Certainly, he gets a lot of money because of his music and the people he creates for. Regardless, he says that his real goal is to change the music industry, not just feed off of it.
A very intelligent individual who inspires the artist by designing a musical landscape that caters to personal style and authenticity that works seamlessly. This guy here is a genuine and truthful artist.
Absolutely agree. He is a modern day great who pays attention to detail and who understands while integrity as a producer is great, it is the artist who needs to shine. I have the same type of respect for producer iamProfessorO
This dude right here is speaking from 1000s of hours if practice and dedication. Hours of sitting down and figuring our programs and machines. To now he is at the point of being able to create master pieces. I am a producer at heart and know if i really went in I would be good at it however I know what I need to give up in order to get there. I need to go through everything he did. I'm now 37 and am an investment adviser. A quite good one at that. But man deep down i wish I just dived in as a child and gave it my all to producing. Nothing beats the feeling of hearing your final product. No amount of money can buy that feeling.
it only takes like a year to start making good beats tbh (with no music theory) after that it's just learning better ways to mix and make things sound different, it doesn't take as long as you think if you put your heart into it and do it as much as you can.
ENTIDY while this may be true, if you want to make it big as a producer you need connections and possibly a studio. You can only get so far without marketing yourself and befriending as many people as possible
40 really HAS TO go down as one of the greatest producers of all time. The information and inspiration in this man is endless. He speaks on things other producers just don't. He literally says everything I believe in when it comes to making music creatively and efficiently.
I'm right there with you man. Love what he says about the simplicity. I'm just getting started and am overwhelmed by the idea of trying to make a "full" beat without clutter

So much passion for what he does, this guy lives, eats and breathes music production. Seriously, I am jealous. This guy gets to do what he loves for the rest of his life and get paid for it. I don't even know what I am passionate about, but it ain't what I am doing now. Life sucks.

Met 40 in Mexico 2017 he was sitting in the VIP booth, he saw my toronto hat and told me to come and take a pic and vibe for a minute. Humble and most chill person ive met who has this much fame and power over music production. Much Love 40!
If you listen to "Views" properly or just the instrumental throughout the album you'll see that 40 is an ET, this nigga's production is almost like a fucking rope, listening to songs he's produced holds you for that 3-5 minutes (6... if longer) and you're hooked. "keep the family Close" is one where the introduction of that record, from the laughing to the instruments like i think i heard a trumpet or some cymbals or something and it just f*** flowed straight into drake saying "All of my let's just be friends..."; I swear, He's WAAAAY above above-average!!. That's just one example too
Crazy how now it’s the norm to start with the melody for most producers. See a lot of producers call people stupid for starting with the drums even though that’s really how hip hop started. Looping a drum break. Moral of the story is there are no rules to this ish. If it sounds good, then do it. Worrying about what the next dude thinks about what you do is the quickest way to kill your inspiration and creativity
This was a super dope mini-doc into 40's production. Honestly, he's one of the best, and he happens to work with one of the best artists in the game right now, which equals crazy good music. Dope.
