  • The day has finally arrived! Today we find out if our Sleeper Volvo V70R build finally has the power to take down the E46 M3 and the Toyota Supra the boys at Albon Films are building. What's the final number? It's WAY bigger than I thought it would be.

      I fortunately just got a 2007 V70 2.5 T FWD 1 owner 135k miles super clean White on beige for $2.500. After purchase the previous owner tells me he just got it out of the shop for a full 100 k maintenance service and spent $2,500 on the bill not including the 4 brand new tires he just added as well. I am in Volvo heaven.

    Congratulations for your rewarding efforts. I can’t wait for the race! I think that a powerful Volvo sport wagon is the way to go, and they look so cool. I don’t know if you were into Volvo in the 90s or not, but I believe that the first year 98? V 70 XC (like my wife’s) was surprisingly picked as the SUB of the year by Car and Driver to the chagrin and consternation of the full size pickup trucks.! I am supposed to get my 1985 245 Turbo back from the paint shop! Can’t wait. I did t mechanical overhaul in my garage, but was hit by a woman backing out from the doctor’s office. We both had Allstate insurance and they refused payment. Her van wasn’t damaged, but her bumper came up over mine and crushed the passenger side brake and signal lights.
    Due to health issues, I have been waiting for 4 years to get this done.!

    Assuming those numbers are including the WCF (Weather Correction Factor), which it looks like it does (WC @ end of number) that Mustang Dynos usually apply you wont see an increase in tq or power on a "better" day or a decrease on a "worse" day. Would've been nice to see the corrected and uncorrected numbers on the main mustang dyno dash or an overlay of both on the graph. Also was your original dyno corrected or uncorrected numbers? Ideally you want to compare corrected between both dynos to really show the improvement, or else like you said weather can have a huge impact.

    I hope you'll change your mind about bigger wheels and raising it. I've got an S60 from the same generation and I absolutely love its stance on stock wheels. Not to mention you'll lose some power at the wheels, if they're bigger.
    Anyway, awesome car!

    • @StackBundle
      @StackBundle 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's already lowered. He wouldn't be raising it higher than stock height. Also I forget if his other wheels are larger than the pegs but I would bet money they aren't as heavy anyway.

    • @adrianohaha7659
      @adrianohaha7659 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StackBundle if it's lowered then he must put it back where Volvo designed it to be, of course!
      The power loss is not necessarily from the weight, though any unsprung added weight is going to affect handling, bur purely from the larger diameter, since it takes more torque to spin the wheel.

    • @StackBundle
      @StackBundle 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adrianohaha7659 He doesn't *have* to do anything. And having a larger wheel does not mean that the wheel+ tire diameter is larger. He would most likely have lower profile tires with a larger wheel size so the overall diameter would be about the same.

      And he said bigger WHEELS! Now, I'm not a native English speaker, but the wheel is the rim plus tire. A bigger wheel means a larger diameter imo. If I'd just want bigger rims, I would say "bigger rims".
      Anyway, don't get so worked up, we're here to have fun and discuss car stuff, not to be offended/offensive etc.

      @@mw5461 I was talking about the sound. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Not my other mods...
      BSR cold air intake, DO88 intake, 16T angled flange hybrid turbo, DO88 rip kit, alloy intercooler, water intercooler spray, customized throttle body, blue injectors, machined and flowed R manifold, 200 cell cat downpipe, TME Sweden catback, AEM high pressure pump, AFR gauge.

    No one cares about peak crank HP, not sure why you are so focused on that, WHP is all that matters. You cannot calculate actual drive train loss unless you bench test the motor and have a starting point. Peak HP is for arm chair racers, look at the gains through the whole powerband, does the power come on sooner, later ect. I couldn't finish the video honestly. Hopefully you mentioned the type of DYNO you guys were using because that will make a difference in outcome. Not meant to flame your car is cool and sounds great.
