    70 beats a day and 30 throwaways? Shit! And I thought 9th wonder work ethic was crazy. They titled him "tupac of beats". Cant wait till I get my gear.

      His beats are still some of my all time favorites. He did a lot of dope shit with Drag On as well which was my personal favorite artist on RR. Still is. Drag is still putting out some dope shit actually, most people just don't see it because he's indie now.

      5 beats a day for 3 summers sounds like more work. Bc you’re not doing it consistently it’s JUST for a period. That’s gotta b hard to stop and go in and out of a craft like that. Easy to lose motivation

    The only way that I am giving a real music producer real credit is if they make and create their own beat from scratch. Period. Samplers get no credit from me at all. True beat makers create something from very little.

    didn't swizz produce most of dmx's first album? I think so...beats were kinda ghetto but still some classic shit

    • @justinarchibald9331
      @justinarchibald9331 9 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Swizz beats did only ONE beat on DMX's first album "Ruff Ryders Anthem", the rest was done by Dame Grease and PK tracks. But Because the owners of the label are Swizz's Uncles, as soon as Swizz got a lil decent they pushed an agenda and had him producing most of everything else. Wasn't Swizz' fault but Swizz wasn't consistently great in the beginning and it damaged the integrity of the Ruff Ryders Catalogue.

    • @kuruptzZz
      @kuruptzZz 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Justin Archibald oh...nevermind, I'm thinking of "flesh of my flesh", which was almost all swizz producing...that album was classic too though

    • @justinarchibald9331
      @justinarchibald9331 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      kuruptzZz yeah but if you look at the label on a whole: DMX's beat work was with Dame Grease, LOX's best work was with Alchemist, Eve's best work was with Teflon and Dr Dre. Best track on "Flesh..." Slippin. Producer: DJ Shok. But Swizz got made to handle mass production and he made a lot of album fillers that were trash

    • @kuruptzZz
      @kuruptzZz 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Justin Archibald well I remember getting that shit on tape and bumping it start to finish...blackout, keep your shit the hardest, it's all good, heat, flesh of my flesh, even the intro was sick...I guess most of that came down to DMX just being a beast, but swizz did a good job and his production fit X's gritty raps perfectly. My favorite album by far though is "it's dark and hell is hot", so I guess I agree with dame grease being his best combo

    • @fishgrz125
      @fishgrz125 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Justin Archibald They made sure Swizz produced the hits tho(Party Up, What U Want, Wild Out) But you right, he more less put Cassidy on and made his name with other producing.
