SOLO OVERLANDING SOUTHERN IDAHO IN MY BRONCO BADLANDS
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 23 ส.ค. 2023
- After 12 years of waiting and dreaming of the opportunity, I finally head to southern Idaho to explore the mountains in the area. I packed up the Bronco Badlands, and set off on the 500 mile journey just to the trailhead. This trip would take me and the Bronco nearly 10,000 feet of elevation and saw some of the most spectacular views I have seen and wildlife I hadn't seen in the wild either.

This video is a visual feast for anyone who craves the serenity of overlanding and the thrill of offroading.
Incredible compliment, thank you!
This video shows exactly why we need to disconnect from the concrete jungle.
It is beautiful to know that you're so far away from everything with this outstanding view..
You're truly living some of us's dreams
I’m late to the party, but I admire your ability to get off road alone and disconnect from everyday life. Truly, videos like this give me the courage to start traveling more even if it’s just me and setting up camp.
I respect and admire your comments and stance about protecting the environment that we so cherish. Keep on Gate-keepin'! Keep up the great vids.
Idaho is such an underrated state, the mountains are breathtaking
Born & raised Idahoan native here. If you think that route was stunning I could tell you about one through Adams County that would have your jaw dropped open the whole time. I feel so blessed to live here. We have yet to run out of roads to explore.
Well done on the journey you’ve shared with us!
Wow thank you so much! Always good to hear from a native of the area. I definitely want to go back to Idaho. I can totally see never running out of roads there. Seems endless
Thank you for the inspiration to take the family out for an adventure in the wilds of southern Idaho!
👍 for preserving camping spots from people that trash our reputation as outdoors people. My pet peev is pay for location data but I now understand why (by donating to the firefighters) . Really impressed with your thoughtfulness mate 🇦🇺
Thanks man I really appreciate that. I know a lot of people were not happy about that, but I felt it was the right thing to do
Dude, you are living the dream! I'm hooked on your content..the music, the vibe..the aesthetics..you're killing it! Thanks for sharing your journey with us!
Thanks so much! Quite the compliment!
As a Canadian who adventures all around Idaho, and after one short excursion and some hiking Summer 2022, I absolutely must return to this area. WoW. Thanks for this.
Great video, Idaho looks amazing I definitely need to check it out someday. Thanks for sharing your adventures 🤙🏼🏕️
my new fav channel, thank you!
Awesome trip… Thanks for sharing
Hi from England, sorry I'm late to your channel. Making up for lost time, watch ing and catching up. Just beautiful country, wildlife. Keep exploring for us, on the other side of the world.
Another great excursion. Keep up the good work!
Great video, thanks! What a beautiful part of the country. You do a great job mixing narrative and video/music to show the grandeur of the area. I'm curious to see more of the way you pack and store all your gear.
Sitting by the riverside, what a delightful experience! The beauty of nature is so soothing to behold; I hope nothing disrupts it. Preserving the environment is everyone's responsibility.💪💪💪💪💪
I really enjoyed this one. I share your passion for remote, sparsely populated areas. Keep em coming....
Superb video! Thanks!
Amazing! What an experience for you and for us at home. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks so much! It was pretty incredible!
Thanks again for showing us this wonderful place. Great video as always. 🙌🏽
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it!
Haha reminds me of a video from @jonconti “The mountains are calling….no they are not, they are just fine”😅😅😅
Beautiful filmography. The audio is crisp and clean with the soundtrack really complimenting the drone shots. Really enjoyed watching on my new HUGE tv.
I was especially looking forward to this video. Great job! Its so amazing how much land is available to explore. When im in the mountains im reminded how small i am, when i watch your videos i get a hint of that same feeling. Awesome video
I’m so glad you liked it and that I didn’t disappoint. I get the same feeling and that’s something I try to convey through the video. That is so awesome to hear that feedback! Thanks so much for sharing
Great video man! Epic drone shots as usual. Idaho is definitely at the top of my list of places to explore
Thank you so much! I I’m glad I have been able to experience it finally, but man I want to go back so bad!
Respect for putting up the pay wall. As an Idahoan I will be paying just to see the F-15's. Great video!
Excited to see your Idaho adventure.
Gonna be a good one!!
Loved this mate. Those peaceful moments really put you there and some epic shots with the drone. Inspiring.
Thanks man, I’m so glad you enjoyed this video!
Love seeing people enjoy my state! Well done video. I know exactly where these spots are. Epic for sure.
You are lucky to have such incredible and accessible land like this! What an incredible area
The time put into these videos is much appreciated. Well done!
Thanks Jordan! I love doing this!
I feel blessed having been raised in southeastern Idaho. I think Idaho has some of the best scenery in the country. Living in PA now I try to get back to Idaho as much as I can to visit family and just explore all over again. Thanks for the vid. It definitely brings back memories. If you want more epic views and exploration, head up into the Sawtooth mountains. You won't regret it.
Watched this one on the big screen! Didn’t disappoint, great video my brother!
Awesome man! So glad you liked
Excellent idea of putting the proceeds towards the forest service, well done.
Very cool thanks for sharing
❤ very nice trip ❤
❤❤❤ the ride..getting my OllllllO ( aka jeep ) repaired for a great Idaho run next year. I feel your story great video.
This is oxygen... thank you!
What a compliment! Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed it!
It just feels so enjoyable watching your video
Thank you!
First I just found your channel!!! Love you take your pups out man. I have a Boston and never seen him watch tv until I played your channel! Hope all is well for your pup. Now the reason I found you is I’m getting into overlanding/ glamping 😅. I have a Tundra with an Icon lift and rims and was eyeballing Mammoth. Well times are rough and may have to settle for a truck bed set up and this fridge would be perfect! Perfect size and efficiency bud🤙 I would love to try it out but budget is keeping me settling with conventional coolers. It’s a long shot but I would be blessed to obtain one. Keep the vids coming. Can’t wait to see more adventures you will share….bring your pups!🤙
Every video, you just kill it. Thanks for the entertainment.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you like my stuff!
What a great video and scenery what a great trip you

