- In this video I cover the practical effects and information we know so far about Touma's abilities! You can consider this a pseudo-remake of the dragon video I made which blew up two years ago. A lot of it hasn't been revealed yet therefore I'll only talk about the things we do know as of the date this video was recorded. This video was also voted for on my Patreon! Since starting the series in 2013, I have been completely drunk on finding the truth about Touma's Dragon powers. I have spent hours, days, months, and even years trying to find out the truth. From reading occult books to Dragons myths, you name it! Looking into every possible theory it could be. Touma and his Dragons are my favorite thing in the whole series and I can't wait to find out the truth of one of the greatest mysteries in Japanese media.

Same, ever since I started the series, I've always had a feeling that Touma had something beyond imagine breaker and the dragons are definitely proof of that. Definitely one of the coolest things in the franchise.
Funny thing about Dragon's myth Is that Othinus herself mention that Dragons are one of the most ambiguous figures, can be interpreted in many forms in religións or organizations, as it's one of the reasons even she can't know about that power

It's crazy how this kid who only started with right hand that negates supernatural stuff like magic can have these amount of power is surprising.
And even crazier how everytime we get a hint at his true power we end up getting more questions than answers. And has been this way for 18 damn years 🗿
I wish he could use at least a weaker or fraction of the dragons cuz his skill set is getting boring. Punching while saying heroic stuff. After the fifth so person he punched it started to get annoying, yes The Whole speech of him welding guns, powers, or martial arts isn’t as good as his power of connections, yada yada. It would be interesting if each time he punches someone he would trigger a random effect of one of the dragons and not wait for him to dance around with a long speech finishing it with a one hit ko move. One ouch fire, next ice, next is mental attack. They could even make it a gag with funny effects and out puts

On the contrary, IMO, I feel like Touma getting power ups everytime will just remove all the good points that make him different from most other MC. The point of the way Touma is not using any cool powers or weapons is to proof anybody can do whatever he can do (saving people I mean, not the negating power shit), if he use his near-almighty ability to do it, it will just remove that effect.
Eh. If you think punching and preaching is the only thing Touma do in his fights, then (no offense) I guess we aren't reading the same series. He's no martial artist, but he did a lot of different tactics to beat his opponents, either using his enviroments or finding new ways by utilize Imagine Breaker.
Also, just saying this, Touma's speeches (While it does chance some of the character's point of view in life), it was just some bullshit he came up with on the spot, Kamijou himself admitted it NT9. Touma is a hypocrite. He didn't believe even half of what he himself is saying, so saying that they're cheesy or lame didn't really held any merit.
@@kamijounotouma5596 thats what i love that makes him unique, him relying solely on his brain, IB, willpower and instinct regardless of the opponent despite being at a super disadvantage. Sure he also has a super busted op cosmic zoo inside of him but he doesnt have control of it therefore he dont like using it since it takes away chances of "saving" his opponent or someones life

Thats what makes him pretty compelling honestly :) hes a broken op mc (potentially) but actually balanced in a way that makes the story interesting and makes his wins whether via beating villains or convince them actually meaningful

@@AeonofHorus well it is stated that IT is swallowed by Touma's own power that overpowered it so i think that while IT is a separate being that came with IB the Dragons are inborn to him as his relative have a questionable name that connected to the dragon king so maybe his family(mother side) is a hidden clan that connected to dragons as many supernatural being are popping out in GT
Touma's powers are truly a trip to experience. I like that as slowly getting into the verse
One of my favorite pairings as well when it comes to him is definetly Zenkichi from Medaka Box, both seem to compliment each other well and really wonder who could take it by the end.
Imagine Breaker it's so a great power in terms of make Touma a versitile character, can give him a chance powerfull oponents but doesn't make him like that, one day can fight a god and the other a simply street thug

But either way, we still haven't gotten anything about what could be the true powers (aside from Dragon powers, Invisible Thing, Fish Eggs and KnT as well, shall I mention) sleeping within his arm, all kept at bay by Imagine Breaker. And basically, the true essence of Kamijou Touma's abilities, is what interests me the most. And we know how he has evolved so far in this whole series. But you never know: anything can happen as we might see this said true essence finally come to light someday. If you agree to this, then look forward for the future novels that will come. Just want to point out Touma's experience he gained fighting Othinus doesn't necessarily translate to general combat ability just super specialized in memorizing Othinus's attack patterns in particular.
But that's memorizing the attack patterns of the God of War, Strategy and Deception.
At the same time I think it makes him a way more experienced fighter than previous
mf this isn't dark souls

I like to think that Touma’s Dragons and his powers are akin to The True Magics in Nasuverse ie they are close/related to The Pure World/The Root.
Now we just need a character analysis on Leivinia and the Dawn Coloured Sunlight.

