture of your favorite flower on the wall because the leafs are green color it would tie the colors together So beautiful and relaxing with the natural colors! For the bathroom, I love the green border at the tub. I think it has real impact in a way that white would not. I think you need a longer white rug in front of the tub - more like a runner rug than a small bathmat. The white mat might be nice in front of the sink, if it does not get in the way of the door.
    The windows do need blinds, and I would recommend wooden slat blinds.
    I love the natural element of the raffia mat by the tub, and bath salts would be nice. Perhaps also a small silver or mirrored tray to go under the candles. You could add a lovely soap to the tray as well.

    Shower curtain inside the tub.
    Get a tray for the jars and the candle needs to be a jar to protect your curtains.
    A much bigger mat that coordinates with the little one. Then add the little one in front of the vanity.
    Add some rolled towels, hand towels, washcloths in a basket for the guests.
    I'd keep the green on the tub. White is going to make it harsh and not show off the tub. You could tape white paper over it to test the color difference without repainting or messing up your paint.
    Whew! Such a cute bathroom and you are doing a great job. And thank you for being careful! 💜

    Go with the matte black on the lighting to match your hardware. And I think the green around the tub looks excellent. If you put white, you will have a lot of white (tub, curtains, rug) all white. I think it looks wonderful as is. I love the green in your bathroom! It's going to turn out so cute when you are all done. I agree the shower curtain should stay in the tub. A potted Eucalyptus plant in a pot next to the shower in that corner would be pretty and Eucalyptus in a bathroom is great for stress relief and respiratory health! Next to that you could have a pretty candle a little further down the ledge or maybe a cute little display basket with travel-sized toiletries like hotels have since it is your guest bathroom? That way if anyone forgets to bring something while staying over, you are all ready to go! The bath mat should be a bit longer I think just because of the design of the tub, but I agree the white one you got is a nice look and pattern! You could try checking out Target online as well if you are thinking of returning the one you have, because their website has many more options available than the store did, and if they give you store credit and you found one you like online, you can use it to get it there instead of being limited to what is at your target location. So excited for you your house design plans are starting to come together for you!

Plants do well in the bathroom and with the beautiful window you get some light as well. Yes, the bath mat is a little small. I would measure the floor and determine the correct size. Love the bathroom, Becky. If you want a "natural element" in the bath corner, I would recommend you take an inexpensive wooden tray, stain it to match the vanity, but it with "wood-looking" tiles or mirrored tiles (faux mercury glass would be pretty too) to reflect light. This would carry the wood element from the beautiful vanity AND be safe to put bath salts and several candles on the tray because porcelain or mirrored tiles are not flammable. Anyway...just a thought.

I like others' suggestion of wooden blinds/shades for that window, but I would only have it cover from the white horizontal line on the lower window (like a quarter of the way down) to the bottom. That would allow more natural light to come in. A person would have to try really hard to see someone in the bathroom from the upper section. I love the bathroom. The green is really nice. I would suggest a bamboo bathmat to keep the natural look. The white one is very... white. Also the decorative corner.. use 3 items on the placemat to make it look finished. Maybe a little plant or a tealight candle.

    I'd do a grouping of larger candles (white), different heights, beside the glass container and natural mat, get rid of the little candle. Larger white mat for the floor. I agree, too much green on that wall. What a pretty bathroom.

    Love all the green. Bigger bath mat needed in that space plus I would fill up the area by the window with some house plants!!!! Maybe get some aquarium sealant and run a bead around your Epsom salt jar and that will help to keep the moisture out. It's silicone so you would kind of be making your own sealed jar... well not sealed so you can't get into it but keeping the moisture out. And maybe some kind of wooden blind or shutters that would match the wood color of that beautiful sink vanity.

    I really like the green under the tub; it breaks up all the white in the bathroom. The deco idea is great; I love the idea of the bath salts in the jar. The bath mat looks great with that green strip behind it, but seems a little small. It's a beautiful mat. IMHO. Thanks for the video.