Ha ha! You said 'good morning' to the cow ... I do that all the time! Hee hee ... And "Gate Keep", we all do it for the exact reason you speak of
Beautiful scenery and great video!

I worked on the 15 for 20 yrs....I can never unhear its engine roar lol...
Great memories
Wasn’t too far from there actually!
You did an amazing job making this video. Camera work from all sources was spot on. And your editing job is very professional. Loved this type of content. Thanks. Subscribed...
Thanks so much, I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Those fighter jets are F-15E Strike Eagles stationed out of mountain home 🦅 💪
Beautiful video ! Keep up the good work.
Thanks!
What a cool trip. I can’t wait to explore more of ID. I’m in E-OR and have been exploring here for several years. Cheers!
Dude you’re so close!! You gotta get over there! Thanks man, cheers!

Thank you! Will do!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful video. Looks like a neat area to visit. 😎👍
Of course! It was an incredible trip. I absolutely loved it and ready to go back already
My new favorite channel. We just did the San Juan Mountains in Colorado and it was beautiful. Your adventure in Idaho looks amazing and so relaxing. Come visit in Arizona.
Thank you so much! Arizona is definitely on my list! Going to be a winter trip for sure though
Lookin like a movie 🎥💥 love it
Amazing b-roll & editing. 👍🏾
Amazing ! I'm impressed and inspired. You're living my dreams! I'm re-thinking every priority in my life!