Those are tooo much powerful and need a separate video dedicated on them.
This is a pretty interesting video and also it's pretty helpful for power scaling touma but I also think it would be interesting to go over a video about his physical attributes like how fast he can run and fight and how hard he can find and his durability I think that would make for a good video just going over his feats.
I think his "how does Touma fight" video sort of goes through this but yeah its appreciated
I feel like a video speaking about all the powers from the series that aren't magical nor scientific in nature would be really cool, starting with Touma, then going with the miracle of Endymion, the World Rejecter, etc.
Imagine Breaker is just way too interesting... People tend to underrated it by saying it's just a generic power which dennies other powers :')
The fun part is that Touma MADE negating powers become generic 😂he was the first to really become famous for it while other characters followed. So even if people underrate it they gotta get someone started that

I could imagine if Academy city wasn't so blinded with their obsession with level 6 they would of tried to constantly capture and experiment on him.
Only reason I see they wouldn't connect the dots of accelerator being defeated by him was because it was misaka who dealt the crippling blow (no pun intended) and their obsession with level 5s and trying to make a level 6.
Aleister manipulated things, so that anyone wouldn't go snooping around Touma's info, and would deal with those who do with extreme prejudice.
Good to go over his powers. I can use this for the fanfic I'm making with Touma in it.
Toumas powers could possibly be the most powerful ability in the series. Remember that even gods blessings can't affect him meaning the literal god himself can't do anything to him aside from physical harm.
a small detail that it seems that for some reason I have not seen anyone discuss and it happens that when Touma's doppleganger manifested, it happened that a nucleus in the form of a prism manifested, the curious thing about this is that from how they describe it it seems be very similar to the one that kazakiri has, which is an artificial angel that was created from the aim fields of the espers, and in fact touma mentions it briefly when this happens, the curious thing here is that the being could transform into a dragon and that another prism referred to angels, but in the series it has been mentioned that one of the things it represents is a fallen angel stained with evil, of course it may simply be a metaphor but who knows.
since aiwass himself has mentioned that angel and dragon are the best ways to describe him.
In addition, that prism-shaped core is also good in railgun when faced with am aim burst, which was similar to kazakiri, an artificial angel that was created from the espers aim fields
I'm not sure of the origin of Touma's power but I think it's fair to assume it's a portal to the paranormal. Imagine breaker trying to keep it sealed is a double edge sword as it allows Touma to use it and weaken the seal but everything we see come out of it is beyond normal magic or esper ability.
If it was a portal. The dragons wouldn’t bother helping him. And the invisible white thing wouldn’t care a f about him,
Nevertheless, it seems Touma simple is the world or rather the center that connects all the dragons & invisible things together.
Basically a bad luck magnet that keeps those things on him,

@@R_JinWell Touma got tortured in many reasons notably being bitten, electrocuted, blasted by magic, bisected, denied to exist, crushed by his enemies turned allies most of the time. His "Imagine Breaker" also cancels divinity so he lacks divine protection to protect himself, at least a certain Magic God stuck by his side.

The dragons the invisible thing and the eggs might all be one thing. What I mean is the eggs might be the eggs of the dragons which then hatch into the dragons themselves the invisible thing might be the rest of the body of the dragons. To be specific one of the arms.
Evidently Touma's dragons are just the counter-concepts to whatever they might encounter by being it's predatory embodiment.

Touma himself theorized as much when he thought about the fact that the Invisible Thing was crushed by Othinus easily but then he was able to defeat World Rejecter, which has defeated multiple much more powerful Magic Gods
Though, it is *my* theory that here Touma has reached the correct conclusion with his theory, although it is rather on a wrong object
As in, the Invisible Thing not being able to pound Othinus doesn't mean it cannot pound World Rejecter. But there ARE other more powerful Invisible Things that are beyond the Invisible Thing that got pounded by Othinus, just that they don't necessarily need to pop in here in this fight to wipe World Rejecter clean