    Hi Becky, love the bathroom! Yes, curtain stays inside the tub, however, not necessary to keep the shower curtain completely closed. You have a nice looking tub so I would slide it open to one side or other. Jar candles are safer for the bath and yes to the neutral tones! Good job😊.

    I like the shower curtain but I agree with you that tucked in looks better than untucked. The bathmat looks a little bit small.i like all the green paint. Mat black light fixtures will tie in the handles of the door.

    The bathroom looks wonderful! And I was concerned when I saw you standing on the edge of the tub where it is narrow. Calking job looks great!!! I like the idea of bath salts in the glass jar. Maybe color them. Candles look nice too. What about a trio of candles, different heights. The bath mat looks a little small next to the tub and curtain. What about a bigger one or maybe that one on top of a larger rug. Your home is beautiful, Becky, just like you and Josh! Thank you for sharing!!!!

  • @aprilreid946

    For the bathroom you need a long basket with towels in it your candles on the side with you large jar of Epson salt. You also need to get a longer white rug by the tub and place the smaller tub under the sink. So two rugs!!

    Shower curtain in.. for looks and because otherwise the water falls to the floor. But I also have always hated shower curtains because they stick to you and make me claustrophobic.. I think a frameless glass wall that goes halfway down the length of the tub would look fantastic! And definatly like the green!

    I like your idea & would paint the bottom portion of the tub wall, etc. white so that if the curtain is hanging outside of the tub, the white on white wouldn’t look bad at all. And it does break up that green! Yes-no standing on the tub lip mama!!

    Here's my ideas for the bath. I'm not a designer mind you. Jar is awesome maybe one with bath fizzy balls and one with your Epsom salts and a cute metal scoop. Get/make some tie backs for the curtain so you can pull it back when no one is there. Get a candle that is in a similar jar as the bath salts and fizzy balls so there is a cohesive 3 jars. Maybe a bigger bath mat of the same style.

    You are so fun to watch. You're ideas are lovely.
    When you asked "what do y'all think?"...about the bathroom...
    I would say that it probably is good to have the little candle and candlestick on a separate plate as opposed to one the wicker placemat. The reason for that is, if you were to light the candle, it would probably drip down onto your wicker mat.
    What I think would be better is to either put a candle somewhere in the bathroom so that when lit it is not near your shower curtain or have a different style candle holder and candle that is kind of enclosed or has a large glass vase style so that the flame is in no way going to come in contact with the shower curtain.. 💗💗💗

    • @dappledaylight2628
      @dappledaylight2628 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would also get a larger rectangular bath mat in white and keep neatly folded white towels folded by the Epsom salts instead of a candle for that spot. Maybe keep the candle on the counter use a white pillar candle with a glass vase that has straight sides. That will tie in with the look of your anchor hocking glass container for your Epsom's salts

    • @dappledaylight2628
      @dappledaylight2628 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would also do the bathroom walls in all white because you have gorgeous trim work in there and it will make it pop. I would invest in some gorgeous Crome Hardware including lighting or maybe the lighting could be dark like your door handle . I might even use maybe some white marble accents pieces like a plate to hold something or a marble tissue box cover or marble or glass soap/lotion dispensers then I would use white Roman shades on the windows or plantation shutters. It will look like a spa in there

    @Jacline685 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'd fill the glass jar with soaps in the same/similar color as the bee's wax candle, to tie it all in :-) Also I think the mat is nice, but needs to be much bigger to match the tub better. Someone suggested wooden/natural blinds and I agree, that would look so nice! Maybe also have some natural material on the light fixtures you want to change?

  • @gabriellemcgahey24
    @gabriellemcgahey24 ปีที่แล้ว

    the rug doesn't seem wide enough for the bathtub, but it does fit the space well, maybe it could be put in front of the sink? and for the natural element, I would say getting the blinds first that way you have the base elements to match against rather than getting something then having to match the blinds to it

    Love your channel! I like the bath in green although I am usually an all-white fan. I'd keep the small bath mat and drape it over the side of the tub when not in use. The fringes hanging down over the green will be pretty and the mat won't catch the daily foot traffic dirt. Your preference for some natural-looking items in there is really nice.