Thanks!
Wow thanks so much man!! This is the first super thanks I’ve ever received!
thank you I like watching stuff like this all the time
Please share location
Quality content! 40 minutes flew by.
Thanks so much! I was nervous about the length but glad it was good!
Great video. Just found your channel, liking the content. Subbed.
Beautiful video. I lived in southern Idaho once and would love to go back for a visit. I can only imagine bike packing in some of the areas you explored. If you drove up so far and had a gravel or mountain bike, you could go further albeit slower but not have to worry about running out of fuel. Plus, you can get through narrow trails your Bronco could not and without leaving as much of an impact.
really really nice. Bravo.
I really like your videos. The way you get out and explore and mix in some gear talk as well. You doing a good job. By the way, your Son looks exactly like my nephew did when he was that young. 😊
Yup! Another epic adventure and video. You never disappoint. At this time, I think you are the only content creator that I will click on a video over about 15 or 20 minutes. I just get lost in your cinematography and narrating. And as much as I love your Bronco, it's not about the Bronco. It's about your adventure
I really appreciate that Man! I work hard on each video and am always trying to get better. So hopefully I’ll just keep making better and better stuff for you all!
Stumbled across some of your video's and im glad i did, we are in the same area man! If you ever want someone to go with im definitely down.
Great video
enjoy the video scene by scene, thanks for sharing the video. greeting from indonesia
🤙nice video
My friend Charlie is a native of Idaho, this place is not a secret, pretty busy when hunting season comes in, beautiful country but can get really windy, and I have been coming out to Idaho for 40 years and gone on many ventures with my friend
Terra Firma, the more Firma, the less Terra :-) Thanks for sharing your adventure.
What a great trip!! Jealous!!! That gas station coffee can really be good…. Sometimes! 🤣🤣👏🏻👏🏻 great edit, and great … everything! 👊🏼😃
It can be good when it’s not burnt it turns out lol! Thanks man!
I know I said this recently, but your cinematography gets better each vid. Well done. Great film of some solid exploration.
Thank you so much! It was an awesome trip with scenery that made my job easy!
Awesome video. Def a goal to outfit my bronco with a rooftop tent like that.
Thank you! Do it when you can for sure! Opens a whole new world
What is the mesh ceiling storage bag you use? Been searching for one and that looks exactly like what I’m looking for!
I liked, and unliked the video probably 10 times making sure I gave this video a thumbs up. Holy Schmoly you captured a true gem on this trip! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much Matt! I really appreciate that. This was a great trip and I really want to get back out there
You are in a MOA, a Military Operation Area. These areas can be anywhere, usually around large tracks of state or federal preserve. You have Hill Air Force base and Mountain Home Air Force base nearby. These m o a's are actually sometimes over cities. The operating altitude is just much higher, many times you cannot notice them. In another life, I would control CAS in areas such as this. Great video, Mahalo for sharing.
Yup, That's epic alright. You do a great job blending the music into the video. Take care.
Thanks so much! I think I’ve said this before but the music is the hardest part for me
Is there a playlist for the music in this video? The soundtrack for “ the playground”, the fording of the streams, abandoned cabin on the road side and the approach to the shelf road was quite nice. TIA.
Vraiment 👌 la vidéo et tout le reste vraiment top très bonne continuation Hope you will very glad que tu as réalisé ton envie de 12 années stay safe for the next one thanks for respecting our home land 🙇🏾♂️ and reminding for respecting that
Alex Boulanger
Alex, thanks so much man! I am glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful views thanks for sharing it. What area, valley and creek, we’re you at in the closing shots?
you totally remind me of tim tebow lol. Love the content bro. I'm planning a trip out to the badlands in the spring of 2024 with my best friend! keep up the good work!
Haha that’s actually not the first time I’ve heard that. But that’s sounds awesome man! Great times
Beautiful camera work in a amazing location.
Thanks! It’d be hard to capture bad footage with this scenery honestly
you are the first person i've seen to cook peas. i love peas. i also like to mix my peas with all sorts of foods. excellent video
Haha I love peas man!! I put them in a lot of stuff
Great vid. Wish I could have joined on you on this trip. Next time man.
Well get a trip in one of these days. Thanks man!
Love this!! Stunning views and I appreciate the educational, constructive commentary. 2 pieces of feedback if you're interested. I find the more upbeat energetic music to be at odds with the vibe and beauty of the footage. I prefer your more mellow relaxing musical choices for what that's worth. Additionally, there are a couple shots where you're speaking to the camera discussing things in the background of the footage. Your lenses are excellent and fast with a narrow depth of field so when you are in focus the viewer cannot really discern any details of what's behind you. If you could try to remember to make a conscious refocus to the background so we can appreciate the view as well, and understand some of what you're describing that would be awesome. Thank you for bringing us along on these journeys.
Hi. Thank you for good video. What is the navigation map do you use?
Don’t forget the amount of condensation that propane gives when you try winter camping in that annex. It’s terrible for winter camping, gnna get everything wet essential. . Diesel heater is the way to go .
Did you have a video of the build? Your Bronco looks like it does well off-road.
Great vid! That rod to tent is pretty heavy at 175 lbs. Do you notice the weight while driving?
What exhaust are you running? I’m sure you’ve answered this before but I couldn’t track a comment or video abt it.
Nice build! In the process of building my 2020 Tacoma for some over landing but great video. 🤙🏼
Thank you! The Tacoma is an excellent platform with endless choices. You’ll be stoked on it!
What roof rack are you using? Do you like it? Would you buy it again?
But back to your video, its amazing I would go there in a heart beat. Keep it real and explore.
Start showing off your patches and new ones you acquire on your trips
Speaking of patches… I have new patches 😎 they’ll be on the website soon!
Great video! I know of the area your in and have been wanting to explore it and your video will push me to head out that way. If your ever in idaho again and want an exploring buddy, hit me up!
Dude definitely check the area out! It’s so awesome! There’s an easy way to enter the area, but going over the pass and dropping in to the valley is for sure the way to go!
What kind of exhaust do you have on your bronco?
Well done! Idaho is my stomping ground - there is no place like it. I noticed you’ve got a handy cargo net riding above your head in the Bronco. Can you direct me where to get one?
I love watching your adventures! How many miles are you up to on that beast?
I’m glad you enjoy it!! So I’ve had it for about 10 months now and I have 17.5k miles on it
You my friend are very talented - A fellow photographer
Thank you for that. I really appreciate it!
Thank you for the great content. Where can I find the GPX file? I cannot find your website and I cannot find it on your patreon page.
Here you go!

Should be in the description I thought. Gonna have to change that if it’s not. Sorry about that
You brought up a good point. I believe that you should stay on the trail but if trails are overgrown from disuse are you helping or hurting things by letting them disappear completely?
That’s a solid question. From my work with tread lightly, I know they go out to clear trails that are starting to be overgrown. The USFS does as well but has little man power to do so. If I can clearly see it’s a trail that isn’t too far gone (very subjective) I’ll still run it. I more so mean going out in to areas that are clearly not part of a trail
Another great video! Do you carry bear spray with you? I’m here in Florida and I always have some protection on me when I’m camping.
Thank you! Yeah I definitely do and other protection. You never know out there