Hey Aeon and all other fanfic writers. I just had a cool idea but I absolutely suck at writing fiction. Touma runs into Shutaura Sequenzia and learns that she continues to write songs and sing due to wanting to hold onto Arisa’s legacy as she is also a part of her. A while ago, a idol contractor happened to overhear her singing at a karaoke place to vent out her stress. He asked her to apply for this audition as her singing reminded him of Arisa’s. She thought of refusing outright but thoughts of Arisa caused her to change her mind and she accepted. Not wanting to have her identity discovered she dresses as Arisa to honor her. She passed the audition and is asked to sing at a huge concert to fund Academy City after the Coronzon incident. She asks if she can perform a duet with someone due to being uncomfortable singing onstage alone. The request is granted and we are back in the present.
Touma offers to help her but he does not know how. FYI in my headcanon Touma is able to speak to his dragons after the Coronzon incident. The green dragon asks if she could help. Touma says her voice is the most beautiful he has ever heard but he cannot summon her without hurting himself and freaking out the audience. She offers to teach Touma to sing, acting as his coach and summons herself partially to supervise Touma and Shutaura’s tandem singing practice. When the day of the event arrives a lot of notable people are there including the Railgang, Shokuhou & Junko and some of her clique, Gunha due to owing Junko a date after their latest sparing match, Mugino and ITEM due to Fremea, Accelerator, Kakine in smol beetle form, and surprisingly a few of the Anglican Church magicians and Itsuwa and Leivinia when they learned Touma would be singing. The Misaka clones are also watching through the network or from TV. I know I basically wrote a story skeleton but I was wondering if someone could take these ideas and roll with it and see how it comes out. Also I usually give each of Touma’s dragons names based on their powers at least until Kamachi reveals their names if they have any because it sounds like something Touma would do. What does everyone here think of this story idea?

You know touma is such the true vital char that everyone revolves into when the Vatican and other churches have deemed him "saint killer" or extremely dangerous Entity when he literally deck 3 saints in a row and still back in one piece
To be fair the Izard fight with the dragon was actually izards magic backfiring since his magic was based on his perception and Thoma appeared completely unphased by losing his arm putting him in complete panic mode
That was the initial impression of what they believed at the time until it was disproven in Railgun with the appearance of the dragons.
It's getting weirder. Because his power changes form more and more times ... Maybe we'll finally find out what it's all about ..

I could definitely see touma struggling against physical based opponents like garou from one punch man because most of garou's abilities are physical based he's just a really good martial artist who can punch really hard and get stronger as he fights he also has a form of precognition to the point where he can fight people that he can't even see move
Touma Is a normal person in physicall terms, that's why In the series it's used to be crushed by saints like Acqua or Kanzaki that had things like super strenght or agility
In his base form, he's really not a match for superhuman martial artists.
For him, training in martial arts or holding weapons has become a taboo.
Dragon shell can physically make him competent, with the thick armor, inflated precognition, high speed, super strength and sharp claws.
Also Garou has quite surpassed "physical based" stuff currently in the manga XD
Ofc, Touma durability cannot endure Physical Based Opponents like Garou. But if it's Magical/Supernatural Based Opponents he can nullify or probably beat them to Zero (nothing).
Touma is a great Mc to me, cuz he's not OP like typically MC from fantasy isekai, but he's not Weak. He's like Joker Card, Vulnerable against Guns/bullet or strong physical strength but invulnerable against any esper/magic attack.
He's my top 5 MC (in Japanese fictional works)

@@absolstoryoffiction6615 He's not allowed to pick up weapons, due to [spoilers] it has been theorized that he can bring so many people under his influence because he (in those cases) didn't use his weapons or powers.
Just him being there can save the person beside him. Because of his misfortune, he is used to getting the worst outcome among a group of people.

I believe the reason he has dragons for power is because in the fight with the guy that can make the illutions reality made him believe that he was unstoppable and that he had a dragon power as u explained in the video also and that is why he had extra power. Expect if i was wrong about the green guy ability and it wasnt working like that but i remember correctly he said everything i think or say become real
Nah, the effect isn't permanent seeing how Touma cancelled his own memory wipe thus getting his IB reattach would erase the dragon if it wasn't originally within Touma. Also alchemist dude power lose effect when he lose focus seeing how Stiyl went from skinless back to normal

Tomas imaginebreaker is actually THE philosophers stone. All his abilities including the dragons seem to point to this as The philosophers stone can be used for ANYTHING pretty much on can IMAGINE. See what I did there.
It's not, if anything, Touma himself is the philosophers stone, the hand is nothing but a seal, it just so happens to be the strongest seal there is, strong enough to seal Touma's personal reality and all of his other powers, being able to nullify supernatural abilities is just a consequence of how strong the seal is.

