    The boostmonster is awesome! Super cool to see somebody restoring and modernising one of these gnarly huck bikes. Just found the channel, and love it. Also very excited to see what the future has in store for your property. Keep up the great work!

    It looks like this bike would be prime for the wide jump trails at Whistler and such. Seems like in the steeps and tech it wants to toss you a bit more than I would expect, probably from the high COG as you mentioned at the end. This is a fun series though and a ridiculous setup that is almost comical.

      Me thinking all the video: "a whistler video with this would be sooo nice"
      Jordan: "might work well on Crabapple hits"
      🎉🎊✨
      Please take it to whistler

    • @shemshem9998
      @shemshem9998 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      idk, whistler is toooo well build, if most people can hit everything on enduro bikes without challenging the bike too much, this thing will just be a cloud, what im saying is go crazy north shore shit, huge drops too flat that make you think "who the fuck even thought this was a good idea" and then BOOST of those, stupid steep rock rollers with crazy compressions, basically everything the same size as the stuff on whistler but build worse...
      and then boost of that

  • @patrickbarrett5790

    This has been a really interesting journey. I dig seeing the BoostMonster getting the full Treatment, ala the oil slick bolts, sweet touch. The most intriguing idea you posed, is the custom frame to give you the modern geometry along with the sick Travel of the Monster. If that ever happens that would make an insane vid. Cheers!

    This is so sick! It's amazing seeing the side shots on this bike. The older geo looks so much more like you're riding ON the bike instead of the modern geo that looks more like you're riding IN the bike. That's got to feel way different. Mad respect!

    So sick seeing this bike get dialed in and the huge drops it wants to hit! The 24' wheels should make a difference in handling, hopefully at not too much of a loss in rolling speed. I bet a size L frame would actually lower your overall body position too, if you haven't tried that already. Overall super rad tho🤟🏻⚡

    Hey, about the squeling brakes, im not sure but i think what happens is that the brakes get too hot that the brakepads get like "glassed" or so smooth that it causes squeling, maybe get some high heat pads:) this comes from ridin motorcycles and every time a new rotor and high temp pads has fixed it for me, love the content:D

  • @ESHEW2
    @ESHEW2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Motorex racing oil 10w should get that rebound a bit slower. If you need to speed it up after use some motorex racing 5 or 7w to mix in. For seals check the dimensions of the SKF KITG-40M green Marzocchi seals, should fit & if they do it'll be amazeballs... I promise. Also, fill the void between the oil & dust seals with Slickoleum or Slick honey. Oil level can be raised to add more progression, but too much will limit travel. I think filled to within 135mm from the top of the stanchions fully compressed with springs removed is ideal, making sure to cycle the dampers 20x. Gotta get the air out. I am the king of Marzocchi tuning :)

    • @JordanBoostmaster
      @JordanBoostmaster  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya I do have 10 wt motorex oil in already! I put 400ml in each leg, I didn't measure it like you are saying though, would that be better? I find ml an easier way to measure haha. Can you really mix oil weights? I heard you don't want to do that. Also I am thinking about the rebound that maybe I should get some different shim stacking? Though I can't do any of that myself though!

    • @ESHEW2
      @ESHEW2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JordanBoostmaster Looks like the SKF KITG-40M (you'll need 2 kits) has an outer DIA of 52.75mm if that matches the Super Monster I would highly recommend you give them a shot, I think it's around $40 per side but the reduction in stiction when I used the green skf seals on my Marzocchi Shiver was quite impressive.

    • @JordanBoostmaster
      @JordanBoostmaster  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ESHEW2 Oh cool I never knew about those! thanks for sharing, I was just using seals called "Ariete Fork Oil Seal ARI.124" and "0.23" I just hear the the 'enduro seals' are no good haha.

    • @JordanBoostmaster
      @JordanBoostmaster  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ESHEW2 Also one thing I am realizing about my rebound, is it seems to be more of a high speed rebound that doesn't seem to have enough damping. While my slow speed rebound seems just fine! I am also suspicious I might need a bit more oil, or also cycle it more? So much to learn here!

    • @ESHEW2
      @ESHEW2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JordanBoostmaster I noticed that in the vid, on big hits the fork does kick back pretty quickly. Definitely pop the tops, compress the forks and pump those rods fully and slowly until no more air bubbles are coming up, then check oil level. Could be a super easy and simple solution. ARI seals aren't bad, honestly I think Enduro seals are fine as well. I think they got a bad rap back in the day on Fox forks. I've used a ton of Enduro seals over the years rebuilding old Marzocchi Z2's. They worked great. Ari's as well. If the ARI's don't stop weeping after a few more rides the Green SKF seals are certainly an upgrade. But you might have to be the first person to confirm they fit :)

    So rad. I remember cruising around on my buddy's standard Monster in 2001/2 and it was totally mind blowing, let alone the super!
    Obviously it needs a longer, slacker frame that you can get down IN instead of towering over. Seems you're washing the front end on rebound after compressions, it's gotta be hard to weight that front tire all the time. Maybe a couple clicks of rebound in the front? Either way can't wait to see more.
    edit: I see you have the same thoughts. I'm curious to see what you're running for wheels and tires when you go 24". I've got an old 2001 250cc that I'm trying to modernize a bit and want something lighter and stronger than the 26/24 doublewides that are on it, but 24 isn't exactly common these days!
