    One of the most helpful things, in my process of learning to set up my Fpv system with my Phantom 2. I would give it 100 thumbs up if I could.

    Great guide - one thing that you skipped over (probably because you knew how to do it already) but selecting the Band on the Black Pearl is a bit tricky and I read the instructions and still couldn't work it out. You have to press the power button to bring up the menu and then M (or Mode) to select the submenus. This will allow you to pick the Band and also change the signal input to match your signal format (PAL/NTSC) from your GoPro.

    Glad to see your tilt function on your remote works, mine didn't but I modified it with a knob on the front .. Hmm I can't wait to get fpv set up ... And some more batteries .. Thanks for posting the how to..

    • @ThatHPIGUY
      @ThatHPIGUY  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey dbest1a if your tilt function does not work its usually the lever not making contact with the yellow star shaped pots inside, you can just lift up the green control board a little and it works, thanks for watching.

    • @sergiouk80
      @sergiouk80 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      ThatHPI GUY See, I've been dreaming of this pitch movement for ages. All I've managed to figure out was how to make it "always stay" in a different position on start up!
      Now, I can see the lever isn't touching the yellow pot inside (it's like 2mm to 3mm off) and it dazzles why DJI would build something not to work, even tho they give you all the tools!
      My question here is, how to raise the green control board (if easy) or should I just buy the DJI Phantom Tilt Lever that quadcopters.co.uk have on their website?
      Any ideas?
      Thanks

      I got annoyed with fiddling n found a video on TH-cam that showed me how to change it over to the knob.. But maybe like ThatHPI GUY says some washers under the board will raise it up a bit

    Thanks for the vid--instructional and well presented. I presume that in order to get vid out, the zenmuse usb cable is plugged into the Gopro. Also I suspect that the gopro operates via it's own battery power--so a full charge before use is advisable.
    And that the gopro auto shutdown is off--and that the SD card is not full.
    Depending on the gopro's vid settings, some minimal lag might effect FPV vision. Especially if flying in amongst trees.
    I think that the power usage of the A/V TX unit is fairly minimal but may effect flight times.
    Cheers.

    Using the “video out” (Brown, Red & Yellow) cable that was supplied with
    the Phantom Upgrade board, expose the Brown (ground) & Yellow
    (Video) wires roughly 1.5cm in length at the bare end of the cable
    opposite end to connector. Bend the Red (Active) cable back out of the
    way and keep out of the way with electrical tape. *Refer to pic 2 *Red (Active) is not required when using the DJI 5.8gHz Av system.

    You should also remove the Black cable from the IMRC lead. One battery onboard means you already have a common NEG coming into the Tx, and you don't want to create Ground Loops.

      The video feed is sent from the back of the GoPro through the HD-2D and version 1.0 of the HD-3D using the proprietary connector. On the HD-3D 1.1 the gimbal uses a USB connection. which still passes to the Phantom 2 board. The CAM connector on the mainboard of the Phantom 2 then sends the video feed to the transmitter via the cable that is soldered.

    David,
    Thank you for the most excellent video.
    I ran into a problem after I finished the install. The install went fine everything works but now I am having trouble getting sat lock. When I first flew the P2 a week ago I was amazied how quickly it locked home position. Now it takes several minutes and at most I've seen 6-8 sats. I did unpower the vtx with no help then unpowered the GoPro with no help. I am thinking it may have something to do with the Zenmuse
    gimbal causing interference. Have you heard of any issues like this?
    Thank you for any advice,
    Tom

      The answer seems to be that for some gimbals (NOT MINE) there us a connector that mates with the GoPro rear connector. People assume it's always there, and this causes confusion. My gimbal is Zenmuse H3 3D. I've been told it has that connector. I better visit my optician 'cause I can't see it.

    • @weebaldman
      @weebaldman 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should have got it with the gimbal but you need to attach it to a drip wire which is taped to one side of the gimbal, it is small but it is there.. Well was on mine anyway.

      I am at the same spot, I purchased the immersion rc and black pearl based on this video, yet I get poor range, it seems the black pearl is rp-sma connector and the immersion is sma, now trying to understand what antenna to buy and if a connector will fix the connection problem while still maintaining continuity for longer range. please help.
