So many stickers! It looks nice though.
Hi Steve. The decals seemed to be a bit thicker than the ones I've done before with the older Tamiya kits, and some wouldn't stick properly. Not quite as thick as the MCI Racing decals I got for my Mad Bull, but thicker than my Grasshopper's. But it looks great from a distance so not all bad😀 Have a good weekend 🙂👍🏼
I think this shell is fantastic Derek. I even love the colour. Proper top stuff. And good point about the red lights
Hi Tibs. Thank you very much my friend. It does seen a bit tight for Tamiya not to include another set of red led's, but for a company that still doesn't include metal bearings in the majority of their kits it's not really surprising 👎🏼🤨
Hi there Derek, hope you are doing OK. You did a fantastic job (as usual) on this build and a super job compiling the video and the excellent narration, very clear and concise! Agree totally about your points regarding the wheel arch and stickers under the front window. Paint would look so much better, but as you said, the overall look of the finished truck is stunning. I'd like to have a go at one of these some day! All the best to you my good friend!
Thank you very much Mark.
thank you very much for showing how you built it with your perfection. great job 👍👍
Hi Eric. Thank you very much my good friend 🙂👍🏼👍🏼
That bronco from Tamiya is awesome ❤️🔥
Thank you for watching 🙂👍🏼
Nice kit, always appreciate your attention to the details, your right the wheel arches should be painted. I usually buy black matte acrylic paint with a very fine soft brush, it makes them look like rubber. It will be interesting to see which position of the servo you like best. Look forward to the run🙏✝️☮️
Thanks for the tip about the acrylic paint Lou. I may try that.
Very good job, this Bronco is really beautiful, really nice body 👌
Thank you very much Pascal 🙂👍🏼

Very nice bronco

Thank you very much Carlos 🙂👍🏼
Hiya Derek. Really good vid and some helpful top tips. I guess the disadvantage of getting a pre painted shell is that you can't choose to paint certain bits in a different colour like the wheel arches unless you paint it on the outside. Like you say though the end result looks fantastic. I was having a little titter about the stock ESC and motor being too fast for you. I thought it looked rather fun 🤣 Top work mate, I know it takes time to get this sort of video together and you've done it really well. Best wishes 😁
Hi Pete. Thank you for your kind words. If I can't keep up with an RC these days I class it as too fast. I have devised a bungee system with off road roller skates to attach myself to my Arrma's so they shouldn't be a problem 😂😂😂
nice looking rc and great build
Hi Duke. Thank you very much.
I have the same issue with decals on Tamiya's, as hard as you try you never get them to look like the picture on the box. Another thing I wished is they ditched the light decals and give us proper plastic units to screw on as they look so much better. I'm not a fan of pre-painted bodies but it does save money because 3/4 cans of paint are required that adds up on the build cost. A good choice with the Surpass, the combo I brought I was pleased with it. Interesting the option with the 2 ways of mounting a servo, that's a first for me. But you are right it does look brilliant all finished, but I like the short wheelbase over the long version as it never looks right to me.
Hi Mal. I've never liked doing decals and found these particularly frustrating. Tamiya decals are usually good once they're on but some of these wouldn't stick properly. They also seemed to be a bit thicker than the ones I've done before with the older kits. Not quite as thick as the MCI Racing decals I got for my Mad Bull, but thicker than my Grasshopper's for instance. The Surpass Combo is a cheap but good Combo and basically the same as the Reedy systems that come in the Element Enduro RTR's.
@@hollyhillrc Funny thing I thought they looked a little thicker then the norm. Thicker decals will always be a pain.
Great video, very detailed and precise, agree about some of the decals
Hi Julian. Thank you very much. Decals have never been my favourite part of a build, but everything looks good from a distance so not all bad !
Very nice 👌
Hi Rich. Thank you very much 🙂👍🏼
Good job jobbed mate 👍😎🏁
Thank you very much 🙂👍🏼
Yeah those decals are always a hassle for me. Couldn't agree more on the Wheel Well Arches. Y'know? Body pins don't bother me too much. I get it though It DOES look much more scale without them. ;) Oh and I am not sure what you were going to say there about the Windscreen decals? We kinda lost you there. @ 2:02 🤣🤣 and I agree with you on the roof Rack I think it adds to that scale look you're going for. Oh and The lights like the way they should. ;) I had to go and check out this motor combo you are using. That IS a good price. I have taken chances on cheaper versions of kit and you can find some good ones out there. Although Surpass seems to be getting more attention... great video Derek. And an awesome build bud. I like the Bronco. :)
Hi Nick. Thank you for watching. The Surpass combo is very similar to the Reedy motor and ESC in the Element RTR's.
I have also tryed Guru RC. Not bad brushless systems.. ;)@@hollyhillrc
Great build Derek. Shame on the decals. Paintings the better option. Why is the servo to mount in different positions? I don't see a reason for it.
Hi Dirk. Thank you for watching. I'm sorry, I don't know why there's an option for the servo position.
@@hollyhillrc maybe your driving will show
@@RCBirds I haven't been able to run the Bronco yet, and my Unimog has a 3kg servo and the Bronco has a 15kg servo, so it may not be a fair comparison. But even with this difference in torque it will be interesting to see if one position is better than the other when I do.
Looks great and I gotta agree - those decals used for the wheel arches are pretty poor. Can't understand why Tamiya did this.
Hello my friend. Thank you very much. Some people have left the arches blue on their pre painted bodies and I now I understand why. I prefer them black but I didn't realise how bad the decals were going to look, and didn't have any paint at the time to rectify this.
