The trouble with that argument is, taking away the punching girls in the face element, the girls are pretty much written the same as any other anime where they're treated as weaker, more emotionally frail, and when they're not being "taken down a peg" by the leads fist, they're having to be rescued. Is there a moment where one the girls beats a guy in the series solo, OR saves this guy in a fight fully? And as for Kazuma; I think the girls would have to be written like they weren't standard harem fodder for that to apply. At the end of the day Kazuma's still a painty-raiding harem lead who's the center of the girl's universe, and they all need him to "look after them". So basically he still enjoys the male fantasy of a standard harem of having these sexy silly girls who need him to be the only sensible man around to look after them and being the only one with sense (because apparently girls can't keep it together on their own), and without even the one mitigation of not being allowed to bully girls physically.

The anime left out the detail from the novels that explains how he can counter/cancel out attacks from someone like Misaka and Accelerator. It's a hidden ability that he manifested from using Imagine Breaker that lets him see when exactly to cancel out the attack or avoid taking any damage from it. There was also an interesting line where it says that if anyone else had Imagine Breaker, there could be a different results from what will happen. This was explained in the World War III arc where Touma and Accelerator had a rematch.

It'd be Solemn Scolding (Without the downsides, although Imagine Breaker has its own downsides, but those aren't really comparable), and it could be used anytime. Solemn Scolding can usually only be used when a card gets played, not when it's already on the field.

The new sound effect grew on me because I had to add a logic to WHY it sounds that way and it WEIRDLY makes sense to that the sound of magic or science being cancelled out would make that weird noise. Also this show plays with the concept of magic & science basically being two sides of the same coin that don't like each other, once in contact with the Imagine Breaker, they both make the exact same noise because they're practically the same.

This sound effect is way better. It feels like a divine power is truly making contact and putting a stop to whatever’s in its path. The original one was cool too but it was pretty generic like I’ve heard that sound effect before in other anime. This one however is totally unique.
When he was fighting accelerator in the first season accelerator was moving at a speed greater than a bullet and touma while gravely injured managed to dance around accelerator for speed context the speed of a bullet can range between 120m/s to 1200m/s the in between for these numbers is 540m/s which is still 1.63×the speed of sound and remember touma was injured so he wasn't even at full power
His precognition is OP and only limited by his just above average HS student. He literally can dodge anything, but his body can only do so much, hence he got trounched by someone like Aqua

Kihara Amata was Accelerator's mentor, so he more than anyone else knew his weaknesses. Kihara has only trained Accelerator to put a barrier on himself and repel when the opponent attacks. By doing this the albino was invincible. Therefore, people like Touma who spent his whole life fighting and running, and Kihara who doesn't have super powers because he's not an esper and therefore had to seek his own strength, would be superior to Accelerator in terms of physique and Battle IQ. Touma managed to pass through Accelerator's barrier because of IB, used precognition to dodge things and with great effort defeated Accelerator in punches. While Kihara hacked Misaka's network and thus rendered the albino inactive, as well as using a simple trick. Kihara knew that since the Accelerator reverses the vectors in its direction, So to hit him, just make a vector in his direction but move away at the exact moment he hits his AIM field. Translating, he just punches Accelerator but when he hits his barrier, he returns the punch move. then, when reflected because of the barrier, instead of the punch going backwards, it goes forward hitting Accelerator.
Since they’re mostly magicians and espers, they rely on their powers too much and dont have physical strength to withstand Touma’s punches which in the Novels is described that Touma’s punches are strong enough to knock out a trained soldier, this is because of Touma’s misfortune in Academy city that in his daily life, he often has to run from street thugs and get into fist fights with them showing how he builds up his physical strength and fitness-Touma can last for a long time running, Touma also has to avoid accidents like traffic in his daily life because again his misfortune, see for i.e how he one shots Fiamma in the face and Fiammas face became swollen. BTW I recommend you read Index Light novel if you’re willing to since the anime butchered the story and characters.
To be fair you could say the same for a lot of characters in Toaru 😂. Misaka would just be a tsundere that likes to get physical, magicians/magic gods would be people that love wearing few clothes and so on

My headcannon is that the Invisible Thing is actually Touma's esper power the Power Curriculum program gave him, but normally remains sealed by the Imagine Breaker. This would make him a level 5 esper at the very least and possibly a level 6.
Yeah its cool at first but it gets increasingly annoying if you hear it like consecutively, its not subtle at all and loud AF, the previous one was so subtle that its not annoying even if you hear it consecutively.
Also the source , is whatever inside his right hand his original power which is so broken it it required IB to seal it at first place ? Or someone else give that to him ?

