    Love your video content, and the Tamiya you built. You inspired me to purchase this model. Although to be honest I was a bit skeptical, but after the way you built it, painted it, and the wheels/tires you installed on the blue beauty, man! I want one now. btw your videos are always crisp and clear and every aspect my friend. Kudos to you.

    Great and interesting building video Fil. The car looks great. And yeah, Tamiya and LEDs're not the best friends. I had to order whites for the reverse lights. In the MFU-kit they're red. Colouts of thevwores didn't match wich the ones in the manual and so on.

Steering servo, the kit came with two electrical components. Guessing it the computer and idk. I just got it yesterday and I think im about done. Just need to build and paint body parts and what have you. Hit to get it ready. What do I need to get this ready to go?? Now I guess I could go into a hobby shot but I don’t feel like leaving and driving all the way the to Houston. But damn outstanding body. I was gonna go for silver and black cuz that is my truck scheme. No chrome my rims are black dish and silver spoke. So I’m gonna try to paint my yoda match scheme. I built the CC02 Mercedes SUV. I enjoyed the build. I was very disappointed that Tamiya only had metal parts for the chassis in the front and in the rear. Why not a full metal chassis? I still have not seen an after market metal chassis. Not sure why? I also got lots of metal parts from GPM and Tamiya for my truck. The original tires for this kit are rock hard. I got Tamiya tires that were much softer and way better. I also installed a Holmes Hobbies 550 brushed motor to try to get some more torque. That motor is a tight fit, but it does fit. Thoughts?

    • @poorboysrc
      @poorboysrc  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The plastic/steel chassis is an interesting one. Tamiya certainly marches to the beat of their own drum. At the end of the day, the CC02 chassis works, it's just unusual. The stock tires are good for drifting, lol! So upgraded rubber is a must. Overall, it's a really fun little chassis, just not quite up to SCX10 stature yet.

      @@alfredyost7972 no, I'd say it's a good thing. They piss me off to no end with their friction shocks, plastic bushings and non die-cut decals. But who else is still making character cars? Nobody! There's something special about Tamiya still producing cars like the Squash Van, and re-releasing Manta Ray's and Boomerangs. Tie that in to a little nostalgia, and you've got a recipe for good sales. As kids, many of us couldn't afford these kits, or hopping them up. It's part of the build experience, in my opinion. Going from friction shocks to CVA's, upgrading a motor, etc... Hey, I'm a Tamiya guy for life, but it doesn't mean I won't bark a little when they tick me off. Haha. 😆👊🏼

    Bro. No joke. It’s is fiddly. I messed up few times. Really the entire build is easy. But hard. Especially for my first model and rc car I assembled. It was a learning curve. I have few things I need to redo. Like the mount hole for front shocks. The instructions says one hole but the shocks aren’t perpendicular to the ground. And I have the 4 link bars backwards. And it takes time to drive the screws in and out by hand. There is no great Philips screw driver that’s fits perfectly to use a small power tool. But I found one close enough. The chassis took me about two days 6 hours a day. The body. … bro….., I’m scared. I don’t want to messed it up. But I know painting it would be very meticulous. I’m still studying the best way to tape it up and trim and all that good stuff. But man it sure is super fun. Especially at my 39 year old ass. Welder and car nut. I had RTR nitros before. But assembling these model RC is way to F-ing cool man
