Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.
Don’t be a hater. The cool thing about Larry is that he is old and still interviewing “new age” talent and actually interested in it and he is curious about it and it’s authentic. He doesn’t know about slipknot but he is curious about it and learning about it and interviewing an interesting person. That’s what was cool about Larry. Rip.
For all of you people wondering, Larry King researches and knows all about his guests. He asks these questions so his audience (the over 50's demographic) can get the information. To have Slipknot even mentioned on Larry King is awesome.
I just watched the clip and Larry King came across as a underwear-shitting geezer... why do people always go into some stereotype character mode when confronted with something out of their circles? Is Larry King trying to tell his geezer audience to act like befuddled old fools when talking to someone out of your social group that you don't understand or fear? And I've seen some good Larry King interviews too.
He was really trying to understand Slipknot instead of judging it right off the bat like 95% of those other hosts in talk shows. Larry was a great man, rip.
yea did you know that if you skinned Larry King and ironed out his leather you could make enough Slipknot masks to give 1 to every Slipknot fan in America?
"What band wears masks?' "Slipknot does." *Barley a minute later* "We wear masks the entire show" "That's Slipknot, right?" I seriously applaud Corey for being so patient with this guy.
+reniisgod Yeah IT looks like Larry is not into Coreys image, but he is legend and very inelligent, also he respect sincere people and Corey is like that, they are actually quite relaxed both and Larry is little in his "own space". so it might give impression he dont give a F ! , but thats only wrong impression, Larry like rebels musicians !

I'm from central Iowa, and as teenagers, we remembered what Slipknot band members had what tattoos on the only exposed portion of their skin, the neck, and hands. After leaving a movie theater one evening, we approached a gentleman whose tattoos looked familiar. Being the Nokia brick phone era, a photo was impossible seeing how nobody had a camera handy. Nobody would have believed us anyway since there weren't photos of band members to support our discovery those days. But upon pinpointing it was Corey, he was amazed that of all things that gave away his secret identity were his neck tattoos.
Chase Poldberg Nice. I live in Des Moines, and I'm pretty sure I've seen Sid walking around recently. Didn't take a picture, but ya know, it's freaking Sid.
Their masks were essentially their Hannah Montana wigs - they were only Slipknot while wearing them but without them, they were just regular people who could blend in and walk among the rest of us lol
So awesome to have a member of Slipknot being interviewed by a legend that is Larry King. He does a good job at explaining to his audience who and what the person of the band is and what they do. So they understand who they are. And not get confused with Corey’s other band Stone Sour. Great interview
Rubens Gabriel for the most part. usually when it comes to wearing masks while performing the pain is put on any place where the mask touches the skin to prevent rubbing and scraping their faces while headbanging lol.
''So how do they recognize you?'' Well, the internet? Slipknot has been around for 20 years. Speaking of.. Remember when finding an unmasked picture of Slipknot members was the coolest thing ever?
Those gaming freaks of Scotland they take off their masks because they want their fans to be able to see the face behind the mask. They want their fans to feel more of a personal relation to the band and the songs
Larry “So you all wear different masks?” Corey “yeah we all wear different masks in slipknot” Larry “So does everyone in slipknot wear a different mask? Corey “yes” Larry “So everyone’s is wearing a different mask?” Corey “ya”
I love how Corey dodges that slight shade when Larry asks if they’re playing Halloween. “Oh yeah...in Dallas.” Sounds like he expected that question almost lol
I'm not of fan of this genre of music (even tho I fuck with a few songs by slipknot), but one of my friends loves slipknot, and I personally like Corey's mask from all hope is gone better than this one. The 08 one was just scarier to me.
Larry King clearly does not give any semblance of a shit about slipknot, he actually seems annoyed he is interviewing Corey and gives the impression he is looking down at him/pity him for his stage show. Sadly Larry King is a big name and a good source of publicity, so I understand why Corey was not offended...But personally I would be a bit miffed.

Michael Welsh Yea, you can see it with watching Slipknot, watch Corey live with Stone Sour, then Slipknot, he turns from some fun loving guy who likes to run and jump like an idiot to a super serious musician who doesn't take shit from anyone.
Is it just me, or does Corey's laugh at 1:04 really sound fucking creepy due to the muffling of his voice with the mask on? I found it really creepy :P
It’s as if Corey just got called to Principal King’s office because the security found questionable items in his locker so now he’s got some explaining to do.
+Ray Tavarez Definitely. An interesting question would have been: "How did it feel to perform without a mask for the first time?". But Larry was nowhere close to that. He was still in the "are you all wearing different kinds of masks" phase.