Nobody knows, the only thing confirmed is that his lost memories and stuff as somewhere hidden within him as KnT did have them. That means they are not completely lost
@@pierocolombo2643 Thaanks for addressing my questions. So far in the anime they haven't addressed his memory loss, in that they don't show him getting them back. They just now started revealing to other characters his memory loss and since A Certain Magical Index hasn't gotten another Season yet it hasn't been totally addressed in the anime AND it's been years since the last Season of Index so I was asking if his memories were ever returned maybe in the LN.

In contrast I doubt Joker’s guns can actually work on Touma’s imaginary breaker unless Touma knows there fake guns. Joker’s guns are fake and use the supernatural fundamentals of cognitive science in their universe. If Touma can negate Aureolus Izzard’s alchemy that abide by similar rulings then Touma should be able to negate all the abilities of persona expect for the cognitive worlds of course. With the guns if even if he believes there real guns imagine breaker should still work due to the illusion period. Only problem if Touma would assume it’s real gun it’s unlikely he will even challenge that theory.
It's kind of funny how real weapons can critically harm Touma but not anything beyond the current collective world "knowledge" of his present time.
Or in other words... The closer one goes into the Original Existence. The more the Imagine Breaker isn't so much of an imagine breaker.

He is. Imagine Breaker is just a power that isn't classified as an esper power or magic. Anyone that goes through the power curriculum of Academy City to develop esper powers are classified as espers, even if they are a Level 0 like Touma who do not have esper powers :^)

@@RealLifeIronMan they a potential to manifest it but just dont awaken their powers at all hence why they are at 0 and just look like normal humans, lv1 manifest it in very very small degrees, 2s do it a bit more substantially (more or less in a mediocre way), 3s can already use their powers for a lot of stuff and they manifest it no problem (you are already very above average here), 4s are strong af and manifest it easily as well as applying it in many versatile ways (some lv4s do have potential to lv5 but they have either 1 or more things holding them back that keeps them at 4) and finally lv5 i dont think they need an introduction lol powerhouses all the way around.

Not unreasonable tbh, one of his dragons in railgun manga did feed off the powers from another character (Kimi) so reaching enough that Touma's monsters absorb powers wouldnt be surprinsing 🤔

So it wud seem I have learnt something new today. I thought touma’s onl6 ability was his imagine breaker in his right arm. But wat I didn’t realize is that the weird head thing that appeared on his arm when he fought that god was actually 1 of his powers. I thought it was just him scaring his opponent making them react in a way that scared him and imagine things.
Yeah Touma's body is holding a lot (and i mean a lot) but thats all the info we have for now

i love this story and the characters but i h8 with passion the fact that after 20 years we have no clue as to what imagine breaker is or what it seals,i cant get out of my mind the idea that he keeps it like that so he can pull out anything and everything later in the story.

this was in my recommended. and despite the great content, I don't know if I can dive into the magical index series after seeing so many seasons come out for the anime
There's only three seasons of Index but obviously more if you check out the spinoffs. But honestly, Index wasn't even handled well in anime form, Railgun seasons 2 & 3 are the best in terms of what the anime has to offer. Just try reading volume one of the Index light novel to see if its for you, as it was intended as a one-shot volume.

He didn't stop curtana, Touma already destroyed Curtana Original by the time Fiamma met Carissa, and Fiamma hasn't created any stars. With Gabriel he can order her to move the stars with Astro in Hand though.

I dont know, i'd say those death still were pretty important... And well i dont know if we can count kakine death, since he was kept alive for aleister but as far we knew when ot15 was released that was it for him, kind of crazy to kill the level5 number 2 in his introduction... and some more.

In the Japanese they pronounce it: Inokentiusu (the "u's" are silent)
They don't use the Latin pronunciation where I think the "c" actually has a "ch" sound similar to Italian. Orrrrrr you can use the English pronunciation of how you would say "Innocent". Either way I'd rather not overcomplicate pronunciations and say what sounds natural lol.

The nuts thing about Imagine Breaker is that its negating Touma's Godlike abilities while also negating everything else out in the world that he touches. Given that, without Imagine Breaker Touma would likely be the strongest being in the world, but because he doesn't get to use those abilities they are ultimately immature. Just look at what he does with no knowledge or control of his abilities. It's probably why he wants to "maintain control". I think Touma is afraid of what he could be, or be forced to be, because of his own power. While it's somewhat a curse, Imagine Breaker allows Touma to be mostly a regular human.