    I love the green, keep it, great idea for the glass jar and epson salt, don’t put candle on mat, let it be separate, maybe a dish with a few small loofahs or scrub brush for salt, and the bath mat is nice and simple and goes with the decor. You need anther charger just like that, it’s perfect!

    With such a large jar in the bathroom, perhaps the homemade bath salts could be in individual tuille bags that could be refilled easily instead of having a spoon that could get wet? Fizzy bath bombs are another very easy thing that could be made in different natural colors and displayed in the lovely glass jar. Speaking from experience, if you would like a natural element as part of a display on the side of the tub, it does need to be something that will dry quickly and not potentially harbor mildew. Of course, I don't know how humid your area is, as I'm in Georgia and we are constantly having to think about mildew because of the humid environment. 😄

  • @morganprudent1422
    @morganprudent1422 ปีที่แล้ว

    Black lighting in the bathroom, curtain inside the tub, keep the green paint on the tub if you have a white rug (otherwise, if you paint it white then a white rug might be too much white). Lastly, I think if you use a wood serving tray for the accent corner it would be sturdier than a woven material but still give you the natural accent.

    I love the direction your going with the bathroom. I would suggest you get a runner mat rather than a bath math. With everything connected I think it would look better to have a longer rug. I think you need a plant in the corner with the bath salts. Make sure your jar is airtight other wise you will have a salt block.

    I was just waiting for some eggs to fall out of the crate when she was putting it back them back into the fridge. As for the bathroom, maybe use little votive candles instead of the candle stick. As for that little corner where you think it looked too green, a nice tall basket with white flower stems would look nice or a nice tall plant (silk or ones that look real but are not real...hobby lobby has nice flowers like that).

    Love the mat and the jar on the side! Have you seen those slices of wood that are A sagittal cut . Kind of a thin slab of a tree trunk ? That would give you the natural look without being as much of a fire risk . The curtains are a little awkward for that tub. You don't it really need it to completely surround the tub. I think maybe allowing the curtains to part in the "Middle" where that suspension bar is would allow you to pull one curtain to the right and one curtain to the left may be the way to go.

I had never heard of baked oatmeal before watching your videos ( it's not really a thing here in Australia) but since making it my husband is addicted and has some every morning. Hi Becky, when I saw you on the tub I was like OMGosh! then you said it and made me laugh. I like your idea of the natural something in the bath, what about a wooden tray? with your jar and candle on the tray and then some pot plants for greenery next to the tray as another natural element? Some ferns would like the moisture in there. You could break up the bottom of the tub green with a foliage stencil or an accent tile for interest? You could also get a nice round natural Jute mat (kind of looks your placemat only bigger) for the centre of the room and then use that bath mat when you hop out of the shower and then place it over the side of the bath. Love what you're doing thanks so much for making this content. Sonya x PS: you two are so cute together, you are going to make wonderful parents to your little one ❤

    Becky, I absolutely love watching your videos. As far as the bathroom goes the dark green is beautiful because it is a color. But you have way too much white and neutrals. The shower curtain should have just a little bit of a pop of some type of dark green. Maybe a couple of accessories that are colorful. I'm not a particular fan of the white sterile looking bathroom, kitchen, etc.. I'm actually going to try your oatmeal recipe from breakfast. It looks absolutely delicious. I hope it'll turn out good using the monk fruit sweetener. I use that for just about everything that needs sweetened. God bless you your family and your baby to be.

    The wrinkles will fall out. The bathroom is large so you need a bigger floor mat. Two small succulent plants on either side of jar of epsom salt will look nice. Securing a bees wax candle in mason jar will be great. Chrome is best. I love watching you!!
