I'm continuing to fiddle with the layout of the LEGO City, and in this video I extend the existing raised platform, re-plan the entire layout and start moving new road and rail layouts around!

Rather than mess about with legs to support dipping board. Just screw in a couple of flat support plates under the new large table top to support the table top that is dipping. The legs on the new table top are near the edge so provide sufficient support for both.
great idea.
Was going to suggest exactly that. Means the train tracks can be left on the previous side of the road which means the bricklink train station can still connect at beach end and will leave more space for modulars at other end 👍
Kev you need to get into Mocs. It's calling you, we see your reaction to anything that requires your own thought like train tracks, layout and mils plate customisation. I'd start off by buying a few of the premade small sets that bloke in your last brickfest vid (the decent one, not the shitty one) was selling and build your own buildings round them.
I was looking for the giraffe and I wasn't disappointed! 🦒(it really pulls the room together)
I'm running out of space for him...
If the back part is fastened to the wall then you can pull the table out a bit more if you need more room. If you remove the white shelf the you’ll have room for another row of plates.
Looking forward to watching this ❤
100% agree moving the beach / theme park is the right decision.. your layout is looking more and more like mine.. also roughly at the same stage of build lol..
you could use the bit by the shelves as a rock face leading to the lighthouse in the corner with the beach on the lower level so the light house looks like its on the rocks, loving the channel so far!
Screw metal strap underneath where both mdf boards meat, then you can get rid of the legs.
Screw fix sells them ,wall strap I think there called.
Keep up the cool work 🤘🏻
Great work! Definitely on the right track now
"right track now" 😉👍
If you swap the train track around to the modular side means you cannot add the new Bricklink station...
Am really enjoying watching your build come together. Would love to see you do some reviews of new sets. Or a speed build then review.
We've done a few reviews on here, and a few others on TikTok. They tend not to get as many views as Lego city updates or shopping vlogs. But they'll definitely be a part of the channel.
Looking good! Nice one mate!
Thank you! Cheers!
The small gap where the beach was would make an excellent sidings area for any trains not currently in use...
Never mind, the area was used for similar the second after I posted this
Anytime you want two pieces to not move laterally, put masking tape on each piece with superglue between where the masking tape lines up. So much lateral stability you can use power tools on it but easy to peel apart if needed.
(Ben Crowe of Crimson Guitars “masking tape and superglue trick”)
love these videos
This is the real deal here in Transilvania
Rex helmet and Cody at 34$, AT-AT-UCS215$, Ashoka b.pack 9$, Luke Speed UCS-100$, Mario ?bloc 75$, and more, is only for 10 hours and very quick stock off.
Could you have a marvel cityscape on a shelf as its own diorama and the use the space this buys to have more space for traditional city/modular based stuff (which will be rotated over time) then further shelves in future could be for other dedicated dioramas and mini themes.
Just my little idea
I've toyed with the idea of having the Marvel stuff in my office, but with the X-Men mansion coming, I don't think there'll be room. I quite like them in the city.
Yeah it's definitely a suggestion that I knew would take something away as well as give something as the buildings are very cool indeed. I kind of considered your comment about the love for collecting all the modular. I've also seen some other channels discuss and show these cool mini city scapes. I actually was thinking they could go on mid height floating shelves in the city room but size and scale is hard via the lens of a camera
Would be cool to create a small Island and place the lighthouse there!
It kind of already is an island, so it might just end up in the sea
I think it would look really good if u used the Disney train or Harry Potter train ❤
I’d love the Disney one but it’s very expensive. Not really into Harry Potter.
Love it kevin. I've got lots of sets in need to build . Just got to find space
Space is always a problem!
Better idea to move the beach area, it was getting too crowded and on new table you’ll have more room for funfair, also the Avengers tower would certainly look better elsewhere. Where the train finishes at the new end, you should put a false tunnel against the wall for illusion. Sorry to say but you may regret not moving that bookcase 🤗🏴
It can always be moved at a later date - it's not like we can fit another table in the space it's in!
Is that the tape you vowed you'd never need
No, i went to B&M this afternoon and bought a new roll. I refuse to use the one I don’t need.
What about having the road and train track going right up to the wall and paint/print/buy some graphics that look like tunnels so that it would look like the road and track are coming out of a tunnel into the city ?
Where you have that slight step where the train goes from straight to curve (new bit) you could always use a nail emery board (sand paper stick) to sand down that step to make it a more gradual gradient.
What’s the red/black car infront of the avengers tower and daily bugle?
The layout looks much better with the new plan. Happy accident. On the raised platform I think you need a few more building that differ in height. Different styles too. I know you might be a long way away from completing the top but worth considering.
Have you considered adding like a nature park with custom trees and hills all that I think that’ll look good
So the raised area could be classed as a pier?
I think you might need a bigger room mate. 😂
I cant wait to Kev needs to buy a new house because the bricks have taken over his current one.
I would remove the road plates on the top level. You can then have a wide promanade/ park area to put stories etc
😊 everyone talking technical me wondering why the jazz club and museum was moved 😂 definitely like where the beach is going to be
None of the buildings are in a permanent spot yet, they're just kind of placed in a gap when they're done. Once I've got the layout finalised and all the roads and rails in, then I'll give modular placement some proper thought!
Defo move the marvel to the beach area. Perhaps have it on higher level so it looks over the city. Have you thought about having the friend bed and breakfast in the sideside area?
I've been tempted, but I've got so much backlog at the moment I need to just get sets built and into the city and see what (if any) space is left afterwards!
What happens under the raised section without trains running under there now? Dead space?
Minecraft stuff is the plan.
Loving the videos . But unfortunately, You need to move the giraffe to another room. Seems like ur running out of space quick and he isn’t helping.
He’ll get replaced with a Lego version soon
How do you reach the back corner for the construction site?
With great difficulty.
I have a large city myself and find it hard to get to some places
do u need a helping because i’ll come and help you with anything