Yeah its been theorized that his power negates the red string of fate as well as luck. Its not that he has bad luck, he has no luck whatsoever, good or bad.

I am to this day questioning how all the villains always go "Ah, the power is entirely located in his right arm, just cut it off" as if that would make any sense given any other power. All they are doing is cutting off the valve from the source.
A few characters try that later on, he uses Imagine Breaker to curve the attacks into each other and defend from multiple angles, or turn them back towards the enemy.
Make you wonder why don't the villains use natural weapons to take him out like guns, blades, and martial arts once they realize he can negate supernatural powers.
Cuz a lot of people already tried and Touma still kick their asses. A girl once tried to throw a building at him, he fucking calculate it trajectory and finds a gap where he could jump to avoid it. Accelerator threw a steel container at him and use exlosion, he uses his own reflection to avoid it. He even one-shotted a trained american soldier once. Touma ain't no slouce even without Imagine Breaker. That guy's a fucking tank.
Not really, he partook in the Civil of ENGLAND a few days ago and punched the Second Princess in the face. Then he fought who is essentially the strongest guy and true leader of the Catholic faith on top of a flying fortress over the fate of the world. Beating up Accel in Russia is barely that special in Touma's regular schedule.

@@Kamui3821 Nice reference to a Yu-Gi-Oh-card which nobody uses, but Imagine Breaker would be a card which can only be used at one target at a time, but negates anything what it targets. It'd be Solemn Scolding (Without the downsides, although Imagine Breaker has its own downsides, but those aren't really comparable), and it could be used anytime. Solemn Scolding can usually only be used when a card gets played, not when it's already on the field.

The new sound effect grew on me because I had to add a logic to WHY it sounds that way and it WEIRDLY makes sense to that the sound of magic or science being cancelled out would make that weird noise. Also this show plays with the concept of magic & science basically being two sides of the same coin that don't like each other, once in contact with the Imagine Breaker, they both make the exact same noise because they're practically the same.

This sound effect is way better. It feels like a divine power is truly making contact and putting a stop to whatever’s in its path. The original one was cool too but it was pretty generic like I’ve heard that sound effect before in other anime. This one however is totally unique.

This proves that Touma can be just as powerful as some level 5 like Misaka and Accelerator. He needs to be a higher level though.
When he was fighting accelerator in the first season accelerator was moving at a speed greater than a bullet and touma while gravely injured managed to dance around accelerator for speed context the speed of a bullet can range between 120m/s to 1200m/s the in between for these numbers is 540m/s which is still 1.63×the speed of sound and remember touma was injured so he wasn't even at full power
His precognition is OP and only limited by his just above average HS student. He literally can dodge anything, but his body can only do so much, hence he got trounched by someone like Aqua

Kihara Amata was Accelerator's mentor, so he more than anyone else knew his weaknesses. Kihara has only trained Accelerator to put a barrier on himself and repel when the opponent attacks. By doing this the albino was invincible. Therefore, people like Touma who spent his whole life fighting and running, and Kihara who doesn't have super powers because he's not an esper and therefore had to seek his own strength, would be superior to Accelerator in terms of physique and Battle IQ.
Touma managed to pass through Accelerator's barrier because of IB, used precognition to dodge things and with great effort defeated Accelerator in punches.
While Kihara hacked Misaka's network and thus rendered the albino inactive, as well as using a simple trick. Kihara knew that since the Accelerator reverses the vectors in its direction, So to hit him, just make a vector in his direction but move away at the exact moment he hits his AIM field. Translating, he just punches Accelerator but when he hits his barrier, he returns the punch move. then, when reflected because of the barrier, instead of the punch going backwards, it goes forward hitting Accelerator.

Since they’re mostly magicians and espers, they rely on their powers too much and dont have physical strength to withstand Touma’s punches which in the Novels is described that Touma’s punches are strong enough to knock out a trained soldier, this is because of Touma’s misfortune in Academy city that in his daily life, he often has to run from street thugs and get into fist fights with them showing how he builds up his physical strength and fitness-Touma can last for a long time running, Touma also has to avoid accidents like traffic in his daily life because again his misfortune, see for i.e how he one shots Fiamma in the face and Fiammas face became swollen. BTW I recommend you read Index Light novel if you’re willing to since the anime butchered the story and characters.

My headcannon is that the Invisible Thing is actually Touma's esper power the Power Curriculum program gave him, but normally remains sealed by the Imagine Breaker. This would make him a level 5 esper at the very least and possibly a level 6.
